Hi All

I live in California (Los Angeles) and have been looking for a real church for over 10 years
I visit churches in my area and smell the marketing, the hustle, the lack of respect for the word of God, the compromise, the almost worship of SJW issues.
It has left me very isolated. I recently visited a Lutheran Church and like it well enough, then I found out that
in the communion, they believe in transubustatiation, which I do not.
To add to this ...I just broke up with a man who was a Mormon,
but lied to me and said he was a "Christian" ...its a long story, but the Mormons are trained to speak the christian lingo, without
knowing or caring a thing about the Lord. All that said, I am on a quest to find a tribe of believers who actually believe. This is what I hope to find here.

Welcome to CC, Platosgal! I hope you find blessings here.

No matter what happens, God's Word will stand and be vindicated.

Those in the apostate churches, as well as us believers, will bow down and confess that Christ Jesus is Lord.

Take refuge in the Lord just as Elijah did.

welcome to the real christian world, with a touch of apostate thinking and deliberately causing division and confusion. We do have a spiritual war going on, and it cant be avoided sadly. I gave up on organised religion a very long time ago. Have tried many denominations but all have fallen short. The worst one I came across was a pentecostal group whose sole focus was prosperity, eww.

I am here, dear sister, and I am so glad you came. I just finished responding to one of your posts on the BDF. (Bible Discussion Forum). I have read your profile page. Welcome to your new home.

There are wolves here also, but we refuse to give up this high ground. The entire world is watching us. This is a glass house. Great opportunity for witnessing and testifying can found here. Welcome to your new home. God bless you.

Yes i have heard many reports about how much of California has fallen into deception and disbelief.. If i lived there and had the ability to leave i would..

"Teacher," said John, "we saw a man driving out demons in your name and we told him to stop, because he was not one of us."
"Do not stop him," Jesus said. "No one who does a miracle in my name can in the next moment say anything bad about me, for whoever is not against us is for us," (Mark 9:38-40 NIV).
What do you think the above verses mean?

A provocative title for the thread. :)

Is it your contention that anyone who disagrees with you is apostate?

Welcome the the forum. (y)

At best, those churches are errant.
At worst, they are apostate.

As I understand it Lutherans do not believe in Transubstantiation - that's a Catholic belief.

What do you think the above verses mean?
I think it was specifically for the time prior to the cross. They did not have the word as we do, they did not have the Cross, or the Resurrection, my assumption is he was allowing this because he was preparing the world for his name.

they believe in transubustatiation,
Not sure it matters but they do not... they believe in real spiritual presence but the elements remain the same.

Only the Catholic Church believes this.

I went to a "Be a Luthern " class because I was excited about the fact that this particular church believed in SOLO Scriptura, for real.
at the class this came up. The lovely pastor, tried in the kindest way to define, this and Martin Luther himself argued this and agreed with the Catholic Church on the point. Which was a disappointment to me, I could not "sign on"
