Your hell view doesn't make a whole lot of sense.
killing people in the genocidal sense meant those people had less sin to pay for in hell forever. Less sin doesn't mean diddley when that person is in hell forever. Unborn babies died in the womb when their mother drowned during the flood. What sin do they have to pay for forever?

Then again, Jews don't have a hell so where did that fire and brimstone bottomless pit come from? When it is bottomless how does the fire and brimstone have a place to fire up? And why would God that created everything and knows everything open hell for human souls to enter? When he made the place of suffering for lucifer and the angels that warred in heaven with him against their maker?

God knows all so he opens a place of eternal torture to receive people he made to be there?
you are probably repeating something you heard somwhere its on display.. where did the bottomless pit fire and brimstone come from since "jews dont have a hell"?

Deu_32:22 For a fire is kindled in mine anger, and shall burn unto the lowest hell, and shall consume the earth with her increase, and set on fire the foundations of the mountains.

Psa_9:17 The wicked shall be turned into hell, and all the nations that forget God.

Isa_5:14 Therefore hell hath enlarged herself, and opened her mouth without measure: and their glory, and their multitude, and their pomp, and he that rejoiceth, shall descend into it.

the doctrine of hell can be found in the o.t as well:

Isa 66:24 And they shall go forth, and look upon the carcases of the men that have transgressed against me: for their worm shall not die, neither shall their fire be quenched; and they shall be an abhorring unto all flesh.

Dan 12:2 And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt.

just like in matthew 25:46 some to everlasting life some to everlasting punishment. same word.

My Jewish friends are on display somewhere? Do tell the address I'm certain they'd be intrigued.
Have you ever bothered to find out what Jews believe?

The Talmud says Jesus is in hell boiling in excrement. They certainly do believe in hell.
You don't hold too much contempt for Jews do you. No the Talmud does not say Jesus is suffering that way. What a fabled lie to introduce into a bible discussion forum. You hold a great deal of contempt for Jesus as well I see. Everyone needs a hobby. Yours however just makes you look like you need Jesus. Right after he extricates himself from the boil? Pathetic!

It's in the Soncino Babylonian Talmud and the 1906 Jewish encyclopedia. Google it and see for yourself.

The filth must be cleansed away. Praise God he cleans up the mess thoroughly.

I think we have to remember that God judges us on an individual level, so I think the innocents will be spared despite the genocide.

Say that God ordered the use of the atomic bomb on Japan during WWII. A lot of innocent people were killed as a result (women, children, grandmothers, etc.). A lot of Americans will not hesitate to say that this was a just decision. I think God will judge the innocents with respect to afterlife separately.

However, overall I don't think there is a good answer for this question that will please atheists. A lot of Christians also struggle with this question. If one does not struggle at all with this question, I would question whether this person has any empathy.

1. The Flood (Genesis 6-8)
2. The cities of the plain, including Sodom and Gomorrah (Genesis 18-19)
3. The Egyptian firstborn sons during the Passover (Exodus 11-12)
4. The Canaanites under Moses and Joshua (Numbers 21:2-3; Deuteronomy 20:17; Joshua 6:17, 21)
5. The Amalekites annihilated by Saul (1 Samuel 15)
Its the sin and there ungodliness influence. The wages of sin is death!

Trying to refute a nonbeliever’s false accusation towards God will most likely be a fruitless endeavor, as it is typically not the intention of the nonbeliever to understand, but to regurgitate excuses for their hatred of God.

If however, the nonbeliever is sincere in seeking the Lord and is asking you to help them over this hurdle then open the book. This will take time, not something that can be rushed.

In the meantime I would encourage you to prayerfully study each of these situations in scripture, the reasons are always given.

All for Jesus.

Ok
Judgement is directly connected to sin.
It gets back to the ORIGINAL DILEMMA.
HOLY GOD.....SINFUL MAN.
Those two can not mix.
Let's take the flood
1) the gene pool was corrupted.....Gods plan has a lineage. Without the lineage ,Gods plan will not work.
But aside from that, I've heard people say "I can not serve a God that kills babies and puppies",referring to the flood.
But let's view it from heaven.
Noah leans over the rail and looks at thousands of dead bodies.
Noah says "dear God,the horrors of sin."
It is his world and creation.
Whatever he does is correct.
If you have another perspective...it is simply not from God.

Your view of God as someone who supports genocide is wrong. I think in today's world, humans are responsible for the majority of the genocide that's happening. All the things that you've quoted from the Bible here did happen. But not without cause. The flood happened because people went about their way not acknowledging God or heeding his call to repent and change their old ways. Our God is a Just God and He always gives people the chance and the time to change. The Egyptian firstborn sons were killed in retribution for what Pharaoh did to the Hebrew firstborns and his stubbornness in not letting the Israelites go from Egypt. As for Canaanites and the Amalekites, God was with His people when they needed Him and genocide did happen as a result.

Now all this happened in the Old Testament of the Bible. And all of it is not applicable in today's world. Slavery, Genocide and so many other things which were ok back then is not ok now. When Christ died for our sins, all this changed. We as God's children have a new life in God is what I feel and it is what Christianity is about. Christianity is about Jesus Christ and what He gave the world. What Jesus gives is a way for each and every individual to save their souls. It's a kingdom not of this world. It's a life of detachment from what is of the world.

And Jesus clearly says to every one of His followers,"If any of you want to come with me, you must forget yourself, carry your cross, and follow me." Matthew Chapter 16:24. Of course, men do what men do best. Monetize everything. Including God and religion. Use God and Religion for politics.

So no, God does not support genocide. Especially when it is done by human beings upon each other. He asks us to love one another and forgive one another. Vengeance and retribution are His. What we have to do is allow God to take control of our lives. Christians are called to live a peaceful life. And a Christian who holds Christian values in his or her life will not live life easily as it is wrought with hardship. But God will help us through it all. One more thing. God's name was, is and will always be used as an excuse for people to kill each other. You have to look at who profits from the killing you will get your answer. I know this is a lot to read and I know that I am replying to the first conversation in the thread. I just thought to address this as it interested me. Thanks and God bless.

I have seen the bottomless pit. It is a volcano. "And he opened the bottomless pit, and smoke arose out of the pit like the smoke of a great furnace. So the sun and the air were darkened because of the smoke of the pit." (Rev 9:2)

If we die and God brings us back again does that count? Or are we required to die again and again and again?
The wages of sin is death, and God pays what's due.

1. The Flood (Genesis 6-8)
2. The cities of the plain, including Sodom and Gomorrah (Genesis 18-19)
This was judgement upon these people because of the evil they did.. God declares that the penalty for sin is death and demonstrated this on a number of occasions Sodom and Gomorrah being one such example..

3. The Egyptian firstborn sons during the Passover (Exodus 11-12)
This was God avenging the Hebrews for the attempted genocide the Egyptians tried to carry out upon the Hebrews..

The account of the policy of the Egyptian Pharaoh was detailed in the book of Genesis..

Exodus 1: KJV
22 "And Pharaoh charged all his people, saying, Every son that is born ye shall cast into the river, and every daughter ye shall save alive."

You should know the story of Moses and how He was placed in a basket into the river Nile and was fortunate to survive because of the intervention of an Egyptian woman..

4. The Canaanites under Moses and Joshua (Numbers 21:2-3; Deuteronomy 20:17; Joshua 6:17, 21)

5. The Amalekites annihilated by Saul (1 Samuel 15)
Again it was judgement from God upon these peoples because of the evil they did..

God never did anything like this without justification.. He did not destroy people for nothing..
