The anti-LGBT speech is the reason NYC cited. The same reason they are anti-Chick-Fil-A.

The thing is, Samaritan's Purse was HELPING any LGBT patient who walked in their tent doors. And originally, NYC allowed Samaritan's Purse to set up shop in East Central Park. That is city property. Officials reversed course on them after they (and Covid patients) were already there.

Not all New Yorkers feel the same way about it, though. The New York Post wrote some choice words about it in an opinion piece. The writer said something along the lines of, "Yes, of course evangelicals do not believe in homosexuality. That's just what they believe. But they were willing to volunteer to help New York, and Andrew Cuomo should already know to never look a gift horse in the mouth. Although when New Yorkers speak of Andrew Cuomo, usually it's the other end of the horse they are talking about." The New York Post's words.

Hi from the UK,

The UK is hardly handling the coronavirus crisis well (worst in Europe!) but I can't believe that in the USA you have so called leaders allowing bureaucracy to stand in the way of progress.
Oh well, I guess it's in these people's nature.
Our government knew about it as early as December of last year but didn't take any action until it was too late

Maybe the city of New York sees his organization as a liability
Yeah well they didn't until a group of LGBTLMNOQ people came out and started a fuss over Graham being there. To which I would say " then go in the field and take their place, or shut up".

Yeah well he can forget them. Sending people with the Wuhan virus back into nursing homes isn't going to win him any prizes. He and his idiot brother are a pair. smh

Action was taken when people from China were blocked from coming into the country in Jan. and that was called racism. They had possibly a few cases. You can't shut down a country on a handful of cases. Put the blame where it belongs, China.

Samaritans Purse receives a lot of support and they put it to use as well as any ministry I've seen and first class with the simple Jesus Gospel Truth .. Good for Franklin and supporters that the ministry receives persecution for doing good in Jesus name ..

What disappoints me to no end are the people who are doing the persecuting.

Franklin Graham had made comments about he agrees with Russia's persecution of LGBT people

So this is not MSM reporting this, so first of all I don't take these news sources seriously. But I did give it a read and according to them, and I don't have time to check these claims, this is what he said...

“But he (Obama) supports and promotes policies that contradict the teachings of God. As a Christian I believe that abortion is murder, he supports it. Homosexuality and same-sex marriage — those are sins against God, and the President is promoting them."

“I’m not against homosexuals as people. But God commanded that marriage should be between a man and a woman."

“And I very much appreciate that President Putin is protecting Russian young people against homosexual propaganda. If only to give them the opportunity to grow up and make a decision for themselves.”

I would say that he should have left Putin out of it altogether. Other than that, I see nothing wrong with what he said according to the Bible.

a shame

I helped Samaritans Purse for a summer doing Operation Christmas Child sorting gifts. They are a huge ministry and very well organised, so NYC are really shooting themselves in the foot for refusing their help.

They have the means to fly to developing countries and outreach to millions of children, so what couldnt they do in NYC? Even if its just distributing masks and gloves....I wonder whats happening st the Times Square church...

This would be a very good thing for sure.

I remember there was a guy in Germany who said something similar about the Jews
That is quite a stretch....

Not at all the point, there is no reason in my book why six years old children need to be inculcated with homosexual rhetoric.

This is copied/pasted directly from www.samaritanspurse.org
pay attention to point # 9 ( I enlarged and added the italics in it)

Statement of Faith

Samaritan’s Purse bases its ministry on the following statement of faith:

1. We believe the Bible to be the inspired, the only infallible, authoritative Word of God revealing the love of God to the world.
1 Thessalonians 2:13; 2 Timothy 3:15-17; John 3:16.

2. We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
Matthew 28:19; John 10:30; Ephesians 4:4-6.

3. We believe in the deity of the Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood on the cross, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His personal return in power and glory.
Matthew 1:23; John 1:1-4 and 1:29; Acts 1:11 and 2:22-24; Romans 8:34; 1 Corinthians 15:3-4; 2 Corinthians 5:21; Philippians 2:5-11; Hebrews 1:1-4 and 4:15.

4. We believe that all men everywhere are lost and face the judgment of God, that Jesus Christ is the only way of salvation, and that for the salvation of lost and sinful man, repentance of sin and faith in Jesus Christ results in regeneration by the Holy Spirit. Furthermore, we believe that God will reward the righteous with eternal life in heaven, and that He will banish the unrighteous to everlasting punishment in hell.
Luke 24:46-47; John 14:6; Acts 4:12; Romans 3:23; 2 Corinthians 5:10-11; Ephesians 1:7 and 2:8-9; Titus 3:4-7.

5. We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit, whose indwelling enables the Christian to live a godly life.
John 3:5-8; Acts 1:8 and 4:31; Romans 8:9; 1 Corinthians 2:14; Galatians 5:16-18; Ephesians 6:12; Colossians 2:6-10.

6. We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost; the saved unto the resurrection of eternal life and the lost unto the resurrection of damnation and eternal punishment.
1 Corinthians 15:51-57; Revelation 20:11-15.

7. We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in the Lord Jesus Christ and that all true believers are members of His body, the Church.
1 Corinthians 12:12, 27; Ephesians 1:22-23.

8. We believe that the ministry of evangelism (sharing and proclaiming the message of salvation only possible by grace through faith in Jesus Christ) and discipleship (helping followers of Christ grow up into maturity in Christ) is a responsibility of all followers of Jesus Christ.
Matthew 28:18-20; Acts 1:8; Romans 10:9-15; 1 Peter 3:15.

9. We believe God’s plan for human sexuality is to be expressed only within the context of marriage, that God created man and woman as unique biological persons made to complete each other. God instituted monogamous marriage between male and female as the foundation of the family and the basic structure of human society. For this reason, we believe that marriage is exclusively the union of one genetic male and one genetic female.
Genesis 2:24; Matthew 19:5-6; Mark 10:6-9; Romans 1:26-27; 1 Corinthians 6:9.

10. We believe that we must dedicate ourselves to prayer, to the service of our Lord, to His authority over our lives, and to the ministry of evangelism.
Matthew 9:35-38; 22:37-39, and 28:18-20; Acts 1:8; Romans 10:9-15 and 12:20-21; Galatians 6:10; Colossians 2:6-10; 1 Peter 3:15.

11. We believe that human life is sacred from conception to its natural end; and that we must have concern for the physical and spiritual needs of our fellowmen.
Psalm 139:13; Isaiah 49:1; Jeremiah 1:5; Matthew 22:37-39; Romans 12:20-21; Galatians 6:10.

What does the Bible say about homosexuality?
I can tell you what it doesn't say. It doesn't say to go around spreading hateful rhetoric about them and blaming all the societies woes on them

If you are gay keep it to yourself and don't let me know then I can't have an opinion .. If you parade it, openly flaunt it, and recruit for it then there's plenty wrong according to the bible, it is a curse on the person and curse on the land ..
George Washington won an impossible war to win .. He ordered his men and officers to be beat with a whip for taking the Lord's name in vain because he did not want to offend God in anyway knowing he could only win the war with God's help .. General Washington also drummed an accused homosexual out of his army for attempted sodomy , Accused homosexual Lt Fred Enslin was drummed out the Army and told to never ever come back ..
