Paul said that singles should “live in a right way in undivided devotion to the Lord” (1 Corinthians 7:35). What does "undivided attention" to the Lord mean in our daily lives? I do not believe that singles are expected to be full-time missionaries unless we have a call (we can still have other types of jobs, etc.). The only things I can think of is that we have more time for prayer, devotionals, etc., and more time to volunteer at the church. However, I find that there are many couples who are more involved than singles at church. That said, being single with long work days, I think I spend more time doing tasks/chores when compared to couples. For example, I do all my chores, laundry, cook, dishes, groceries, errands, etc. all by myself without any help from a spouse/children. I also need down time/unwind. I do think if I was married, my "chore" list will be reduced and I'll have more time to devote to the church.
