on elder care...when worked in retirement villages with care home attached, they all had hand sanitisers and we were told if we had any flu like symptoms not to go inside. When you go in, it always smells strongly of antiseptic. Its a bit sad that some of the residents dont have access to fresh air, though people do their best to grow plants inside.
I just feel so bad for these people that live in these facilities. My grandma lived in a memory care facility and seeing everything that I witnessed just made me feel so sad and now I heard at least in my state that if they have up to a certain amount of underlying medical conditions are passed a certain age they will not give them any medical care which to me is abuse and neglect...we should be doing everything we can unless they tell us not to.

When it's time to answer for actions made, pass the blame to someone else that's really nice.
I matched his tone, where did I blame him...he and I have conversed several times and more or less we got along just fine...but nice how you put yourself on a pedestal it seems

All good.... fyi you are on ignore.

Did that start with the corona virus feeling so bad for people living in those facilities and who said in what state. a lack of medical care for the elderly living in or out of facilities has been a issue for many years where have you been on mars.

I knew this has been an issue for a long time, but I never really comprehended it until I experienced it for myself with my grandma. Ya know its like going to the stores this last week with the shelves being empty. Of course I knew they were empty I heard and saw pictures, but until I saw it for myself it became a true realization of what was going on and what people's reaction to it was. But back to the senior living centers I knew there was some places that were horrible and people that were lonely but until I saw the same people week after week not have a single visitor and the look in their eyes of hopelessness was just devastating that they couldn't even step outside and take a breath of fresh air on their own...they always had to have someone with them. And when my grandma was placed on hospice and they couldn't force her to do anything like eat or take her medications just watch her die was the worst feeling in my entire life because all I wanted to do was give her water and love on her, but she was gone...its just hard.

If I am on ignore as you say I'm not sure if you will see this or not, but I am sorry if you took what I said the wrong way. I have a traumatic brain injury and sometimes I am pretty blunt when it comes to certain things without recognizing feelings so I apologize. With that being said, I am generally a nice person but I also like communicating with people who take responsibility for what they say because it can lead to some wholesome discussions to where I can maybe learn a thing or two because that is why I am here as I am sure why a lot of people are. I just felt like standing up for someone here who I don't know y'alls history but sometimes we can be misunderstood on certain aspects of what we post and that is what I am doing. I don't think what anyone is posting in how they feel in this thread about this virus is incorrect because this is not the news forum these are all our feelings on the subject matter and I get tensions can be rather high considering the circumstances going on so I hope you can reconsider the ignore button and let us move forward and learn to communicate together.

mmm well arent people thankful that the chinese had alerted everyone first rather than just let the virus out and NOT told anyone.
Since the Chinese government has said that it is the USA which has created this bio-weapon, they want the world to know this (propaganda) and feel sorry for China. They have also said that the West has *surrendered* to coronavirus, which means it is a Chinese victory over the Western barbarians. Evidently the epidemic has abated in China.

I can agree that China now being a position where they are sending medical supplies to other countries is not a good thing.

Yes I’ve had experience with these facilities as well, my father died last year and when he was admitted to a care facility he wanted to go to a catholic hospital to be treated which I don’t know why but that caused a complete lack of care attendants to him and died while being transported home.

That is sad... I have absolutely seen with my own eyes how the elderly are written off.

I used to volunteer at long term care facility...I so enjoyed spending time there.. I used laugh with them every time I went...but certainly there was much pain and suffering too.

I dont like the way people build them these days you have to go up stairs to some and the elderly cannot walk up stairs. They are also kept at a temperature that is breeding ground for germs.

I didnt go to my bible study this week, my host was relieved cos she knows I work in school and who knows what Ive picked up. Ive heard some children coughing and sneezing. aie...

However that is my job and will continue till we are told not to or I start showing symptoms. The weird thing is everyone is taking precautions except for schools closing. But its parents who should not be sending children to school sick.

There are several reliable CONSERVATIVE news sources around. You can check them out for yourself. And if it sounds *weird* that is only because the MSM do not give the public the truth. Truth is often stranger than fiction.

Well you should care. China has been waging war against the USA and the West since the days of Mao. But it is called *asymmetrical warfare* since they have not sent soldiers into the USA. But they have been waging economic and cyber warfare (while stealing technology and state secrets), along with propaganda. Take a look at what is happening in the South China Sea, and you will understand China's ambitions.

No handshake, no hugging in church to prevent coronavirus. What do you think about it?

But if someone has the virus, you can catch it from them without even touching them, if they sneeze or cough. So how effective is no handshaking/hugs? I feel that it will just cause folks to be even more unfriendly.

I'm not much of a hugger but handshakes are OK.

I don't know....I just feel we need to practice more hand washing and more use of hand sanitisers. And being aware not to use our unwashed hands to touch our faces.

But even if we adults can avoid touching each other, how will the kids manage? They are bound to play and hold hands etc. And adults hold the hands of kids as well when they are trying to get them to sit still or when they are leading them to the rest room. I'm just thinking up various scenarios...
I for one will not stop shaking hands... If I can find someone to shake hands with! :)

Everyone I greet recently seems peculiarly frightened to shake hands, even when I offer, for reasons unknown. I mean, I know the government is going on about this Corona virus, but since when did anyone believe the government? The cold and 'flu' didn't stop people shaking hands for the last 2 millenia, so it's kind of strange to me that people stop now because the government tells them that the common cold is actually a Corona virus.

If it was in the bible not to shake hands, it would be different. But the bible even talks about holy kisses... :)

shaking hands is a western thing. Also you are meant to spit on your hands before you shake them to show you really want to share your germs.

What is your problem with America? I mean seriously, the world is in crisis right now and you have went on and on with your plain to see, vendetta against the USA.

What is the problem?
