I recommend reading the Martyr's Mirror to see all the suffering and persecution that many Christians went through over the years. Everything from being sawed in two to being fed to the lions and being crucified upside down or burned at the stake.

Revelation 21:6 is talking about all of the prophesies being fulfilled and the ushering in of the eternal Kingdom on earth. The New Jerusalem.

He created two Genesis or beginnings' in the Book of Genesis. The other one is just over the horizon. Walk by faith. No periscopes .

It is finished ,refers to the ministry God sent his Son to accomplish or "finish". This includes fulfilling all prophecies concerning himself, healings, preaching and the giving of himself for a sacrifice. The last prophecy fulfilled was when Christ was given vinegar to drink (Psalm 69: 21.) Immediately after drinking it, he said "it is finished", referring to the last prophecy to be fulfilled and his mission completed. This is not referring to the completed work of salvation, because he had to be resurrected yet, 3 days later. Paul refers to this in 1 Cor. 15: 17-20. verse 17, And if Christ be not raised, your faith is vain, you are yet in your sins...
I’ve looked into rev 21:6 and only a hand full of translations say “it is finished”, most translations say “it is done”, which is different than being finished like baking a cake it’s done baking but the icing on the cake still needs to be applied.
Seems you are referring to the parable of the workers the first and last with the John n revelations or maybe I’m misreading your statement but if not I don’t think that is similar to the mentioning of the first letter and the last letter in the Greek alphabet the alpha and omega or the duration of creation the beginning and the end.
rev 21:1-5 seems to speak on a few things that will come to a end.
Not sure what you mean about only two and not three first and last?

Well you asked for my thoughts....here we go
I've read over and over the before and after scriptures and it became very interesting to me on the things that would come to pass.
The first coming and the second coming and the differences in them.
Perhaps this will shed some light on the subject.
Jesus came as a lamb in his first coming, he comes as a lion in the second.
As we know the work of the father was to believe the son. Jesus fulfilled the law not for himself but for us who were dead in trespasses and sin. Opening the door to salvation to those who believe and ask.
From that point we walk by faith by the hearing of the word. Paul said Jesus is the author and finisher of our faith.
Now from what I am gleaning in rev 21 is that the lion made it possible that faith is not needed any more for God himself shall dwell with his people and as scripture says we shall see him as he truly is. Praise God.
All things become new opens up a new page in history which has not been written yet.
No need for faith, no need for Bible , no need for prayer,

I think the finished is the the perfect or complete. Nothing can be added or subtracted from it.

The sour wine He drank on the cross was the fourth cup that in Jewish tradition ended the Passover meal. So Jesus drank from the sponge that for anyone present at the last supper would have understood served as the cup that finalized the Passover meal.

Alpha and Omega is the word which that saying is directly quoting the Greek language, beginning and end is of creation, that’s the way I see it.
Where do you get the idea that "the Alpha and Omega" is the Father and "the beginning and the end" refers to the Holy Spirit"? Thanks
I’ve always thought the sun and other shiny objects was for man for days months seasons signs.
a atomic clock is a interesting piece of equipment it doesn’t use the sun for time but it measures time within a certain atom, hmm I wonder if there are other things in the universe that haven’t been discovered yet as a measurement of time.
