Hi! I have not posted here in years (I think it has been 4 years from my last post?). Anyways, I would consider myself a fundamentalist Christian. To be sure my opinions about the scripture and what it says are right, it would be great to get someone (preferably a guy around my age) to challenge me on my opinions. Would anyone be up for this? I have been trying to "debate" or talk with older people, but often it seems as if talking with them is not as fruitful as talking with young people. Of course, talking with older people is important as well, and if some older people feel lead to talk to me, you can contact or message me right away!

But anyways, would anyone want to debate, or just come talk about life?

Hi. I am new here and try to say at least one thing per day to someone so here it is. What qualifies as a younger person or older person? I'm 34 and have had people in their 60s incorrectly refer to me as a baby. Conversely, I've also talked to people 15+ years younger than myself who think I'm still young relative to what the average lifespan of a male in the US is. How old are you and what do you think the pros and cons are of talking to different age groups?

so, obviously in Christianity it’s a sin to be gay, because God killed the men of Sodom and Gomorrah, who were engaging in homosexual activities. But what if your an openly gay, practicing Christian who goes to church every Sunday? Would it then be forgiven?

I John 1:8-10 one must confess their sin to God and ask for forgiveness. Part of this is turning away from doing that sin. Everyone has some form of temptation --- that is not sin. It becomes sin when one gives into temptation.

1 Corinthians 10:13
Easy-to-Read Version
13 The only temptations that you have are the same temptations that all people have. But you can trust God. He will not let you be tempted more than you can bear. But when you are tempted, God will also give you a way to escape that temptation. Then you will be able to endure it.

1 John 1:8-10
Easy-to-Read Version
8 If we say that we have no sin, we are fooling ourselves, and the truth is not in us. 9 But if we confess our sins, God will forgive us. We can trust God to do this. He always does what is right. He will make us clean from all the wrong things we have done. 10 If we say that we have not sinned, we are saying that God is a liar and that we don’t accept his true teaching.

2 Corinthians 7:9
Now I rejoice, not that ye were made sorry, but that ye sorrowed to repentance: for ye were made sorry after a godly manner, that ye might receive damage by us in nothing.

2 Corinthians 12:21
And lest, when I come again, my God will humble me among you, and that I shall bewail many which have sinned already, and have not repented of the uncleanness and fornication and lasciviousness which they have committed.

Hebrews 6:1
Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God,

2 Peter 3:9
The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

The word Repent is a military term meaning about face.

I think it's hard for me to discuss this topic, because we don't know what kind of reasons and experiences can cause people to be gay. And whether homosexual repentance should be the same as that of normal people.

We should forgive others for their mistakes, but I think homosexual repentance can hardly become a normal sexual orientation.
