The last time he fell, he broke his arm. He's fallen several times, and finally had a pacemaker put in. However it acted wonky for awhile and kept shocking him, literally knocking him on his a**. They finally got it adjusted but sometimes he just falls for no conceivable reason. He's gonna be 89 in May..
Woooow......

Does he have a walker?

Something he can use his arms to help keep him up if his legs go weak for a moment?

I have a family member who walks fine but if she goes outside shes been using a walker since her mid 70s

Medical diagnosis is often like that...sometimes hard for them to figure out after the fact.
I'm thinking it's either his heart, or some of his meds causing it.. Daddy had his first heart attack when I was little, back in the 70's.. In recent years, he's had a few "mini heart attacks"..

I think I agree on some level as well.

We can be blessed by how God uses someone in our life, and definitely discern good fruit from bad fruit.

One thing specifically I have seen where I felt I saw someone being moved by God was a very proud man being humbled by the truth and actually showing a side of him I hadn't seen before....

I can't say for sure obviously... but it certainly reminded me of what God does to me when I'm shown my own error....
Not about their "fruit" or how they exemplify being a believer, but just knowing they are saved ... discerning that presence of the Holy Spirit within them.

He uses a cane, and I gave him my roller walker a few years ago.

Could be the meds ...have heard of this a lot with elderly people...I used to serve "drinks" in a long term care facility...learned a lot about the troubles of growing old.

The drs. keep mucking around with his Coumadin (blood thinner) and heart meds dosages. I wish they'd leave them alone..

My dad went through that too... they have to be very careful with blood thinners....it requires constant monitoring.

I think God can and does very rarely reveal to us the Holy Spirit in another ...it is a spirit to spirit connection.

Not sure if this is in the Bible though.. however it is not a judgement thing just a sense of discerning.

I would really like thoughts on this?
Can I declare it %100? No.

Have I felt a spiritual kinship with other believers? Certainly.

Could you guys please pray for my Daddy? He fell in Kinney Drugs' parking lot and was unconcious for awhile. My brother just called and Daddy is now in the hospital, having tests done to determine why he fell. He's awake and talking but is all banged and bruised up..
Prayers

I think that satan comes as an angel of light,

we need to be careful and not assume everything we see Is from God,

1 Corinthians 9:23 (GWT)
23 I do all this for the sake of the Good News in order to share what it offers.

1 Corinthians 9:23 (NIV)
23 I do all this for the sake of the gospel, that I may share in its blessings.

1 Corinthians 9:23 (NJB)
23 All this I do for the sake of the gospel, that I may share its benefits with others.

1 Corinthians 9:23 (NCV)
23 I do all this because of the Good News and so I can share in its blessings.

1 Corinthians 9:23 (ESV)
23 I do it all for the sake of the gospel, that I may share with them in its blessings.

1 Corinthians 9:23 (MaceNT)
23 and I do all for the gospel's sake, that I may share in the benefits thereof.

1 Corinthians 9:23 (NLT2)
23 I do everything to spread the Good News and share in its blessings.

1 Corinthians 9:23 (WEY)
23 And I do everything for the sake of the Good News, that I may share with my hearers in its benefits.
No word for Benefits or blessings in the Greek. 7 paraphrases that got it wrong. Shame because some of them claim to be translations.

Most of these are literal or direct translations.

(DLNT 1Cor 9:23) And I am doing all things for the sake of the good-news, in order that I might become a co-partner of it.

(NET 1Cor 9:23) I do all these things because of the gospel, so that I can be a participant in it.

(KJV 1Cor 9:23) And this I do for the gospel's sake, that I might be partaker thereof with you.

(GUV 1Cor 9:23) And I am doing this (on account of) the glad tidings, in order that I may become a fellow–partaker of it.«

(Diaglot 1Cor 9:23) This but I do on account of the glad tidings, that a co–partner of it I may become.

(SLT 1Cor 9:23) And this I do on account of the good news, that I might become a partaker of it.

(YLT 1Cor 9:23) And this I do because of the good news, that a fellow-partaker of it I may become;

(1Co 9:23 ASV) And I do all things for the gospel's sake, that I may be a joint partaker thereof.

(1Co 9:23 EMTV) Now this I do for the sake of the gospel, in order that I may become a partaker of it with you.

At this point we can look at the Greek.

Like @mailmandan said, it's impossible... Unless...
He has the much coveted charismatic spiritual gift of discernment:eek:

Yes, almost all Born Again Christians have a certain level of Discernment that comes with spiritual maturity, but some of more gifted at that than others.

Philippians 1:9 (HCSB)
9 And I pray this: that your love will keep on growing in knowledge and every kind of discernment,

Hebrews 5:13-14 (HCSB)
13 Now everyone who lives on milk is inexperienced with the message about righteousness, because he is an infant.
14 But solid food is for the mature—for those whose senses have been trained to distinguish between good and evil.

Romans 12:2 (HCSB)
2 Do not be conformed to this age, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may discern what is the good, pleasing, and perfect will of God.

What work did you do today to prove your salvation?
Well everyone knows I am super saved so that is not the issue for me...it is completely self evident for all to see.

..I might even be promoted soon....but now to keep my salvation and my high status in tact I drove well within the speed limit and I let left space so people could cut in front of me...and smiled all the while.:)
