Matthew if I’m not mistaken was the tax collector, I’ve read Mark could have translated for Peter, Luke mentions passed down from others and says to give a account of them collectively.

All were divinely inspired and all wrote as the Holy Spirit directed them. No one borrowed from anyone, and Luke's Gospel was given "from above" (anothen). Naturally there would be correspondence, but there was also divergence. Therefore all should be harmonized.

though there is in Luke the account a little to close to when Jesus is brought out it can be misconstrued I think. it’s like John 19:14 was place right in the middle of before the crucifix verse 14 couldn’t have happened at the sixth hour for in Marks account Jesus was crucified at the third hour something is at a miss here. I think verse 14 of John is when Pilate came to the place called the skull at high noon.

Mark 15:25
25 It was the third hour when they crucified Him.

John 19:13-15
13 When Pilate heard these words, he brought Jesus out and sat on the judgment seat at a place called the Stone Pavement, which in Hebrewa is Gabbatha.

14 It was the day of Preparation for the Passover, about the sixth hour. And Pilate said to the Jews, “Here is your King!”

15 At this, they shouted, “Away with Him! Away with Him! Crucify Him!” “Shall I crucify your King?” Pilate asked. “We have no king but Caesar,” replied the chief priests.

I mean no harm on the thread title, but if I’m not mistaken the romans used a tee post type of crucifix, the middle post had the sign attached to the back of the tee post thus the cross IMO.

Everyone present witnessed the passion of Christ. Jesus didn't suffer like any other man. His passion revealed His innocence and His love for God and men especially those who put Him to death. No one There denied that Jesus is innocent or suffering injustice. What they denied was Him as saviour. Not as much Him but the salvation He offered. The only salvation acceptable for the wicked was preventing death of the body. The bad Thief echoed the voice of Satan ." if you are the son of God....." The wicked want God to do things their way....they say.

The good thief was no longer focused on his imminent death and saving his body from death but on his eternal destiny. He came to understand that He needed the salvation Jesus offered. He had obviously heard the Gospel message but didnt connect the dots until He saw Christ's passion on the cross.
