Repetitious Prayer

Catholic hail marys and our Father comes into mind. Not that the Our Father prayer is vain and repetitious babbling. But if you say it three times in a row, it becomes that in my opinion.

I agree. Having been raised in the Roman Catholic church, I recall them chanting hail Mary's numerous times over and over again prior to the beginning of the Mass. It was certainly vain and repetitious in my opinion.

Repetition in song and praise is a different thing altogether, that is perfectly acceptable. View attachment 210679

Amen! The people who complain about repetition in songs and say its used to incite emotional states and trances are in for a rude awakening in heaven where "Holy, Holy, Holy!" is repeated on and on.

What does Jesus mean when He said do not the "vain repetition" warned against in Matthew 6:7? Does that meaning chanting, or calling to prayer? What are your thoughts?

With apologies to any Buddhist friends, I believe our Lord was telling us not to repetitively chant when in prayer. Our Heavenly Father always hears, just talk to Him. Respectfully, I might add.

Its the manner of prayer that is warned against. Not the repetitions. The Lord desires we cry out continuously without ceasing. . His will be done on earth as it is loosed from heaven .

One verse of hail Mary is to much and ten million not enough as to whose and what manner is vain .

He knows what we need before and asking crying out for comfort in our anxieties .He can strengthen us as he works in us. .

Catholic pray the manners of the law of the fathers as disembodied spirits called patron saints. This manner. The will of the legion (3500and rising ) be done as it is inspired from earth. Hallowed be thy Legion

Allah is not Jehovah God. Allah is an Egyptian moon goddess. Muslims do not worship God who is God. To them Jesus is a great prophet just like Mohammed.

Perhaps saying they are not heard is not exactly correct, since it is more along
the lines of, God does not respond, which is why their prayers are in vain.
