I also think its useful to remember the reality of this world, every man and woman is a sinner. You will become very disillusioned with God if you marry expecting your partner to never hurt you intentionally or not. People will fail us every day and our spouses and children are no exception, that is why its so important when following the biblical dating route to figure out their response to their own sin and how they repent and to let them see the same in you.
Also in relation to a guy figuring out your 'mask' - men are not mindreaders and Im sure they don't appreciate the myth that men can successfully decifer the complicating nature of the opposite sex any time anywhere when theyre probably too busy trying to figure themselves out..
Don't ever wear a mask, be a book and let the cover say Gods daughter/son only to be read one page at a time..

well you should keep the basic one: that he be a Child of God and will treat you with respect and love.
and i wrote this ten years ago, lol i've changed a few things but I still think we need to keep high standards because we are God's children and deserve the best the other person has to offer.
We should forgive mistakes, but they should not be done intentionally. the person should not be vicious and set out to hurt you. If they are then you have to figure out WHY.
I heard the saying today "hurt people hurt people"
just thinking everyone should deal with there own hurts and not take it out on the people around them.

but you remember when you pray, you don't just stop at asking God for something right?
You have to ask AND BELIEVE that God will give you your request. YOU have to BELIEVE that God LOVES YOU.
just a thought about why some prayers go unanswered sometimes that's all....
