All believers are baptized into CHRIST and sealed/covenanted/set apart to GOD through faith in the WORD of TRUTH...that is, the Gospel...Not all believers have the gift(s) of the Holy Spirit.
they don't?

shall I remove those portions of scripture from my Bible that indicate otherwise?

being baptized into Christ is not the same as what some folks here are discussing

you are free to follow your own interpretation of course

there have been reams of scripture offered in this forum that clearly indicate what cessationists deny and folks are free to convince themselves that what they do not have no longer happens

Scripture is there to reveal to us the heart, mind, and will of God. Therefore it is the Word of God. And it is totally sufficient for all believers and for all reasons (2 Tim 3:15-17). So to answer your question, we should not be looking at extra-biblical sources for enlightenment.
That's a misinterpretation of the passage you reference.

Are you going to use the Bible to plant in your garden if you want to harvest potatoes? How about to wash your car? Totally sufficient for all reasons?

The passage says that all scriptures is given that the man of God might be fully equipped.

It does not say that scripture is all that is given that the man of God might be fully equipped. I think you are interpreting it that way. The individual here is a 'man of God' before he can be fully equipped. The passage also talks about two sources of truth, the word he had heard, and the scriptures. Timothy grew up hearing the Old Testament. Then he heard the preaching of the Gospel.

You can give a soldier a rifle so that he might be fully equipped. That is a true statement. It means he is not fully equipped without the rifle. But it does not mean that the rifle is all he needs to be fully equipped. What if he had no helmet, uniform, or bullets. If you give him the rifle will be be fully equipped? Saying scripture is given than the man of God might be fully equipped implies he is not fully equipped without it, but it does not mean that it is all he needs.

As the soldier needs bullets, we need the stuff in the Bible, the stuff the Bible talks about. If you give someone a Bible and he has no faith and has no grace from God in his life, then he is not fully equipped to ever good work. The scriptures teach us about these things.

It does not make sense to say that we do not need baptism because we have the Bible, or that we do not need faith because we have the Bible. Nor does it make sense to say that we do not need spiritual gifts. I Corinthians even uses the word 'need' to describe individuals who have these gifts. One part of the body does not say to the other, "I have no need of thee." So we need the one gifted to prophesy, or the one with the gift of discernment of spirits, etc.

We still need the gift of teaching. Having a copy of the Bible is not sufficient.
We still need love. Having a copy of the Bible is not sufficient.
We still need faith. Having a copy of the Bible is not sufficient. Not without faith.

Scripture is given that the man of God might be fully equipped. The passage does not say that scripture is all that is given that the man of God might be fully equipped. It also does not mean that because we have the Bible we no longer need the things the Bible teaches us to have or teaches us that we need. It does not mean that because we have the Bible we no longer need to believe what it teaches... on spiritual gifts or other topics.

Do they attract the mentally ill, or cause mental illness? I saw a Dr. of theology and Christian author go crazy and kill himself and over 100 people in a Pentecostal sect. And a local Pentecostal lady poured gas on herself and light a match, committing suicide. Something. Both of these were normal before these entanglements.
Well, if that is your church background and experience, that explains a lot.

God gives gifts according to His purpose...for the building up of His Body.

Not our own...

It's all for His glory and to glorify Him

Corinthians also was written because these believers were losing sight of the most important gift..The gift is love...and that outpouring of the Holy Spirit, does not leave any without the filling of the heart and the result, an outpouring of Love...some forget that as they strive for other gifts as if outdoing their brother and sister...but these gifts are for His purpose...and His purpose is to send those whom He calls to build up His Body/Kingdom

All believers are baptized into CHRIST and sealed/covenanted/set apart to GOD through faith in the WORD of TRUTH...that is, the Gospel...Not all believers have the gift(s) of the Holy Spirit.
We're sealed with the Holy Spirit when we get saved which is when we receive by faith the Gift of Salvation by receiving Yeshua/Jesus as our Savior, Lord and King.

Ephesians 1:13 King James Version (KJV)
13 In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,

We're WATER baptized into Christ as being buried with Him and raised to new life in Christ, just as Paul said:

Colossians 2:12 King James Version (KJV)
12 Buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead.

We're BAPTIZED with the Holy Spirit when the Holy Spirit indwells and fills us for the FIRST time - empowering us to be a witness for Yeshua/Jesus Christ in the Earth, AFTER that we need to be CONTINUALLY FILLED daily.

John 14:17 King James Version (KJV)
17 Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he (the Spirit of Truth which is the Holy Spirit) dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.

The Holy Spirit NEVER leaves us but we quench and grieve IT when we let our flesh have it's way, we backslide. We need to stay filled with the Holy Spirit so we can walk by the Spirit and NOT fulfill the lusts of our flesh.

Wrong. That's when they were SEALED. Yeshua/Jesus appeared to His disciples after His resurrection and breathed on them and said Receive the Holy Spirit.

In Acts 2 was the outpouring of the Holy Spirit - they were baptized and filled with the Holy Spirit.
They had already been washed because they believed...they did not and could not receive the HOLY SPIRIT until after His crucifixion and resurrection...please refer to John 13 through 17 Remember, He was preparing them for the Holy Spirit, but He already said they were clean, and that if He did not go, He (that is, the Comforter, could not come)...

Is there a separation in Christ and The Holy Spirt?

Please read carefully john 13 through 17...

When we believe the Gospel, we are washed...but it is only through faith in CHRIST, that HE will send the Comforter who will be with us forever,,,,

Please concentrate on this next verse...

I will not leave you as orphans...I will come to you

Who is coming to us and will be with us forever?

Is Christ separate from the Holy Spirit?
Is the Holy Spirit separate from Christ?

That is the requirement...Faith in the Gospel of God, that is, Christ...after that, after faith in Jesus' work for our salvation, the Holy Spirit comes and we are sealed to GOD, set apart to Him for His purpose as He chooses...These gifts of the Holy Spirit, are for the building up the Body...ministers/witnesses of Christ to a lost world...

We aren´t pointing people to the Holy Spirit, but to CHRIST...for even the Holy SPirit, will not speak of Himself...but will Glorify Christ

This again, is written in Jesus' discourse to his disciples (those yesterday, today and tomorrow) according to John 14 through 17

Ephesians 1:13 King James Version (KJV)

This is true and supported by scripture.

Two different operations. Water baptism is symbolic. The baptism whereby we are risen with Christ is Holy Spirit baptism not water baptism.
We're BAPTIZED with the Holy Spirit when the Holy Spirit indwells and fills us for the FIRST time - empowering us to be a witness for Yeshua/Jesus Christ in the Earth, AFTER that we need to be CONTINUALLY FILLED daily.
The Holy Spirit indwells us the moment we are saved. You are promoting a nonbiblical doctrine. We are indeed filled but we are saved before we are filled and there is no additional measure of the Holy Spirit given after salvation. We have the full measure of the Holy Spirit the moment we are saved.
John 14:17 King James Version (KJV)
17 Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he (the Spirit of Truth which is the Holy Spirit) dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.

Sanctification not salvation is in view in this passage.

The logical extension of what you are espousing is that if one never experiences a great filling of the Holy Spirit they are not saved. This is heresy and not sound doctrine. A baptism of the Holy Spirit in addition to the salvation of the soul is not biblical. A filling of the Holy Spirit as part of our sanctification is biblical.

I think I understand the issue now... Why are we discussing the work of The Holy Spirit apart from the Gospel. Apart from Christ?

Itś confusing and will confuse many.

No One can receive the gifts of the Holy Spirit unless CHRIST first washes them...

We add to scripture unless it says what you claim.
No one is adding to Scripture. The canon is closed, yet God is not confined by the canon. It is simply a microcosm of His interactions with humankind.

God has given us His Son for salvation as a GIFT.
God has also given us His Holy Spirit as a GIFT.

A Gift has to be RECEIVED, not earned or worked for - just simply received. The ONLY way we receive from God is by FAITH.

God will NOT FORCE Salvation on us nor will God FORCE His Holy Spirit on us, we have to RECEIVE BOTH by Faith.

You have received God's Gift of Salvation, great! You are sealed, set apart and consecrated to God.

Now, receive God's Gift of His Holy Spirit - be baptized and filled with the Holy Spirit so you can actually start living this new life God has given you.

How can you suggest such a thing? God will never transgress His own word. For God to act as you suggest would totally render Him unable to judge with perfect righteousness all of His creation.
