The day of the Lord points to the thousand year reign of Christ, His second coming. The two witnesses are bringing about the restoring the nation of Israel.
(Amo 8:2) And he said, Amos, what seest thou? And I said, A basket of summer fruit. Then said the LORD unto me, The end is come upon my people of Israel; I will not again pass by them any more.

Did you see this? When the summer fruit is gathered, Israel is done forever. God will not pass by them ever again.

As Jesus said, when summer is nigh, all these things (Matthew 24) are nigh at the door. And they were nigh at the door, the kingdom was taken from the Jews and Jerusalem was utterly destroyed in AD 70.

And for those who don't believe that it's already happened, how does "the end of my people of Israel" play out with the theology that God is going to reconcile Israel during the tribulation and usher them into the millennium when Amos 8 clearly says that during that time of summer, God is done with Israel forever.

James 5:16
Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.
Do you practice this? Even your sinful lusts?

I’m healed from my sins the moment I trusted Jesus. But yes, I confess my sins to Jesus my mediator.

Whispered no soup today, I am pretty clever and I can read between the lines of your post.

We have had this conversation ... I do not like your veiled and sometimes not so veiled slurs.

They are personal.
Was that you? I was thinking it was someone else. And more recently.

Well yes, it is personal. By the way, I don't slur people, regardless of your thoughts on that matter. I point out the behaviors that are particular to a handful, thank God, of people in these threads. This one in particular.
The slurs are when that handful think to call people names, throw ad homs, cackle like a maniac thinking that's a proper response to someone's Exegesis, and then defend their behaviors in some cases as like unto what Christ behaved like.

My remarks weren't veiled in the least. They were supported by scripture. Those folks who act like that will answer to God for it. Especially when they presume to say here and now in this world that their deplorable behavior toward other Christians imitates Christ. When nothing could be further from the truth.

The bible says to do this , and to be honest , it is very refreshing to have a brother or sister in Christ that we can talk over our sinful ways , we are to carry each others burdens...

Of coarse I go to God first , always I do , but it is a loving thing from our Father that He knows we are but humans , and need each other to build each other up in this fallen broken world , God works His healing through others by His Holy Spirit , I think it is a beautiful thing...

People who believe the day of the Lord is future will say the 144,000 will be sealed in the future. People who believe the day of the Lord happened around the time of Christ and AD 70 will say the 144,000 were sealed prior to the AD 70 destruction. I believe the later.

There has always been a remnant of Jews that get saved, Paul and all the disciples were part of it and there continues to be a remnant of Jews still being saved.

So how can Israel be forgotten by God forever ?

This happened already? Has the earth burned up? Is this global warming?😁

2 Peter 3:10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.

You have stated your position more than once.
I disagree and I have explained why very clearly.

The thing is this why do you feel the need to continually come back here to make these same old tired, false judgements?

Here are the tribulation saints. Keeping the faith of Christ is required and keeping the commandments.

Revelation 14:12 Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.

You do not GET IT, do you. It is NEVER THAT WE ARE REQUIRED TO KEEP THEM; IT IS WHY WE KEEP THEM, AND THAT IS PURELY BECAUSE WE AGAPE LOVE HIM. THE ACT OF AGAPE LOVE, IS THE ONLY PURE MOTIVE THAT GOD ACCEPTS. ANY OTHER MOTIVE IS JUST WOOD, HAY, AND STUBBLE AT BEST, AND FILTHY RAGS AT THE WORST.

Mat 23:37 O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, thou that killest the prophets, and stonest them which are sent unto thee, how often would I have gathered thy children together, even as a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings, and ye would not!
Mat 23:38 Behold, your house is left unto you desolate.
Mat 23:39 For I say unto you, Ye shall not see me henceforth, till ye shall say, Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord.

God had enough of them. They served their purpose, God gathered out the best of them and now he's done. Heavenly Jerusalem came, there is no need for earthly Jerusalem anymore.

What elements is Peter talking about, the periodic table or the weak and beggarly elements of Galatians 4:9.

Gal 4:9 But now, after that ye have known God, or rather are known of God, how turn ye again to the weak and beggarly elements, whereunto ye desire again to be in bondage?

The kingdom of heaven was taken from the Jews and given to another nation. Is that a new kingdom of heaven?

Mat 21:43 Therefore say I unto you, The kingdom of God shall be taken from you, and given to a nation bringing forth the fruits thereof.

It certainly can't be literal elements or the literal earth in your view either because the milennial reign takes place right after all these things are destroyed.

John 3:18 - He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. *Perfect Harmony*

*Notice that John DID NOT SAY no longer believes in Him. That is your extra added bias.
How is someone who no longer believes in Him not also one who does not believe?
The verse is speaking of both, those who have never believed, and those who stopped believing, because both do not believe.

You have stated your position more than once.
I disagree and I have explained why very clearly.
Then why do you continue to ignore the bad behavior and criticize those who point it out for what it is?
We're to do that, as God tells us to do.
And look, truly, I've lived long enough to know that no adult comports themselves in the manner the most aggregious display. Posting style being what it is, we can presume the behavior is that of kids either skipping school, having dropped out, or are linking in on their computer when they're in school. Because those same offenders are rarely as active on weekends. And yet while school is in session there they are. And no, it doesn't line up with a work schedule because in today's world, especially America, many companies monitor employees on-line activity if their computers can access the full Net at all.
Therefore, they are forgiven, and have been every time they've taken a shot at me.
My posts point out the ridiculous repeated bad behavior of those offenders when they think they're covering what they don't have to share , and don't know as pertains to scripture, with vulgar remarks and personal attacks. And the absurd, "Haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!" That's not an adult! Picture the behaviors in the off-line world and that member speaking that way to someone face to face. Not likely to happen. Lord knows, at least I'd hope not.

The thing is this why do you feel the need to continually come back here to make these same old tired, false judgements?
My dear lady, you misspeak the truth of the matter as anyone on the receiving end of the truth of what I described will attest. It isn't a judgment, it is an observation. The judgment you refer to is found in the scripture I posted.

Why do you defend or turn a blind eye to the offenders? And choose to jump on those they think to take great joy in offending?
You're not blind. You seem intelligent. Why do you miss the log in their eye so as to put the log in mine?

And certainly, I don't have to point it out any further. The evidence will show itself soon enough. :)

God saves anyone who comes to him, if Jews come to him they will be saved. The verses about the end of Israel doesn't mean that no Jews will be saved, God's just done using them the way he did in the past.

Do you know which verses you are talking about the tribes on the throne... I'm tired and it'll save me some work. :)
