"This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; Having a form of Godliness (refers to all the trappings of Christianity, but without the power), but denying the power thereof (the modern Church, for all practical purposes, has denied the Cross; in doing this, they have denied that through which the Holy Spirit works, and in Whom the power resides [Rom. 8:1-2, 11; I Cor. 1:18]): from such turn away (No half measures are to be adopted here. The command is clear! It means to turn away from Churches that deny or ignore the Cross.) II Tim. 3:1-5

The Bible doesn’t teach that the situation is going to get better and better, but, as stated here, worse and worse. It also teaches, as we see from Verse 5, that the Church will go into total apostasy. It will have, and presently has, “a form of Godliness, but denies the power thereof.”

What does “denying the power thereof” mean?

Paul said, “For the preaching of the Cross is to them who perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved, it is the Power of God” (I Cor. 1:18).

The Church is in apostasy; it has fallen asleep. The Church faith is not in Christ and Him Crucified, but only Christ. In other words they are proclaiming Christ while forsaking the Cross (the Blood of Jesus). Which is another Jesus. It has made a covenant with the Evil One, and the price is the blindness of the right eye, spiritually speaking; now they cannot see what is right or what is wrong (I Sam. 11:1-2). No covenant can be made with Satan — not of any nature. If we make anything the object of our faith other than Christ and His Cross, we are, in effect, whether we realize it or not, making a covenant with Satan.

As stated, the Church has already apostatized. The Church Age opened with Christ standing in the midst of the candlesticks, in which the candlesticks represent the Church (Rev. 1:12-13). At the close of the Church Age, which pertains to the present time, we no longer find Christ in the midst of the Church, but rather outside, knocking on the door, trying to get in (Rev. 3:17-20). The Lord is, in fact, no longer dealing with the institutionalized Church as a whole, but rather with individuals only.

“If any man hear My Voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with Me” (Rev. 3:20). So, who presently is saved?

As there was a “Remnant” in Israel who were saved, meaning that most were lost, likewise, there also is a “Remnant” in the modern Church who are saved, but only a Remnant. Israel had rejected much of that which was of the Lord, but when they rejected the Cross, there was nothing left. They were cut off. The modern Church has done the same thing. It has rejected much which is of the Lord, but now it is rejecting the Cross. As with Israel, if the Cross is rejected, that means the Righteousness of God is rejected, and that means the Church is also cut off — except for the “Remnant.”

Are you in the Remnant?

The only way that anyone can be in the Remnant is by accepting Christ and what Christ did at the Cross. There is no other way!"’

Many shall be purified, and made white, and tried; but the wicked shall do wickedly: and none of the wicked shall understand; but the wise shall understand” (Dan. 12:3, 10).

The coronavirus can’t hold a candle to the days coming ahead. The perilous times coming God is going to strip America from all the things they are trusting in and having faith in that is not of Christ and Him Crucified. Because of iniquity, love is waxing cold.

Perilous times speaks of difficult dangerous times (and deception), which Christians are now living in just before the Rapture of the Church. The world economy is now collapsing due to the noisy pestilence world wide. The scriptures teaches us that there will be more tares than wheat in the Endtimes Church (Matthew 13:33, Revelation 3:14-22). It says that those who call themselves Christians will have a form of Godiness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.

My question is? What does it mean to have a form of Godliness (those who call themselves Christians), but denying the power thereof?
Outward form applies to those who follow a signs and wonder gospel. (outside cup clean) That happens when taking the temporal things seen and not converting to give us that faithful understanding . (2 Corinthians 4:18) The shadow worshippers. Those who literalize the signified understanding.

Denying the power is making the word of God the gospel without effect. Thinking that power is of them and not the treasure we have in us Christ.

2 Corinthians 4:King James Version But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us.

Nineveh wasn’t overthrown because they repented and cried out to God, and in turn God changed His mind and did not do what He said He was going to do. It’s that simple.

But, it is God who causes people to repent. So it is all part of his unchangeable plan, wouldn't you say?

God doesn’t cause people to repent. People repent through their own decisions when faced with God’s word.

Jonah 3

5 So the people of Nineveh believed God, and proclaimed a fast, and put on sackcloth, from the greatest of them even to the least of them.
6 For word came unto the king of Nineveh, and he arose from his throne, and he laid his robe from him, and covered him with sackcloth, and sat in ashes.
7 And he caused it to be proclaimed and published through Nineveh by the decree of the king and his nobles, saying, Let neither man nor beast, herd nor flock, taste any thing: let them not feed, nor drink water:
8 But let man and beast be covered with sackcloth, and cry mightily unto God: yea, let them turn every one from his evil way, and from the violence that is in their hands.
9 Who can tell if God will turn and repent, and turn away from his fierce anger, that we perish not?
10 And God saw their works, that they turned from their evil way; and God repented of the evil, that he had said that he would do unto them; and he did it not.

And how does this relate to Nineveh before the cross?

There’s only two options. God lied, or God changed His mind. Which was it?

“For I am the LORD, I change not; Therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed.” Malachi 3:6 (KJV 1900)
= you call God a liar?

Nope, God simply changed His mind. He has the authority to do that you know.

Any change in God's mind would be to imperfection. His plan is perfect.

Your opinions don’t matter in regards to Scripture. You should match your opinions up with what Scripture actually says.

Did God lie?
Or
Did God change His mind?

You cannot have faith in him either way.

If he changes his mind, faith is impossible.
Please explain using scripture?

If you say God doesn’t change His mind, then you have to determine God lied to Nineveh.

You are calling him a liar. Not me.

How? God changing His mind is not lying. I know this cuts your theology in half, but...change your theology to align with Scripture.
