I am a 85 year old single male living alone in a very classy Assisted Living/Memory Care/ALZ Facility. I have a married daughter, three adult married grand children and five greats with another on the way. All of my family are doing just fine, with nice homes, good jobs and no real problems at this time. They are all very close and get along well with one another. They all attend the same church where my daughter has been a full time employee for 20 years. The church and their faith seems to be the glue that binds them. They would love for me to join the church but I gracefully decline.

Greats are the greatest!

Make their day. Go to church with them when you can.

There isn't enough information here for me to give advice and I am not sure what the problem is, if any. You imply that you have declined offers to attend the same church as your family but you don't state why. I attend church to have fellowship with other believers.

You misunderstand. There is no problem. No family member has asked me to join their church or attend. I just choose not to join or attend their church or any church.

Since your spiritual status is listed as "unsure", then would'nt it be a good idea to go to church so you can finally be 100% sure of your spiritual status??

Or even if you watch an online service, like I do. :) Mine is streamed live from Calvary, Ft. Lauderdale in Florida.

Looks like you do have a problem. What does the Bible have to say about this?

I do not like or enjoy church.

Lon, do you get out in the community anymore? I do hope that you at least spend some outside time with your family.

I do not get out into the community because I no longer drive and live alone in a one bed room apartment in a very nice Assisted Living Facility. All of my family lives within 15 minutes of me. They come to visit me and I will have them join me for a meal occasionally.

Matthew 18:20
For where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them.”

Glad your family is doing well and that they come and visit you and you get to share a meal with them from time to time.

As far as if and what church you choose, or not choose to go to....

That's your choice.

May God's love, mercy and kindness meet you with peace, wherever you decide to go and wherever you are.

I have two dear friends who found themselves unable to care for each other. They are now living in an assisted living facility. Their daughter sets aside one Sunday a month to bring them home for a family gathering. It is amazing the difference that this time makes in my friends' lives. We look forward to having them in our Sunday School class, fellowship and worship time when they are able to attend. They are a blessing to us.

You may not be able to do it often, but spend a day with your family away from your apartment.

My family consists of four separate very active and busy households.

Why is it that almost all the replies to the OP are coming across with condescending tones and trying to "fix" a problem? ( or is it just me that's reading them that way  ) This is the "Family Forum" a place for family discussions, and the man just wanted to share a little about himself and his family.
Maybe (and I'm just speculating here,) but maybe it is because of so much condensation that people often experience within the 4 walls of a church building that this man isn't interested in going to one........

Lon,
it sounds like you have a very beautiful family and are very proud of them. Thanks for sharing about them with us.
