Where do you see that so many Christians went through as much or more suffering?
I recommend reading the Martyr's Mirror to see all the suffering and persecution that many Christians went through over the years. Everything from being sawed in two to being fed to the lions and being crucified upside down or burned at the stake.

Those are not more than He suffered. He suffered abandonment, who had never known an hour without that Presence, in addition to all
else.

Revelation 21:6 is talking about all of the prophesies being fulfilled and the ushering in of the eternal Kingdom on earth. The New Jerusalem.

yeah i know what you mean, however, you do need to split your thinking into multiple persons and can't just be satisfied with thinking in terms of just one being even though all three are the same being. It is difficult for most to split their thinking into more than one but I don't know how you can completely understand the book of Revelation without thinking in terms of more than one being.
I don't have to split anything - you have to post something that makes sense then we can deal with that.

Since we know that the Lord God is the Alpha & the Omega (Father), the First and the Last (Son) and the Beginning and the End (Holy Spirit) and He operates as these three persons. It makes sense to me that the First and the Last (Son) completed His work on the cross in fulfilment of the law but the other two did NOT complete their work until Judgement is complete. This is why the First and the Last is not present because His work was already completed and He left final judgement to the other two persons. Then when judgement is complete the work of the Alpha and the Omega (Father) and the Beginning and the End (Holy Spirit) is finished and the new heaven and new earth can be ushered in. Another way to say it is that the work of "one" was completed on the cross and then after judgement the work of "two" is finished and all who are thirsty can drink from the fountains of the river of life. Exciting! Can't wait!

Jesus said in John 19:30 "it is finished" on the cross but in Revelation 21:6 the Lord God says "it is finished". My question is what is the work completed on the cross and what is the work completed in Revelation 21:6? How do they relate to each other if at all? Also, in Revelation 21:6 it is the Alpha & Omega and the Beginning & End that says "it is finished" but why is the First & Last not there? It seems that at this point in time the Lord God is only two instead of three because the First & Last is absent from the scene. What are your thoughts?
The promised demonstration of old testament was finished it revealed the mystery the lamb of God slain from before the foundation of the world . Hidden in time past.

The propmised time of reformation had come a time of Joy and tribulation like never before or ever again still, doing it work of separating the lambs from the goats. Restoring the government of peace .Removing the abomination of desolation a temple made with corrupted human hands

So maybe it is done in Revelation means "it is done"...i have created the new heavens and the new earth and made it ready for you.

This difference in words used does not account for the fact that the First and the Last is not there whereas my explanation does account for this. So, a slight adjustment would be the First and the Last says "it is finished" on the cross in fulfilment of the law and the other two say "it is done" I have created the new heaven and earth and prepared it for those who are thirsty.
God no longer did any work of creating after the first 6.

He created two Genesis or beginnings' in the Book of Genesis. The other one is just over the horizon. Walk by faith. No periscopes .

These are the generations (plural) of the heavens and of the earth when they (plural) were created, in the day (singular)that the Lord God made the earth and the heavens, Genesis 2:4

It is finished ,refers to the ministry God sent his Son to accomplish or "finish". This includes fulfilling all prophecies concerning himself, healings, preaching and the giving of himself for a sacrifice. The last prophecy fulfilled was when Christ was given vinegar to drink (Psalm 69: 21.) Immediately after drinking it, he said "it is finished", referring to the last prophecy to be fulfilled and his mission completed. This is not referring to the completed work of salvation, because he had to be resurrected yet, 3 days later. Paul refers to this in 1 Cor. 15: 17-20. verse 17, And if Christ be not raised, your faith is vain, you are yet in your sins...

I’ve looked into rev 21:6 and only a hand full of translations say “it is finished”, most translations say “it is done”, which is different than being finished like baking a cake it’s done baking but the icing on the cake still needs to be applied.

Seems you are referring to the parable of the workers the first and last with the John n revelations or maybe I’m misreading your statement but if not I don’t think that is similar to the mentioning of the first letter and the last letter in the Greek alphabet the alpha and omega or the duration of creation the beginning and the end.

rev 21:1-5 seems to speak on a few things that will come to a end.

Not sure what you mean about only two and not three first and last?

Well you asked for my thoughts....here we go😏😏😏😏

I've read over and over the before and after scriptures and it became very interesting to me on the things that would come to pass.
The first coming and the second coming and the differences in them.
Perhaps this will shed some light on the subject.

Jesus came as a lamb in his first coming, he comes as a lion in the second.
As we know the work of the father was to believe the son. Jesus fulfilled the law not for himself but for us who were dead in trespasses and sin. Opening the door to salvation to those who believe and ask.
From that point we walk by faith by the hearing of the word. Paul said Jesus is the author and finisher of our faith.

Now from what I am gleaning in rev 21 is that the lion made it possible that faith is not needed any more for God himself shall dwell with his people and as scripture says we shall see him as he truly is. Praise God.
All things become new opens up a new page in history which has not been written yet.

No need for faith, no need for Bible , no need for prayer,

Just thinking out loud....😀😀☺

I don't see that kind of difference. They can mean the same. .Just don't apply the icing which was finished long before the cake was done .

I think the finished is the the perfect or complete. Nothing can be added or subtracted from it.

when you read the account of the Last Supper, the Passover Meal, only three cups of wine were consumed. In Jewish Tradition, 4 cups had to be drunk or the ceremony was incomplete.
The Passover meal (the lamb was also eaten) Jesus initiated didn't end until the fourth cup was consumed. The sour wine He drank on the cross was the fourth cup that in Jewish tradition ended the Passover meal. So Jesus drank from the sponge that for anyone present at the last supper would have understood served as the cup that finalized the Passover meal.

A lot of things can be mean the same but doesn’t mean they are. some make the icing afterwards and some before the baking of a cake, surely that is a personal preference

Alpha and Omega is the word which that saying is directly quoting the Greek language, beginning and end is of creation, that’s the way I see it.

There is no end to God, so the beginning and end is referencing something that man can comprehend, the temporal

Where do you get the idea that "the Alpha and Omega" is the Father and "the beginning and the end" refers to the Holy Spirit"? Thanks

I like the mentioning of the cups, did you know they have a fifth cup reserved,

They say space and time, but it is God and measuring tool for He measures time by the sun, which there was no sun before creation, and no sun after creation, so what would measure time unless you want to go 1 Mississippi, 2 Mississippi, 3 Mississippi, and so on to 86,400 seconds for a day, but what it the purpose of that when time is not needed.
I’ve always thought the sun and other shiny objects was for man for days months seasons signs.

a atomic clock is a interesting piece of equipment it doesn’t use the sun for time but it measures time within a certain atom, hmm I wonder if there are other things in the universe that haven’t been discovered yet as a measurement of time.

" It is Finished" is a statement of final payment once and for all. All Past debt, all present debt, and all future debt paid in full
Future debt?
