In 1 Corinthians 15:3 when Paul says that Christ died for our sins is he saying Christ took the punishment for our sins by dying for them? I guess I'm not getting what Christ dying for our sins means.

And it was Paul, wasn't it? I might not have been really sure in my OP, but kind of just wanted to get the thread made, I guess, if that's the right way to put it. Did Paul author 1 Corinthians? I guess Wikipedia is saying 1 Corinthians is attributed to Paul and a co-author named Sosthenes, if I got that right.

penal substitution. An *atonement theory claiming that Christ’s death on the cross in the place of sinners paid the penalty for *sin and defeated its power. Also known as vicarious atonement, this theory argues that since the punishment of sin is death, Christ died as the substitutionary sacrifice for those who trust in him, thus paying their debt in full. Although there are multiple atonement theories and metaphors for the saving significance of Christ’s death, many Reformed theologians consider penal substitution the heart of biblical *soteriology.

Christ died to pay for the sins of all of those people that his Father gave to him. Jesus did not offer to pay for the sins, He PAID for them, and God now looks upon those that he died for as holy and without blame. Those that he died for, as long as they live in this world, will still, accassionaly, commit sins, but the sins will not void their eternal inheritance.

1 JOHN 3:6 Whosoever abideth in HIM sinneth not: whosoever sinneth hath not seen HIM, neither known HIM , Little children, let no man deceive you: he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as HE is righteous . 1 JOHN 3:8 He that committeth sin is of the Devil ;
GODs word dose not teach once saved always saved . THIS makes GOD a LIER , When GOD says something , YOU had better apply it to your life , For only the DOERS are JUSTIFYED , HE that endureth until the END , NOT HE that starts and QUITs ,

As I have said to you before, you can contrast it to what Peter and the 11 were preaching in early Acts

Calvary was not good news in the early Acts period (that is, prior to God’s revelation to Paul). The crucifixion was something preached as evil, something Israel had done to bring God’s wrath upon them (see Acts 2:22-36; Acts 3:12-26; Acts 4:9-12; Acts 5:27-32).

It is only when we come to Paul’s ministry and message that God reveals that Jesus Christ’s finished crosswork is now the means whereby He will save Jews and Gentiles alike by simple faith in that crosswork.

Peter and the 11 did not preach in early Acts, “Christ died for our sins.” Paul did preach that message, however (1 Corinthians 15:3, written during the book of Acts). Paul simply preached faith and faith alone in Jesus Christ’s finished crosswork as means for forgiveness, for salvation from sins, to receive the Holy Spirit, et cetera (Acts 13:38-39; Acts 16:30-31; Romans 1:16; Romans 3:22-28; Romans 4:1-8; Romans 4:24-25; 1 Corinthians 1:21; Ephesians 1:13-14; Ephesians 2:8-9; Titus 3:5; et cetera)

Think of the OT lamb on the day of atonment who died for the sin of the people

this is what Jesus did, he took the penalty of death, so we who are dead in sin can be made alive

GOD tell us that That HE can BLOT out our names in Exodus 32:32 - 32:33 -DEU 9:14 , 29:20 ,
REV 3: 5 HE that overcometh , the same shall be clothed in white raiment; AND I WILL NOT BLOT OUT his name out of the BOOK of life, but I will confess his name before my father, and before HIS angels, HE that hath an ear , let him hear what the spirit saith unto the Churchs . SOME PEOPLE DON'T BELIEVE GOD AND CLOSE THEIR EARS TO WHAT GOD SAYS .

Yes, during the Tribulation, your name can indeed be blotted out if, for example, you decided to take the mark of the beast, after you believed in Christ (Rev 14:9-11)

Leviticus 17:11 For the life of the flesh is in the blood: and I have given it to you upon the altar to make an atonement for your souls: for it is the blood that maketh an atonement for the soul.

1 John 1:7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.

Hebrews 9:13-14
13 For if the blood of bulls and of goats, and the ashes of an heifer sprinkling the unclean, sanctifieth to the purifying of the flesh:

14 How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?

The Tribulation that you thinking about ,has already happen in the dark DAYS , When the reformers give up their lives and was burn at the stacks , There no one that knows how many give up their lives , But there is still of that to happen yet ,
This is what it is talking about in REV 6 :9-12 There is more to suffer like they did yet .GOD bless as HE sees fit .

The antichrist was , And is still the POPE , THAT had them killed , And the deadly wound is just about healed , And going to start soon , FOR the rest that will give their lives also , HIS mark is sunday , and they tell that it is , THE popes mark of authority , The Image is Church & state coming back together again ,like it was in Rome , Rome and the Catholic Church together , and killed the Christians in the first part of tribulations , The a country speaks by its LAWS , And that is how the Image will speak , And by the LAWS they will put GODs people to death , JUST like Church & state Did in Rome,

He took all the sins of those who will receive HIM and repent & be baptized . He will cover them at first , AND if we will endure unto the END , HE will blot them for ever , And cast them in the sea of forgetfulness .
