Oh my goodness folks, two dudes pull guns on a guy jogging down the road and ultimately shoot and kill him. If they thought he had committed a crime why didn't they call the cops. I mean really. I'm white and from the south, but that don't give me the right to patrol my neighborhood, and pull my pistol out and shoot anyone I think might have committed a crime. I mean really that is totally stupid.

This situation might not have anything to do with racism, but if they had shot a white guy in the same type of situation, (your brother, son, etc.) how would you feel about that?

Do you all really think it should be legal for regular citizens to go around shooting other citizens because they look suspicious?

How on earth could anyone call this self defense? They stalked the guy pulled guns and then shot him and he didn't even have a weapon?

I mean in my neck of the woods this act would be considered pretty cowardly. I mean really, gang up on a guy, two to one, and still pull a gun and shoot him out of self defense, even though he had no weapon....
Ok
You never ever ever ever pull a gun unless you are 100% ready to use it.
Why?
Because if you do not, they CAN TAKE IT FROM YOU AND KILL YOU.

HE ,without a doubt, made the stupidest move of his life.

If people can't learn from an example that shows what can happen.......?

See it does not matter all the 20 20 hindsight.
The dead guy is just as dead.

The rednecks are all saying (right or wrong) it was justified.
Sure it never should have happened.

Yep sure it was bad .

Yep sure they wish they had a time machine.

But you can't make any party a martyr or a hero.

It is just 3 stupid people meeting on a road with one committing suicide

Sounds like self-defense to me
I'm jogging down the street minding my own business when you confront me with a shotgun
Do you think I'm just going to stand there and let you kill me?
No I'm going to fight back
Your logic implies that there has never been a time a person pulled a gun and did not shoot.
Bizarre

Not going to look up what you wrote but it was something like "thats what they teach you in self defense"

Uh no
Get away is supposed to be your first thought.

You believe attacking armed men is so wise.

Ok I don't.
They had no business approaching a man with shot guns and you know it. It was none of their business to begin with. They just wanted to look like some bad boys, but was too cowardly. Hence all the guns.

They started the whole thing, and it wasn't any of their business.

Yeah, they should've never pulled the guns. In doing so they caused a murder and should be charged as such. You can't use stupidity as a defense.

1. There were 2 guns - ONE shotgun and one handgun. The older man in the truck bed had the handgun - maybe unseen by Arbery.

2. Arbery probably did see the shotgun held by the younger man as he was out of the truck on the road. Seeing the shot gun was probably why he changed his running direction to the right side of the truck to avoid a confrontation.

3.WHO fired the first shot. Did Arbery know where the first shot came from?

With those 3 questions in mind consider this. What knowledge did Arbery have about guns in general? Personally I did not know that semiautomatic shotguns even existed until this shooting. My Grandma had a single shot shotgun. Fire 1 round and open the breech like breaking a pencil and insert another round. Takes about 3 to 5 seconds or so. My FIL had 3 pump action shot guns. Fire 1 then use the grip under the barrel to reload another round - might take 1 to 2 seconds. And that's the extent of my knowledge about shotguns.

With a semiauto you should be able to fire just about as fast as you can pull the trigger. What did Arbery know about shotguns? Had I been in his position with my incorrect knowledge about such guns I would have gone for the guns barrel to point it away from me. I would not have known there was already another round in the chamber ready to fire again.

I also wonder why the younger shooter kept his finger on the trigger during the fight if he did not intend to shoot to kill or injure.

Oldman you raised some good points there.

Its not unusual for someone to wrestle with someone with a gun and live to tell the tale. They weren't at all trying to commit suicide.

I have not watched the video. But It is said there were three shots.

Was Arbery still struggling with them after the first shot? Or the second?

The men said they shouted at Arbery that they only wanted to talk to him. OK then, why scare him with the gun?

They said Arbery resembled a burglar that had been causing trouble in the area. Has there been any descriptions or photos of that person who Arbery is suppose to resemble?

The men must have been very sure that Arbery and the burglar were one and the same to approach him that way. OK so when they saw him running along the road, why didn't they at that time before confronting him, call the police?

They had his picture on his phone. Why not stop pursuing him then and hand his picture over to the police and let them handle it from there?

The men said they took their guns, just incase Arbery had a gun also. Ok so what would have happened, a shoot out?

Is it the right of a civilian to "arrest" someone who they aren't even sure is a felon?

I've heard it said, if you come across a person who is wanted or is a person of interest to the police that you should notify the police. I have not heard that the civilians should get their guns and go talk to them to investigate the case themselves or "arrest" them.

Arbery's mom said she was told at first that her son was a suspect and died during a burglary attempt. What's up with that?

The fact is the clip did not show any violent assault on Arbery's part before the gun was fired.
Who you kidding

Arbery "Ran Towards" and "Violently Assaulted" the armed man, while trying to take his weapon.

You arent going to change the facts in the attached TMZ clip

In the attached 40 second TMZ clip

The TMZ clip is too late for anybody to say whether the kill was justified.

Both parties did not act with wisdom.
