You have accused me previously of double-speak and of not answering questions.
And yet, when I present a scenario to you to test what you're saying, you do not answer.

Thankfully @Chester answered fully in your place.
I answered, but not in his place, LOL! EG and I do not agree on some things, but are (usually!) respectful of one another.

Hey, but look carefully at his objection to your question, and see if you can answer him clearly. (see #678)

A person born out of God with ongoing results (perfect tense) cannot keep on willfully, ongoingly sinning, for the seed (sperma - Greek) of God keeps on remaining in him and he cannot keep on sinning . . .

Yes and amen! PTL! A born again believer does not and cannot live this way . . .
But many a sinner and unbeliever does live this say . . .
Yes.

So in effect. a person who sins has never seen or known God.. It is a stated fact. Not a suggestion that maybe one time they knew God.. and now in this present tense does not know or see him..

You asked me a question in which I could not really answer. And was invalid in context of what we are talking about.

I answered it the best I could given the circumstances.

I did not just ignore it.

so please. I ask you again, Just because you do not agree with my answer. Please stop saying I did not answer you.

Once again, Would you like to rephrase a question to one which is actually valid?

Again, I can not judge a homosexual We have one in our church. is he not saved? (He is happily married to a wonderful Godly woman, and has three children) Again, Is he not saved, because he is a homosexual?

You know what I mean - you answered and he avoided the question ;)
Hey, look again, I edited my post #681, but it looks like you might have answered the original one - that happens and can create big misunderstandings . . .

The problem with his question is what I mentioned earlier

Lets say one day something happens. and you have a drink. And because of your addiction. You fall right back into drinking

Are you unsaved?

He asked me, can a homosexual be saved, I do not know the situation.. so how could I judge them?

its not a valid question in the first place.
I'm not asking you to judge anybody on their sin.

You quoted verses and said that a Christian who habitually sins was never really a Christian.

I asked if homosexuals who say they follow Christ are REAL Christians, given what you said.

@Chester has already answered this, but all you've done is sidestep the question.

and I answered

Homosexuality is one sin.

1 John john talks about a lifestyle of sin

They are two different things

Yuu want me to judge a person who MAY be struglling with one sin, and may not even be openly involved in overt actions of that sin.

Then were they ever a christian?

what Does John say?

1 John 3: 6 Whoever abides in Him does not sin. Whoever sins has neither seen Him nor known Him.

Has that person, who has never seen or known God ever been saved?

In post #652, quoted above, you implied that people who say that they follow Christ but who habitually sin may not have ever REALLY been following Christ.

I'm simply constructing a scenario to test what you're saying.

Are you saying that open homosexuals who claim to be following Christ are not REALLY Christians due to their ongoing sin?

@Chester has given me a clear answer in post #670.

Just so you now. You are very frustrating to try to talk to

Yes. John says one who lives a LIFESTYLE of sin has never met God

You asked me about 1 sin, not a lifestyle of sin.

Until you understand the difference. You will never understand my answer.

Your senerio is false. I have tried to explain this to you. But you seem to not understand.

I asked you. A member of my church who is a homosexual. married with three kids and in love with God. is that person saved?

If our dear sister admits to being an alcoholic. falls and again starts to drink, is she saved? while she is in the sin of drinking and drunkeness? Is that really a lifestyl of sin, Says who? Where do you get your definition of what a lifestyle of sin is?

I find you frustrating to talk to also.

You have accused me of double-speak previously and of not answering questions. Yet you do the same.

In my scenario I spoke of an openly homosexual person who says that they are following Jesus.
You've once again sidestepped the question by saying this is one sin, and by answering my question with a separate multitude of similar questions.

I am done

I answered your question

You do not like it. so you suggested I have not answered

I did not sidestep the question. I told you why your question is invalid.

You can add any sin into your question as someone else said

You can say has a lyer ever seen God. or a person who knows to do right but seems to not do it. (insert any sin)

But you like to keep pushing.

That's fine. Keep on going.

You legalists love to push these major sins like it is your end all.

I refuse to be backed into that corner when it is a false precept to begin with.

Yes I could have used any sin, but I have chosen one just as an example.

You accuse others of double-speak and of not answering questions when in fact this is exactly what you do.

Keeping God's commandments is not legalistic.
You're conflating keeping God's commandments with living under the law.

Christians are told to keep God's commandments:
John 14:15
"If you love me, obey my commandments"
Do you believe we are not fully saved upon placing our faith in Jesus Christ or that we can lose our salvation by not doing works?

No, I do not believe that, and that's not what this thread is saying (despite the admittedly confusing title) :)

Let make your question valid

EG,

Is a person who is a practicing homosexual. Who is also a drunkard A drug addict. Is continually doing things which are anti christian. Has nothing in his life which would even suggest he has ever been saved, let alone is saved now. Has a LIFESTYLE of habitual sin (acts like the world) saved? And have in your view they ever been.

Response from EG.

No. That person is living a LIFESTYLE OF SIN. Accurding to John, I do nto think that person has never seen or known God

See how easy that would be?

I actually answered yours You just did not like my answer.

so now again you are bearing false witness
