Of course there was a massive extinction event and some very Earth changing events as the world in Noah's day was very different. It hadn't even rained ever before the flood. During this time there must of been some seismic activity as water rose up from beneath the crust (which is also scientifically proven)

It is also debated by what the word world meant because the ancients often spoke of localized or regional events in hyperbolic terms. One does not need to look too far for examples. Consider the following from the Old and New Testaments:

  1. Genesis 41:57 – And all the countries came to Egypt to buy grain from Joseph, because the famine was severe in all the world.”
  2. 1 Kings 10:24 – “The whole world sought audience with Solomon to hear the wisdom God had put in his heart.”
  3. Luke 2:1 – “In those days Caesar Augustus issued a decree that a census should be taken of the entire world.”
  4. John 12:19 – “So the pharisees said to one another, ‘See, this is getting us nowhere. Look how the whole world has gone after him!”
  5. Acts 2:5 – “Now there were staying in Jerusalem God-fearing Jews from every nation under heaven.”
  6. Romans 1:8 – “First, I thank my God through Jesus Christ for all of you, because your faith is being reported all over the world.”
  7. Colossians 1:6 – “All over the world this gospel is beairng fruit and growing, just as it has been doing among you since the day you heard it and understood God’s grace in all its truth.”
The ancient Hebrews did not think of “the world” as being a spherical globe, as one would today. Rather, to say that God had “flooded the world” would be simply to say that God had “flooded the known world” or “the land”. Indeed, 2 Peter 3:6 reports that, “By these waters also the world of that time was deluged and destroyed.

While hyperbole is definitely a literary device used in Semitic writing styles- and indeed in the Semitic languages of today.
I don't agree that you can file the creation account of Genesis away into that category. It follows the Hebraic style for relaying an account and repeating the same story with more detail. This is the method employed in much of the Biblical record. When one statement is repeated again and again, you are expected to take it seriously. 'There was evening and there was morning.'

I don't think this is a story the Hebrews were making up to tell their children. This is a record from the creator himself of HIS work.
We are given a step by step account from the creator through the prophet. An account that will hold up in the heavenly court of law.

"Let God be true and every man a liar."

Surely the Lord GOD does nothing, Unless He reveals His secret to His servants the prophets
. Amos 3:7 (NKJV)

You don't have to be a flat-earther to believe the Genesis record.

He stretches out the north over empty space; He hangs the earth on nothing
. Job 26:7
How long did it take man to discover that was true?

When I walk the beautiful halls of the colleges of Cambridge University, I am reminded that modern Science began with men of faith. Like Isaac Newton. The same university in my lifetime produced an arrogant man with an atheist theory of "everything".
Much of secular science for the last 50 years has followed the political fashion of our time and deteriorated into atheistic "Scientism" rather than science. People who have rejected God have set the narrative. People who would build Babylon. They openly ridicule our God.
It's unwise to follow the blind into a pit because they have manipulated the world-view of secular education. The enemy is a liar and a clever one.

Well everyone wants to be a stickler about 6 24hr days, scripture says the sun knows when to set and not the earth knows when to rotate and the moon is for seasons. you can’t alter language of the Bible.

Psalm 104
19He made the moon to mark the seasons; the sun knows when to set.

No where in scripture says the earth rotates
What are you getting at?

The sun won't keep going down every night?
The moon doesn't record the passing of time?

Have you ever heard of Stonehenge?
Prehistoric man used the heavenly bodies to keep a calendar. They used it for agriculture. They knew when to plant crops so they could harvest in the correct season. It still works. The sun still knows when to go down.

Are you a YEC? that creation was in 6 days.

Stonehenge isn’t in the Bible that is secular reasoning.

Then you are saying the Bible is not true, explain the verse below it says exactly that the moon is for seasons just like creation was in 6 days

Psalm 104
19He made the moon to mark the seasons; the sun knows when to set.

This is all you got

14 And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years:
15 And let them be for lights in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth: and it was so.
16 And God made two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night: he made the stars also.

We also see his great power, if he can do that in 6 days, what can he not do? it should give us peace
It is more amazing to know God who is timeless is patient with his creation. That God fine tuned everything and sustained everything throughout time. Everything was goal directed to the elements to create life. Then everything around us is perfectly set for the human to have all it needs. Just as the magnitude of space billions of light years in its space. God within a speck of it decided to fine tune a solar system with one planet that could support life. The time within the light years is unimaginable but God is ever present which to me is amazing.

Secular reasoning? Weren't you banging on about sun dials last night? I was merely pointing out that ancient man was using the stars, planets, sun & moon to keep time. It works. Just as God said it would.

I never claimed "The sun won't keep going down every night or The moon doesn't record the passing of time"
Where are you getting this from? It's you making odd claims. Stop talking nonsense.

I do like these, being the formation of the Milky Way spiral arms, and the solar system and stars too being all the other planets in the solar system yea I dig it.

Hard to understand?
I do not see that. I see it as easy. As God told Moses in 6 days I created on the 7th I rested as such. You and al Israelnare to rest on the 7th day

There is no way in this context we can make the 7th day be anything more than a literal day
if you try to make it do that’s that would be why it is hard to understand
No sir it is indeed in context we understand the 7th day is still today. No evening to mark the era. That is obvious and Hebrews 4 makes it even more obvious. Explain why their was no evening?
