“And he said, Hear thou therefore the word of the LORD: I saw the LORD sitting on his throne, and all the host of heaven standing by him on his right hand and on his left. And the LORD said, Who shall persuade Ahab, that he may go up and fall at Ramoth-gilead? And one said on this manner, and another said on that manner. And there came forth a spirit, and stood before the LORD, and said, I will persuade him. And the LORD said unto him, Wherewith? And he said, I will go forth, and I will be a lying spirit in the mouth of all his prophets. And he said, Thou shalt persuade him, and prevail also: go forth, and do so. Now therefore, behold, the LORD hath put a lying spirit in the mouth of all these thy prophets, and the LORD hath spoken evil concerning thee.” 1 Kings 22:19–23 (KJV 1900)

Scripture said it, I just posted it.
Notice it was the lying spirit, not God who did it. If God would have caused those prophets to lie, then He would have sinned, as that contradicts James 1:13. But by Him sending a lying spirit to do it, He didn’t cause it Himself. He used it to do the job for Him.

As the 2LBCoF so aptly states it...God hath decreed in himself, from all eternity, by the most wise and holy counsel of his own will, freely and unchangeably, all things, whatsoever comes to pass; yet so as thereby is God neither the author of sin nor hath fellowship with any therein; nor is violence offered to the will of the creature, nor yet is the liberty or contingency of second causes taken away, but rather established; in which appears his wisdom in disposing all things, and power and faithfulness in accomplishing his decree.
( Isaiah 46:10; Ephesians 1:11; Hebrews 6:17; Romans 9:15, 18; James 1:13; 1 John 1:5; Acts 4:27, 28; John 19:11; Numbers 23:19; Ephesians 1:3-5 )

you should probably be trying to sort out why time exists instead of trying to blame God for your own sins.
He hasn’t figured out primary and secondary causes. By God sending the lying spirit to do the desired job, He can’t be accused of making the false prophets lie. That is a prime example of a secondary cause employed by God.

God's first cause determines all secondary causes.

But whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in Me to sin, it would be better for him if a millstone were hung around his neck, and he were drowned in the depth of the sea. Woe to the world because of offenses! For offenses must come, but woe to that man by whom the offense comes!
(Matthew 18:6-7)
what do you think, Dave?
would Christ be better off drowned in the sea with a millstone around His neck?
woe unto God, is that the byline?

That is not what the verses state. God did not send lying spirits, nor did God use lying spirits to "do the job for Him".

In 1 Kings 22:19-23, God revealed to Ahab that Ahab's prophets were lying to him.

All 400 of Ahabs prophets told Ahab to go to Ramothgilead (1 Kings 22:6).

Micaiah told Ahab that if he went to Ramothgilead he would die and Israel would be without a king (1 Kings 22:17).

Micaiah told Ahab that Ahab's prophets lied to him (1 Kings 22:19-23).

Micaiah told Ahab that if Ahab returned in peace those were not the words of the Lord (1 Kings 22:28).

Ahab chose not to believe God. Ahab chose to follow the words of his own lying prophets. Ahab was killed because of his decision to not listen to God ... even after God told Ahab that Ahab's prophets were lying to him.

I believe also that the scripture in Romans sums up so well....

Satan is a vessel God has used since the dawn of human time for His purposes. We must remember God has always, and will always be in control.

He tossed out satan and his minions but He was not done showing them the error of their ways. In fact, He used what was meant to harm and made it beautiful. He did it all with Christ.

And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.
Romans 8:28 NASB

Iniquity was found in satan and in us as well because of his deception. We like the dark one, were given a choice. I think that alone shows God's goodness, especially when we see that He sent His only begotten Son to redeem us.

We mustn't ever forget that any dark or evil thing, God can and will use for His purposes...

Let me say... Holy Master, thank You for Your tender-mercies and for Your patience as we come together to reason. Your ways are not ours, nor are our thoughts Yours. Please forgive me, if I have it wrong. I never want to put you in a box, or speak with arrogance, assuming I understand You. I know You are all good...pure truth, power, love, justice and righteousness; I reach my soul to only You. If I have said anything foolish or in error, please forgive my ignorance on Your Matters. Thank you for all Your ways, to You I bow.

He created people who love sin. He caused it when he created them.
He sowed good seed, and the Enemy sowed tares. He will preserve His harvest, 'that He might be just and the Justifier of him which believeth in Jesus'

Instead of accusing God (as Satan) be like a child. He loves to talk to children..,who know how to just shut up and listen.

another thing about children is that they have way more questions than answers -- also of the answers they do have, many of them are quite wrong, owing to their ignorance. :)

God created Adam sinless. But when God gave him a law, he wanted to sin more than anything.
wow you ought to look more closely at Genesis 3!
Adam did not want to be separated from his wife, and subjected himself knowingly and willingly to death in order to be with her. he is a type of Christ, who likewise - but in the Lord's case perfectly rather than sinfully - offered His own blood in order to secure to Himself His bride.

Out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks.

Taking Scripture out of context to judge another brother/sister in Christ doesn't make you right. It makes you judgemental. But it's ok, I forgive you cause God made you do it :)
