Not necessarily, there are plenty of lines that have been quotes or refered to often enough that I know they are quotes even when I don't know the original movie, let alone have seen the original movie. As for the dead people, I know what movie it was from, have at least some clue about the plot, but have never seen the movie.

I find it very interesting that people have been putting a question mark after their statement-to-consider.
(The only question mark required or needed is after the 'real' question of 'True or False?'. And, of course, it is understood if the question mark is left off.)
Do you realize that - "gramatically speaking" - you invalidate your 'statement' by asking a question instead of making a statement - obscuring it in doubt. It is like saying "you tell me, because I really don't know"...
Not meaning to criticize - just making an observation.
