But you're equating keeping God's commandments with working for salvation.
This is a false equality.

John 14:15
"If you love me, keep my commandments"

If that's what you want to believe that's fine.

I notice that you have ignored my offer to bring this merry-go-round to an end (post 455).
You could bring it to an end by stating which of God's commandments Christians are supposed to keep.

You've failed to spell it out for 20 pages or so, it would appear that you want this back and forth.

I can’t keep the Lords commandments in my own strength...I certainly don’t worry about keeping them....because if you do that...then you are relying on yourself..

I rely on the Holy Spirit ,he is my helper.....you can not rely on self....that is my belief.......when I became born again....I have had to learn to die to self....and surrender to the Holy Spirit.
Please read my post 449....I stand by it.
Hi @jackrosie

I've read your post and quoted it above. I agree with it.

I think that the title of this thread has tainted how people interpret what the actual message of this thread is.

OK, well I'm not going to go backwards and forwards with you.
This is partly because I'm in the UK and it's getting quite late now, but mostly because I don't want to continue a personal argument with a brother.

So, can we agree to bring this to an end now?

I'm agreeing to nothing.

See, you can't bring yourself to spell out what commandments. It's really easy IF you know what you talking about. But all we have from you is evasion.

Ok...yes it can get confusing when it’s so fast paced.

At least you are a civil person...when you discuss......I appreciate that....God Bless...I’m out of here now.

OK, if that's what you wish to believe, that's your choice.

OK brother, I'm afraid your wish to continue this to-and-fro isn't going to be granted. It's late here in the UK and I'm tucking in for the night.

All my Bible love x :)

The only good works that save us are the ones Jesus did.
If you are relying on your own good works you are doomed.
Nobody is saying otherwise.

Admittedly the thread title has thrown people off of the message, perhaps understandably.
But what is actually being said is this:

We are reconciled with God through belief in our Lord Jesus Christ.
Only Jesus Christ, and our faith in him, reconciles us with God.

We are told to
1. Have faith in Jesus, AND
2. Do our best to stop sinning and rebelling against God

John 14:15
"If you love me, keep my commandments"

Ecclesiastes 12:13
"Now all has been heard; here is the conclusion of the matter: Fear God and keep his commandments, for this is the duty of all mankind.".

We will never be able to stop sinning because of our imperfect nature and so we will never be able to reach the standard of God through any works.
However, Jesus makes up for this shortfall and reconciles us with God.

BUT, the point of this thread is that if we do not consciously turn away from sin and do our best to stop rebelling against God once we accept Jesus into our lives, Jesus' sacrifice will not cover those sins:

Hebrews 10:26
"Dear friends, if we deliberately continue sinning after we have received knowledge of the truth, there is no longer any sacrifice that will cover these sins".

This makes sense: if we say that we follow Jesus but continue to deliberately sin, then are we REALLY following him?

I do love you.
Is that Biblical love reciprocated?

Sposed to be off to bed at 9:30 pm yUK time, still not answering which commandments Christians are to keep. This is totally dishonest evasive behaviour.

I suspect DBarrage is some sort of cultist.
