Ive practically been alone in having any partnership/relationship my whole life.
And at this point i don't know if God will ever have me meet the husband i have been saving myself for.
And Ive heard many contest that doing so is not a smart thing to do. As the thought is you should be as experienced as possible for marriage..not to mention this day and age it is rare to find a man who would go into such a relationship if the sex cards are not on the table first.
That is not to say i am totally inexperienced as i vowed my abstinence at the age of 18 after..
And i am interested in psychology and as such sex and sexuality is a large component in the human psyche so i am versed in mental exploration on it. Mind and body.
Do you think it wise to continue to stick with it and save for a possible future husband that may never come to be?
And..is it possible no matter how much i wish to share a life, possibly grow with family and children, experience and share what i feel to be a priceless love i have within..
Is it possible that God has plans for people to be alone in that part for the whole of their lives?
I would so very much like to experience such love as...I feel what i can give, share and care is truly special to someone who would give me such a chance.. to look into eyes that find me more beautiful than anything..and share that feeling..
And i would like to feel loving arms encircled around me at least once..
corny i know :p *blows raspberry

God wants us all to have a mate. He created each of us with organs that are designed to bring forth children into the world. With women those organs play an even bigger part in life than a man's, but I digress...

What if God came to you in a dream and said "my dear child, it is only your fear which stands between your loneliness and meeting your future husband whom I have already chosen for you and is waiting for you." What would you do differently from then on?

God knows i would be content being alone for the rest of my life watching national geographic and eating McDonalds. My greatest goal in life is to eventually get everyone to leave me alone. Its sad, but i really mean that.

When i read this it kinda struck me. Here you are complaining (i say that in a nice way) because you want to get married but god hasnt sent you anyone, and im complaining because i dont wanna get married but im gonna have to.

I will never understand God. Why does he give the things that people dont want to them, and the things that people want, he with holds.

I dont think he wants you to always be alone, no. I really do hope he brings you someone because i can see thats what you really want.

You don't HAVE to get married, Nod...people will push (family, especially) but you have to make the final decision. No amount of pushing should force you into a marriage you don't want...unless he owns a McDonalds. Then you'd be stupid not to.

That is requirement numero uno. He WILL own a Mcdonalds.

Lauren,
I understand exactly how you feel. Getting closer the 30 every day and still not having the husband or family that I assumed my whole life I would have by now is very hard. And I truly feel in my heart that I was made to be a wife and a mother. I do not feel that I was made to be alone and I don't believe that God would give me that deep desire if he intended on me being single for the rest of my life. I do believe that many people have the gift of singleness, and that they desire to be single so that they can better serve God and are able to make sacrifices for God that married people wouldn't be able to do. I have asked myself many times if that is what God has planned for me, and each time, I feel the answer is no.

So, your question is, should I continue to save myself for someone who may not even exist. Well, I can honestly say I wish I had. Throughout my dating life, I have experienced things (some my choice, others not my choice), that I wish had never happened. It fundamentally changed who I am and I've been struggling with it ever since. I 100% believe that you should save yourself for marriage. That is the plan that God has for us. That is the way he designed it to be. And if you are not married, then you shouldn't be having sex. I know it sounds very prudish in today's culture, but I can tell you from experience that He designed it that way for a reason. Sex is a beautiful thing that God made for a husband and wife to share together. Outside of marriage, it is a complete disaster. Nothing good can come from it.
In Psalm 37: 4 David says, "Delight yourself in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart." This does not mean that if you pray that He will give you everything you want. It means that as we nurture our relationship with the Lord and learn more about Him, we will desire more to be like Him. We will readily align our will, our desires, with His, because we desire the same things.

Right now in my singleness, I am working on aligning my desires with the desires of God. I still believe that I will have a husband and family one day. But as I grown in my relationship with Jesus, my desires may change. But I still have no idea what my future is going to be. And so my advice to is to not give up the promise you made because of what you think you may be missing out on. Because I can assure you that unless you are experiencing it with your husband, then it won't be worth it. That is the experience that you want. Not just the what, but the who with. Anything else just doesn't live up to how amazing it is supposed to be. You will always be missing out.

And I can tell that you have a heart like mine that wants to share the love that you have already overflowing and give to someone else who feels that for you. And yes, it sounds ridiculously sappy, but I feel it too :)
So it seems that your desire now is to have a a family, and if you are seeking God, and feel that is who He made you to be, then I truly believe He will bless you.

Your sister in Christ,
Erin

Dark, and, fleece, I don't have the answer for if God will grant your wishes of a other half, but I like the Psalms quote 37:4, fleece, and, dark, I hear sincerity in your heart. God hears us, and, I feel, sometimes, we need to realize that He has us stalled at the runway, so to speak. Whether it's something in our pas5 we can't let go or get over, He may be waiting for you to forgive yourself or forgive others before letting you take off. :-)

Isaiah 40:31 Wait on the Lord, and, you will walk and not grow weary, and, you will run and not faint, and, you will be lifted up like on the wings of an eagle.

Here is an example of how BADLY we need each other . Stuart Little 2 movie: There's a scene at end of the movie where Stuart, the mouse, is in a plane with the canary, Margola. Well, to make a long story shorter, Stuart and Margola are flying along in a plane just their size and the villain, a hawk, comes along and rips the top wings off the bi-plane.... The plane starts a quick uncontrollable descent for our two little heroes.
Stuart is madly pulling on the lever to try and get bi-plane to right itself from the plummet.
"Pull, Stuart," pull, screams Margola.
"I am," says Stuart. "But it won't go back anymore."
Pull harder," shouts Margola, as the plane is getting closer and closer to ground.
Suddenly, the lever goes back more, the mouse and the bird are saved. Hooray.

Now, keep in mind too that Margola met Stuart at the beginning of the movie, falling into Stuart's little far as he was driving along. Margola had a broken wing and that, too, is the time we first meet the hawk, who is now after Margola and, consequently, Stuart....
Stuart drives his car to the safety of a pipe culvert and that starts off these two's relationship forth rest of the movie.

So what's said fall this. For different reasons, whether its inspiration, or, urgency to 'pull back on a lever HARDER,' it is important to realize that we opposites can make a good team . Good news, too, God knows this. Jer. 29:11. :) The Lord leads , but know, for some one guy somewhere in time out there, God knows you will help that someone survive life better with you than going it alone . : Pray about this on your heart and then look at verses 12, 13 in Phil. 4 .

God bless your searches and patience, I always recommend reading, Passion & Purity by Elizabeth Elliott, it's a wonderful God story of love :-)

I have no clue really..i guess firstly and importantly id have to find out what fear that was. Its not from lack of trying.
I know i let go of one great Godly male back in early high school because of my mental issues. Might of held on to him if my friend didn't have to open her mouth where i asked her not to as i was still thinking it over.
I was fast and he was slow.
He was so up beat and full of light, at that time I feared i would somehow smudge it out with the polar opposite that i was.
I was insecure, depressed, hated myself and tho i prayed every night, i still had animosity towards God. I simply wanted to die and have it be over with.
And I didn't feel it right of me to enter a relationship in that condition. Isn't fair to the other half even if he said he understood and still wanted to try.
I feared contaminating him and fear God would hate me even more for the wickedness i brought onto one of his beautiful children.
But last I heard he was going to college and had a girlfriend so maybe it was the right thing to do and extremely happy that he is happy. Found love that he was looking for. Lord only knows how much damage i could have done to his path.
Just worried i will never meet someone that loves me for me like that again or thought they do anyway. :p
well, thanks for replying and giving me something to chew.
tc and God bless

Dark, scripture verse says: (I think its Jesus speaking) Don't worry about tomorrow, for today has enough worry in itself.

That verse is just saying that we need to LIVE in the moment, living for God best we can DAILY, realizing that the past things not happening to us that we wanted happening are what God KNEW was best for us not to have happen. Or, if we want to play the Devil's advocate, then God allowed the red horns, devilish, destroying one to act in your life in a disruptive way (like Job ), and, that is only allowed to happen because God knows, like Job, you will wrestle with thwarting what-ifs before realizing what can be in the future IF you focus now on just the good (no worries) of TODAY . So don't listen to anyone but who God puts in your life, turn back the red one. Say: 'Satan, get thee out of my life' and then pray to God that you can do things that KEEP the Enemy attacks from you, like being plugged into constant prayer and bible reading daily and asking God to bring right people into your life. As you draw closer to God, He will draw closer to you and that will make it easy to live a life content and focused and streamlined for bringing glory to God . :-)
