Good Day to you all!

I pray all is well with you and yours by the mercy of Christ Yeshua, in your fam, work, and in your travels.

I have read every single post on this thread from 1.

I am convinced. even the heathen, unsaved, unbelievers can do the works of God.

The Scripture proves this... Scripture is True....

Not by OUR works are we saved, TO THOSE that I am referring to , we are told who we are in Christ (Ephesians)....

By the creeps thaty crept in trying to refute, by His Spirit, has made me a better Berean......

God Bless , Be safe....

I am not sure why the JEWS put this "To fulfill 70 Years", on their newest Shekel Coin, YET. Could they be referring to the 70th Week of Daniel, when they put this on there Shekel coin ? ? ? I got my doubts.

Heb. 10:17-18 - "There is no more offering for sin." So stop offering your good works.

Christ Jesus did it all

I see the self faith sustainer is peddling his wares in the other thread.......
1 John 4:1

Dear friends, do not believe everyone who claims to speak by the Spirit. You must test them to see if the spirit they have comes from God. For there are many false prophets in the world.

John 1:12-13

Only God's power, through His Son, makes us a child of God.
We are not born into God's family by
Blood (‘pedigree’),
Nor will of the flesh (good works),
Nor will of man." (man made religion),
But of God.

Amen...and they will still peddle a self maintained, self kept salvation when the BIBLE clearly teaches we are KEPT BY THE POWER OF GOD THROUGH FAITH <-the FAITH HE BEGINS, FINISHES AND COMPLETES in US....how obstinate does one have to be to deny these truths to say WE MUST......to keep it......pure evil to deny the power and promises of God!!

We are talking about salvation. NOT WHAT ONE DOES AFTER THEY ARE SAVED.

try to keep it in context. ok?

Teaching works as it relates to salvation is miselading, and will lead peopel away from Christ.

it is of works, not grace, otherwise grace is no longer grace, those are pauls words.
I understand what you are saying, however, I am confused by the usage of the words "salvation" and "saved".
My understanding is that salvation is a process that consists of an initial phase and as well as the final phase( enjoying fellowship with Christ in heaven).
The initial phase being salvation through faith and not works, subsequent to that will be "sanctification"(that is where works or the fruit of the Spirit are produced)and not forgetting that it is still part of the salvation process.

I think salvation is also emphasized in this argument, though the other party has incorporated the initial phase as well as the phase to follow.

That is just my analysis and I might be wrong.

What is your understanding of the words "salvation" and "saved"?

Let’s put it this was

if the Bible says I have been saved

yet in the end, I may not be saved.

then I am not really saved at all

as the scripture says, salvation has come, it is not comming

The usage of the word in context dictates how it is to be viewed....note that one represents a "thing" while the other represents the action that has taken place.....

I.E. Salvation as a THING is found only in Christ.....but the result of trusting into that thing (salvation in Christ) is->>one has BEEN SAVED (PAST TENSE AND A COMPLETED ACTION with PRESENT CONTINUING RESULTS)

Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.

Note dual usage above.....

For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.

Also will mention that sanctification is dual usage...one is positional in Christ eternally at the moment of salvation, while the other aspect is based upon growth, maturity, is subject to successes and failures and deals with fellowship and maturity!

I can see now that we are saved by grace. I was taught the opposite in the cult I had been involved in before whereby it was works and the amount of preaching work you did that earned salvation and merit from them too. However, I still have a problem with the scriptures which say that people committing sin will not be saved, e.g. 1 Cor 6:9-11:

"9 Do you not know that wrongdoers will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived! Fornicators, idolaters, adulterers, male prostitutes, sodomites, 10 thieves, the greedy, drunkards, revilers, robbers—none of these will inherit the kingdom of God. 11 And this is what some of you used to be. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and in the Spirit of our God. "

So how can we be saved by mercy and grace if we continue on in our sins?

Notice that these Corinthian Christians are reminded that when they were formerly unbelievers, practicing those cited sinful behaviors, they would not have inherited the kingdom of God at that time.

But now they have been washed, sanctified, and justified.

In other words, they are now children of God, heirs of God's kingdom. So Paul does not mean that any person who has ever committed one of these sins will be denied entrance to God's kingdom.

Paul is making the point that is not who they are anymore... believers need to live in their NEW nature, not the old.

Yep....and to the saved....where sin abounds, grace abounds the more.......

@ReturnedtoChrist also...WHY and WHO does God chasten<---HINT this only happens because of one reason and only to one group of people!

Okay, thanks for asking the question, I hope you and eternally-grateful, will not mind me answering too. That is a common problem with newly Born Again Christians, who do not understand what we are talking about.

Better to ask, than to assume you know, only to find out you were in error.

First of all Salvation happens the MOMENT WE BELIEVE, and it happens to our Human Spirit. After HE convicts us of our utter sinfulness, we mourn and weep over our sins, HE comes into our Hearts (Human Spirit), Births it into ETERNAL LIFE, and Pours GOD's LOVE into our HEARTS or Human Spirit, Rom. 5:5. HE IMMERSES (BAPTIZES) US INTO THE SPIRITUAL BODY OF CHRIST, Rom, 6:3. Rom. 10:8-10, will explain how it happens. But remember IT FIRST MUST HAPPEN IN YOUR HUMAN SPIRIT FIRST, before you can say JESUS IS MY LORD meaning MASTER, as a CONFESSION, and then you have to KNOW in your Human Spirit, HE TRULY IS LORD OF YOUR LIFE. You will KNOW. I genuinely out of AGAPE LOVE FOR HIM surrendered to HIM after 3 attempts at suicide in a week, the last week of 1977. The Holy Spirit will always BE THERE FOREVER, to give us understanding of the WORD, mold us into what HE WANTS us to be, Mature us into type and ministry HE WANTS, and GIFTING us with the GIFT to fulfill that ministry. HE seals our Human Spirit for all eternity if it is the REAL MCCOY. So SALVATION is of the HUMAN SPIRIT, and it happens in a moment when we FIRST GENUINELY BELIEVE, HE Fills US with that LOVE, as we genuinely want HIM to run our lives. No that is Not WORKS Righteous, NO ONE CAN GENUINELY CONFESS JESUS AS LORD without the HOLY SPIRIT IN US, 1 Cor. 12:3, so it is a work of the HOLY SPIRIT.

After Salvation, HE has changed our Human Spirit to BE IN TUNE with what HE will WANT us to do. That means we will want to go through the SANCTIFICATION process. In other words, we will want to strive to walk like JESUS, out of Agape LOVE for HIM. You will notice a DEEP, DEEP LOVE for JESUS AS LORD, of your life. When you do, it should put a smile on your face. THAT IS AN UNDYING LOVE, Eph. 6:24. Now you will want to walk in a way that is PLEASING to HIM. Obedience of our bodies, is PART of that AGAPE LOVE HE put in us, Rom. 5:5. It never has been part of SALVATION, but IT is proof that we LOVE HIM, John 14:15 and 1 John 5:3. Because the sin nature is in our Bodies, we will struggle to become more and more LIKE HIM all the days of our life. We will never be PERFECT until HE gives us that GLORIFIED BODY in the Resurrection. That LIFE LONG STRUGGLE, is called SANCTIFICATION, not Salvation of the body. Many do not realize the Human Spirit gets Saved in a Moment in time, while SANCTIFICATION of the Body takes a life time. Confusing Salvation and Sanctification, causes a GREAT DEAL of False Doctrines.

It does not get any plainer..........Our righteous works have ZERO to do with Salvation!

English Standard Version
he saved us, not because of works done by us in righteousness, but according to his own mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewal of the Holy Spirit,

Berean Study Bible
He saved us, not by the righteous deeds we had done, but according to His mercy, through the washing of new birth and renewal by the Holy Spirit.

Berean Literal Bible
He saved us, not by works in righteousness that we did, but according to His mercy, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit,

New American Standard Bible
He saved us, not on the basis of deeds which we have done in righteousness, but according to His mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewing by the Holy Spirit,

King James Bible
Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;
Therefore DON’T DO ANY whatever you do is the bottom line of this theology, for Heavens sake.
