There was a time that I too was an object of God’s wrath, but when I placed my trust in Jesus Christ, God’s wrath was lifted and now I have peace with God.

More accurately, God poured out his wrath meant for you on Jesus instead. So he could justly save you instead. And in time giving you a new heart that would believe in him and seek to live a holy life instead.
You stumble at what you know not. God is full of mercy and longsuffering toward the lost. Calvinists see only harsh judgment and overlook the mercy of God. You forget that you were at one time afar off and an enemy of God.
God wants us to show mercy to our enemies and His. We are to pray for them to be saved.

That's not Scripture. The word elect, in Scripture, is always a reference to one God has called to serve. There are elect angels, Israel the elect nation in the OT, elect witnesses in the tribulation, God's elect Son, etc...it is never a reference to someone being elected for salvation.
