Prove it's the virus and not the 5G towers. Because the proof of what the risk actually is changes who is the one putting them at risk, does it not? If the risk is a virus, the pastor may have had a role to play. If the risk was caused by a change in the Earth's electric field brought on by 5G radiation, the pastor had nothing to do with it (but someone else did).
I’ve been reading about this. Do you think it’s a valid explanation?

I used to work in the medical field man, I know the difference between an airborne virus and 5G radiation. Which would just affect those at or near those towers. and is not something that can be spread from person to person.

Is 5G a threat? I am sure it might be, But when they came out with cell phones, they said everyone would get brain cancer. Well that was debunked correct?

The problem is you want me to stay home like you .. It's the mark of the liberal left, they want to make the rules for all other folks ..
Do you think it's reasonable to shut the whole country down on rumor while waiting on the Microsoft guy to come up with a vaccine ?

This is the statement I disagreed with. Prove it, if it is true. The statement is simply not true, and a parroting of what unscientific propagandists may hypothesise on television, to keep up the fear-mongering.
Those unscientific propagandists are doctors at the CDC.. hardly "rumor spreaders" They are the ones who have found out that a person can be contagious up to 2 weeks before showing any symptoms.

I wonder if the threat of a virus would have kept Paul down?
are we talking about bringing the gospel to areas of the world where it has never been heard of before?
or about . . whatever it is a congregation normally does once a week when they meet together?

it was brought up before, and i really think it's a very important thing to discuss -- many, many churches are streaming music and sermons online right now while precautions against the spread of disease are either prohibiting or discouraging large groups of people together in enclosed spaces.

does this count as "church" when you aren't physically in the same room as the choir or worship band or preacher or whatever?
does this count as "assembling together" when it is done via technology instead of in-the-flesh?

if not what is missing? what is the necessary thing that cannot be accomplished without physical, fleshly proximity to each other?

It is customary

Both I guess. Of all this, would a virus keep Paul from carrying out his ministry? I was solely talking about Paul of whom I am not. Probably the only thing that we are limited on right now is evangelizism.

23 Are they ministers of Christ? (I speak as a fool) I am more; in labours more abundant, in stripes above measure, in prisons more frequent, in deaths oft.
24 Of the Jews five times received I forty stripes save one.
25 Thrice was I beaten with rods, once was I stoned, thrice I suffered shipwreck, a night and a day I have been in the deep;
26 In journeyings often, in perils of waters, in perils of robbers, in perils by mine own countrymen, in perils by the heathen, in perils in the city, in perils in the wilderness, in perils in the sea, in perils among false brethren;
27 In weariness and painfulness, in watchings often, in hunger and thirst, in fastings often, in cold and nakedness.
28 Beside those things that are without, that which cometh upon me daily, the care of all the churches.
29 Who is weak, and I am not weak? who is offended, and I burn not?

I get your point if you have faith in them , the same ones probably spewed out that our coastlines would be 10 ' under water by now ..
But you have to admit that since coronavirus deaths are up that death by heart failure is way down ..

People are reluctant to believe that this whole business is a conspiracy to destroy the West but the proof is in the pudding. Coronavirus (or a variety of it) has been known about since 2005. Recently several doctors, including researchers in Israel, have successfully produced a vaccine. Anti-malarial drugs combined with antibiotics have been found to be effective but were scoffed at. On the other hand, the CDC hacks -- who should have been actively involved with handling this professionally and properly -- have been simply fear-mongering in order to shut down the country.

A lot of misinformation and wild speculation has been presented as gospel truth. But this is another Hoax to undermine everything positive. When they start out predicting millions of death, and then systematically reduce the numbers (as though they were responsible for the improvement) it shows that someone is manipulating the issue from behind the scenes. Bill Gates may be the major conspirator (if he is ever investigated).

I wonder if paul would have put his people in danger like some of these people are doing?
especially in a really unnecessary way?

that's why i think we should talk about whether physically congregating is a necessity, in this day and age when we are so virtually connected.

it's not like we can't talk to each other.
it's not like we can't hear the Word preached and taught.
it's not like we can't hear music, play music, and sing.
it's not like we can't pray.

what is missing?
eating and drinking communion together? does it not count if it's not the whole congregation sharing a common cup?
laying on of hands?

i'm not suggesting we should stop having church altogether because hey we got Skype or something.

i'm asking whether during this time of hardship whether we're really being denied some essential thing if we don't meet in the flesh in groups of more than about a dozen people. and if we are, i'm hoping we put our heads together about exactly which essential things we can't do without being in the flesh next to each other, why they are essential, and what can be done to not become lawbreakers while being obedient to our faith.

Yes, we can fellowship with one another by e-mail and phone, but it is not the same as fellowship one another in person. Where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I also.

Ok.... got my tin-foil hat securely pulled down over my ears.....

Now... do you have any documentation about the "several doctors, including researchers in Israel.." ? I would be very interested to read about the successful vaccine for Covid 19. (as would the whole nation, I expect)

Which CDC "hacks" should have been involved? It seems as though Pres Trump has SEVERAL experts from the CDC involved in this whole episode.

I'm not saying there is no fear-mongering... but nearly all of that is done by the media, in order to have something to bleat about, 24-7.

If you think there is nothing to this, then I suggest you go french-kiss a deathly ill victim of this virus, then get back to us in a couple of weeks, and let us know how it's going for you. I mean, wouldn't that PROVE it's all a hoax?

The pastor of any local church is the shepherd of those sheep. The shepherd is to love and care for them. What he did was very wrong, in my opinion. Seems like there was a church that met, and 20+ became infected with COVID-19. If the pastor truly cares for his flock, he would not put them in potential peril.
I don't believe in the whole Pastor is a shepherd over the sheep thing. Jesus is our Shepard. No man is but anyway, what I wanted to say was, it was each individuals decision to go to that service, they are responsible for the decisions they make. Probably a result after years of conditioning being told that they have to attend a service every Sunday.
