1 Cor 11:
24 And when he had given thanks, he brake it, and said, Take, eat: this is my body, which is broken for you: this do in remembrance of me.
(NOTE: Two ""keys"" here: ""eat this is my body, which is broken for you"" ""this do in remembrance of me"")

25 After the same manner also he took the cup, when he had supped, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood: this do ye, as oft as ye drink it, in remembrance of me.
(NOTE: Two ""keys"" here: ""This cup is the new testament in my blood"" ""drink it, in remembrance of me"")

26 For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do shew the Lord's death till he come.
(NOTE: Every time we partake, we are to "remember" what His broken body & shed blood represent)

27 Wherefore whosoever shall eat this bread, and drink this cup of the Lord, unworthily, shall be guilty of the body and blood of the Lord.
(NOTE: You're making a mistake if you don't know what your partaking in & why. This is an important Christ given ordinance (Jn 6:53). King James dictionary defines Communion: As fellowship/intercourse between 2 persons or more. Misuse of this Christ given ordinance can lead to chastisement.

Vine's Dictionary Definition: DISCERNING:
1 Cor. 11:29, with reference to partaking of the bread and the cup of the Lord's Supper unworthily, ""by not ""discerning"" or discriminating/understanding what they represent"')

28 But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of that bread, and drink of that cup.
(NOTE: His body was sacrificed/broken for you/us (Isa 53 4-6, 1 Pet 2:24, Matt 6:49-59, 8:17) & His blood was sacrificed/shed for you/us (Matt 26:28). We are to know/understand these principle truths, prior to partaking & remember them forevermore.)

Addition context:
Exodus 12:43-48. No foreigners, servants, sojourners or strangers could partake in the in the Passover meal unless they were circumcised. Also see Gen 17:7-14

1 Cor 11:27 Who ever eats this bread, & drinks this cup of the Lord, unworthily, will be guilty of the body & blood of the Lord
(NOTE: I've seen many people/teachers/preachers tie/force sin into this verse. Jesus who gave the ordinance, PAID, for the believers sins. This NT verse is 1st warning NON-believers. OT Uncircumcised were forbidden to partake in the Passover meal. NT NON-believers are not to partake in this NT ordinance & 2ndly, communion misuse by a believer can lead to chastisement

Ex 12:14 And this day shall be unto you for a memorial; and ye shall keep it a feast to the LORD throughout your generations; ye shall keep it a feast by an ordinance for ever.
(NOTE: This day shall be MEMORIAL. Remembrance & memorial are synonyms)

1 Cor 11:24 And when he had given thanks, he brake it, and said, Take, eat: this is my body, which is broken for you: this do in remembrance of me. 25 After the same manner also he took the cup, when he had supped, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood: this do ye, as oft as ye drink it, in remembrance of me
(NOTE: Do this in REMEMBRANCE of me)

Passover & The Lords Supper/Communion are both God given as meals of memorial/remembrance.

For Jews, deliverance from slavery & 10th plague/angel of death. For Christians deliverance from sin & death

Like OT Passover meal the NT Last Supper ended with the singing Hallel hymns (Ps 113-118 - Mat 26:30 & Mk 14:26)

Additional context:
Isa 53:
4 Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted.

5 But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.

1 Pet 2:
23 Who, when he was reviled, reviled not again; when he suffered, he threatened not; but committed himself to him that judgeth righteously:

24 Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.

Matt 8:17 That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the prophet, saying, Himself took our infirmities, and bare our sicknesses.

(NOTE: Isaiah, Peter & Matthew all accentuate: Christs Body was Broken, for our spiritual & physical health.

Jesus willingly sacrificed his body for us:

Matt 26:
52 Jesus said; Put away your sword:

53 Thinkest thou that I cannot now pray to my Father, and he shall presently give me more than twelve legions of angels?
(NOTE: All I need do is ask & the Father will immediately send many legions of angels)

54 But how then shall the scriptures be fulfilled, that thus it must be?

Matt 27:
50 Jesus, when he had cried again with a loud voice & died.
51 And, behold, the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom; and the earth did quake, and the rocks rent;

(NOTE: Cherubim were sent in Eden (Gen 3:24) to remove sinful man. Cherubim were embroidered on the veil (Ex 26:31) that separated sinful man from the Holy of Holies where the presents dwelt)

52 And the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints which slept arose,
53 And came out of the graves after his resurrection, and went into the holy city, and appeared unto many.

(NOTE: Many OT saints rose & followed Jesus after his resurrection)
