You said:

"Yep, in the spirit of Elijah. He was not Elijah. He could have fulfilled the prophecy concerning Elijah if Israel would have received their Messiah. "

Jesus said John the Baptist fulfilled the prophecy but apparently some other scripture makes you think that he didn't. I guess you're saying that in order for Elijah to come, Israel would have to recieve their messiah. That's what I'm asking, where is that found in scripture because it goes directly against what Jesus said.
Does this sound like John the Baptist? It could have been, but wasn’t.

Malachi 4:5 Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the Lord: This is a reference to the second coming of Jesus.

Revelation 11:6 These have power to shut heaven, that it rain not in the days of their prophecy: and have power over waters to turn them to blood, and to smite the earth with all plagues, as often as they will. Did John the Baptist accomplish this? Did he cause it not to rain for three and a half years?

Yet who ever the above guy is, he is asking others to read his works and take notice of him..
You're right in the sense that we will be judged for and by our works for the kingdom, and that would mean how we treat others when we think we're defending it using words and posturing as the Devil.

What works mean in matters of Salvation is that we are not able to work for God in order to have God approve our efforts and therein let us into Heaven, or Save us.
While Salvation in and of itself means we then are expected to work for the kingdom as God leads us. That's why some of us feel drawn to volunteer at soup kitchens, donate old clothes to shelters, etc...

I agree , but I thought he came in the spirit of Elijah , not sure how I got that , glad I never had to argue a point lol...
Well here's another one. Elijah was to come and restore all things. I'm not sure how John the Baptist restored all things, but I know that he did because Jesus said he did. I think that's something I would like to study - how John the Baptist restored all things and what that means!

Mat 17:11 And Jesus answered and said unto them, Elias truly shall first come, and restore all things.
Mat 17:12 But I say unto you, That Elias is come already, and they knew him not, but have done unto him whatsoever they listed. Likewise shall also the Son of man suffer of them.

I wonder why James brings up Elijah? Hmmmmmm? Maybe because he will return in the tribulation and cause it not to rain for 3 1/2 years? Just a coincidence, I’m sure.

17 Elias was a man subject to like passions as we are, and he prayed earnestly that it might not rain: and it rained not on the earth by the space of three years and six months.
18 And he prayed again, and the heaven gave rain, and the earth brought forth her fruit.

Hmmmmmm?

Malachi 4:5 Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the Lord:

Revelation 11:6 These have power to shut heaven, that it rain not in the days of their prophecy: and have power over waters to turn them to blood, and to smite the earth with all plagues, as often as they will.
HAHAHHAHAHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHHA let us just ignore the fact that JESUS said Elijah did indeed come....and let us also ignore that BELIEVERS will indeed endure the tribulation....there is NO imminent return of JESUS where the "church" goes POOF and disappears.......let's also ignore that MANY books POINT to the end of the age because for every ONE prophecy concerning his first coming there are 8 that deal with his second coming.....

I bet you have two hands full of straws...

Well it won't make sense to you if you believe the day of Lord is thousands of years in the future.

And on the Rev 11:6 part, there is no mention of Elijah as being one of the two prophets and the two prophets, whoever they are, certainly aren't restoring anything in Revelation.

The day of the Lord points to the thousand year reign of Christ, His second coming. The two witnesses are bringing about the restoring the nation of Israel.

You can red x the truth all you want John, but your cited example of Elijah does not prove your points nor does it prove you vanilla twist false gospel for the Jews during the tribulation blather

HAHAHHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAH more drivel....the two witnesses are killed and the RESURRECTED with the rest of the saved in the resurrection....GOD himself saves the remnant and PREPARES the remnant for the reign of their KING

You need to lay off the religious juice and start embracing the truth

What no apology for falsely accusing me of using commentaries????
James 5 please. The sick shall be healed, not maybe. Please explain.

14 Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord:
15 And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him.

Or, scripture.
John 5:24-29 ESV Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life. He does not come into judgment, but has passed from death to life. 25 Truly, truly, I say to you, an hour is coming, and is now here, when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God, and those who hear will live.

“I am he who searches hearts and minds, and I will repay each of you according to your deeds” (The Book of Revelation chapter 2:23).

This has NOTHING to do with the previous points you have tried to prove.........and who was given authority to remit or retain on this earth.....do tell.......and so what....miraculous healing was ascribed to the 1st century A.D........next you will be trying to prove you speak in tongues and have anew revelation......

Sick here can mean weakened...
They who are sick and prayed over will be strengthened by the LORD...
We are also called to confess our sins to one another before God , this is healing from God...

Are you saying this is not applicable to the Church today? What!

Signs and miracles will resume in the tribulation for the nation of Israel.

Whispered no soup today, I am pretty clever and I can read between the lines of your post.

We have had this conversation ... I do not like your veiled and sometimes not so veiled slurs.

They are personal.

I don’t confess my sins to others, only to God.
