No, I doubt a competitor would be blocking.. maybe something else going on.

I suspect Microsoft Edge could be the one warring against Chrome. It only effects Chrome. It is fixed today, but I had to use FireFox yesterday, and ran an Advanced System Care scan, and it found all kinds unwanted Registry Entries and Spyware threats.

Don't know what that has to do with what we're talking about.
It becomes tiresome when a participant in a conversation forgets his own context. You spoke of exhorting Christians against particular sins, what didn't happen was exhorting Christians against sins they weren't particularly guilty of...

If you accuse without evidence, it is the same as declaring yourself omniscient. You are not. I need hear nothing else from you.
I'm not accusing without evidence.
Unless the Christians that told me they watch those kinds of programs (and that it's okay to do that) were lying.

In the absence of evidence (without cause) you have accused these brothers of watching a sinful show (you assume my opinions on it)
If you're talking about people presently contributing to this thread, I was not talking about them. I don't know what they do. I was using watching those shows as an example of what the church at large approves of these days in the name of grace.

...and make yourself the shining example to follow (because you have not transgressed).
Don't know where you got that from.
Could it be that's just your defenses going up and you just heard it that way?

I haven't heard you once ask how Christ would have behaved in effect towards the show.
He'd overturn the televisions and computer screens of the Christians watching it in a fit of Holy Wrath, just as he did the tables of the money changers. If us mere Christians can be tormented in our souls by the lawless deeds around us, particularly by those who call themselves Christians, how much more so the soul of the Perfect Son of God?

Ah, I see.

"16After this letter has been read to you, see that it is also read in the church of the Laodiceans and that you in turn read the letter from Laodicea." - Colossians 4:16

Why are any of Paul's letters recorded for us if they are not also for us?

Prove it is done in the name of grace..... and prove they are under grace.

What is your point really.... that grace is a problem, and therefore churches need more law?

Ralph would perseverate on the same issue.

Has He become ineffectual in His role as the loving Father who disciplines and chastises His sons and daughters?

Is this your point...that God is not doing His job?

i don't think judges has a point, he just types....
I don't say anything that the Lord has not already said in the scriptures.

"God did not call us to be impure, but to live a holy life. 8 Therefore, anyone who rejects this instruction does not reject a human being but God, the very God who gives you his Holy Spirit." - 1 Thessalonians 4:7-8

It is hard sometimes to remember that it is the Lord that is being resisted when the command to live a holy life gets pooh-poohed as being a self-righteous works gospel.

I am not pooh-poohing anything of the sort.

you say correctly that one has to believe and keep believing to saved.

then you throw in the lordship salvation lie that righteous living is " proof " of salvation, thus undercutting what you said correctly .

and, as far as 1st Thessalonians 4, Paul was speaking of being sexually pure when He said what you quoted.

it was not general statement.
go peddle your lordship salvation on someone who does not know Scripture. it will not work on someone who does.

All I'm saying is what the Bible says:

18Dear children, let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth.
19This is how we know that we belong to the truth - 1 John 3:18-19

14We know that we have passed from death to life, because we love each other. Anyone who does not love remains in death. 15Anyone who hates a brother or sister is a murderer, and you know that no murderer has eternal life residing in him. - 1 John 3:14-15

10This is how we know who the children of God are and who the children of the devil are: Anyone who does not do what is right is not God’s child, nor is anyone who does not love their brother and sister. - 1 John 3:10

Explain how this is Lordship salvation.

Well, we were talking about Christians watching the latest socially accepted and sanctioned pornographic programming.
But if you need a more generalized call to holiness from scripture....

"14Make every effort to live in peace with everyone and to be holy; without holiness no one will see the Lord." - Hebrews 12:14

"14As obedient children, do not conform to the evil desires you had when you lived in ignorance. 15But just as he who called you is holy, so be holy in all you do; 16for it is written: “Be holy, because I am holy.” - 1 Peter 1:14-15

holy means set apart, different, other. so holy means do not act like non-believers .

and John also said that if anyone sins, we have an advocate in Jesus.

sin does not mean loss of salvation, as all of Paul's , Johns, Peter's letters were written to believers .

believe in Jesus= saved. non- belief= not saved.

not behavior-= saved or not.

lordship salvation ( your lie that you push) says proper belief=salvation, improper belief=not saved.

lie.

Do you think it's okay for Christ professing Christians to watch shows like Game of Thrones?
They do.
Do you think that's okay?
Is that really what God's grace in the believer is all about--being able to watch things like that?
Is it somehow self-righteous works not to watch those, and to tell other Christians they should not too?
I don't know what game of thrones is about. Still whatever a Christian watches, that act of watching it does not make them unsaved. I don't know enough about game of thrones to form an opinion on if it is ok or not ok to watch.

No, I don't push Lordship salvation, lol.
I wondered why you were going down that road with me.

Unbelief is what will end Jesus' ministry in heaven for you.
As long as you believe in Christ your sinning, no matter how grievous, is covered by the blood.

The danger is that your sinning will harden your heart to unbelief:

"12See to it, brothers and sisters, that none of you has a sinful, unbelieving heart that turns away from the living God. 13But encourage one another daily, as long as it is called “Today,” so that none of you may be hardened by sin’s deceitfulness." - Hebrews 3:12-13

But actually, I think the primary problem with disobedience in the church today is most 'Christians' have simply not been born again, their lives bearing witness to that as John talks about that in his letter. Though I am also of the opinion that there is a problem that those who are saved are sinning themselves into unbelief.

Trust me, you don't want to know.
I know about it because the question came up in an on-line article as to whether or not Christians should watch it.
I watch very little TV so I did not even know it existed, so I IMDB'd where you can read (graphic:eek:) details about it.
Shocking, to say the least. It's a mystery to me why Christians even have to wonder if you can watch it or not to be holy as the Lord commands his people to be.

Still whatever a Christian watches, that act of watching it does not make them unsaved.
I agree.
But it may signify that a person does not have a saving relationship with God to begin with to ultimately keep them from watching it.
Or, they are saved, but watching it is hardening their heart and they are shrinking into unbelief which will eventually cause them to lose the benefit of Christ's ministry for them in heaven. If you don't think that can happen (that unbelief can cause you to lose justification in Christ) Paul explains to the Galatians who went back to the law for justification that they lose the benefit of justification through Christ by doing that. God is merciful as he sees fit ('I will have mercy on whom I have mercy'). He gave them room to repent and come back to their senses.

I don't know enough about game of thrones to form an opinion on if it is ok or not ok to watch.
If you think watching pornography is a sin then your opinion of Game of Thrones will be the same.
