the problem is an heart problem.

no amount of training and no kind of law is going to make the officer take his knee off the unresponsive man's neck when it becomes undeniably obvious to him that he does not need to restrain the man anymore and that he is doing him undue harm by doing so. no law and no schooling will stop the people who beat or killed innocent men and women when they were trying to defend themselves or their property, or simply passing by.

no law and no education will cause someone to make the right decision in a situation. laws and education can cause people to know what the right decision or action is, but they cannot cause a person to do what is right.

the Torah says love your neighbor. that never caused anyone to love their neighbor. it can cause people to act like they have love, because of fear of punishment or because of a sense of obligation & duty -- but it does not cause love.
the law only makes sin evident; it doesn't change a person's heart. a law can influence behavior, but it cannot change an heart. laws and education highlight evil and attempt to contain it; they don't address it. they are not root-cause solutions.

and law can only influence behavior up to a point: some people are not deterred by the threat of punishment. some people are actually provoked to do what brings punishment because of the threat of punishment; some people simply don't care about the threat of punishment; to some people some other motivation is greater than the motivation of avoiding punishment; some people believe they can escape punishment and others are ignorant of the threat of punishment, or forget it in their passion.

law and knowledge cannot change a person's heart, and they can only partially modify behavior - not completely.

will is free, and people's hearts are evil. this is ultimately the problem.

the only solution is the only thing that can change a person's inner being: the problem in its distillation is sin, and the only solution is Christ.

This is what gets to me. People saying "rioting isn't right but" There is no but. It's criminal. They are not looting in the name of Floyd, his family again today have asked them to stop. They aren't doing it from "hurt" either. Let me share a few pictures with you...

David Dorn, murdered for trying to stop looters from entering his friends store. Retired cop, anyone taking a breath for him?

Woman was beaten by looters using a ladder trying to defend her business. Luckily her husband stopped them before they killed her.

Young man beaten with a skateboard and rocks for trying to defend businesses for looting.

Do not say I don't agree but !! They aren't doing this from hurt, for Floyd or to see change. They are trying to bring down the country, period.

That is an outright lie!! I wasn't born in America, I was born where the underground railroad ended. I was born where black peoples ran for refuge from Southern Democrat slave owners. I DO NOT support white supremacists !! The MSM are lying through their teeth. And I'm hoping people in this country are smart enough to see it for themselves.

.

Another lie, boy you're on a roll! smh The blame goes to the ones doing the looting and rioting. Stop race baiting. Call a spade a dang shovel.

.

People are responsible for their own actions. Color has nothing to do with it. As long as you're willing to see color instead of American citizens this will go on. If anyone thinks that this riot will see any change they're fooling themselves. I didn't put a knee on a mans neck and kill him, a cop did. A cop that was known to have issues, who let that pass? Why is no one fingering the higher up that let this hothead cop with 30 plus complaints continue to work? Nah, all white America is responsible because the man happened to be black. The problem in this country is no one is held accountable for their actions. A kid shoots up a school, it's society's fault, it's the gun makers fault, its the NRA. People commit crimes it was the way they were raised, they can't be expected to know better. When does it come down to personal responsibility? I'm not racist, not a drop of racism in my bones,my family isn't racist and none of us contribute to "systemic racism" new buzz word of the left. And I'm not going to be told by anyone that I am racist, or that I need to feel shame for being white or told I have "privilege" especially by white politicans sitting behind gated communities eating 50 flavors of ice cream !!! I'm done!! Americas problem is the same as it always has been, it needs GOD. But if the want it their way, He won't stand in the way.
All this has to end.

I think a speech given by the president would calm things down if he is addressing this in a unifying manner.
He gave a speech in the rose garden uniting the country. Yet people are still out at night on the streets. And what happens if the jury doesn't give them the verdict they want, then what? Where does it end? We need to stop giving in to the mob and say enough is enough.

Yell a little louder and you might convince yourself. I said what I said. No need to respond because I won't see it.
Whether you will see it or not, I want to let other posters know where I stand. You made false statements, I corrected you. Call it yelling if you want to. You make false statements, expect to be corrected.

Whoever posted the Tucker Carlson video yesterday, I watched it and have since felt like weeping. The imagery is jarring, and angering, animalistic and devoid of light. During its watching I felt anger rising up and I had to center myself on the Lord and just say, “Jesus. Lord.” We cannot let the evils of this world make our hearts bitter. We have to keep the heart of God.

A bit of a stretch saying that was a speech. The entire build up, and the “speech”, carried more resemblance to a declaration of war.

I agree with you. But education can help us weed out the rotten apples before they can get a badge.

In case you had not noticed the Extreme Left and the Fascists had already declared war on America four years ago. Unfortunately, those who should be taking note of sedition and treason within the USA were busy manufacturing hoaxes. So it is high time that war was declared on the enemies within, which includes the Mainstream Media.

The goal of the Extreme Left is to destroy America as we know it and convert it into a Communist dictatorship while burning the Constitution. The Democratic party has committed itself to the destruction of America, the Constitution, and the rule of law, and democracy. And America is now at a crossroads. Either the president takes proper charge and exercises his full constitutional authority against lawlessness, or America goes into anarchy.

I expect one of the reasons would be that the media -- which is supposed to present facts and truth -- has decided to deceive the public daily about the real state of affairs. They were all suffering so severely with Trump Derangement Syndrome that any lie could be manufactured as long as it hurt Trump.

At the same time the universities and colleges became hotbeds of Socialism (Communism), and the Democratic party became Communist. But voters were not being given the truth about these developments, since the media itself became thoroughly Leftist.

Just as the Bolshevists came to power in Russia through anarchy and riots, the Extreme Left and the Fascists are using the same tactics, and Antifa actually has a handbook to teach people how to destroy America. Thus one of these *protesters" publicly said *F*** the Constitution*, and that is the real sentiment of the Democrats.

i live in a college town ( athens ga, u.o.g.), and i read some of the commie literature distributed here in town. the anti-white, anti-capitalism , anti-Christian propaganda drips off of every page.

and this is a conservative southern state. i shudder to imagine what it is like on college campuses in liberal areas.

I really have to stop and check what forum I'm in when I come in here because when I first started following this thread it was listed as "news" under "CNF" yet almost every time I'm in here it feels like I've stumbled into BDF.......

The Word of God TELLS us these things (and much worse) will happen in the last days......

It's time that those claiming to be His RISE UP and declare that JESUS IS LORD!
Rise up, declare the GOOD NEWS- that Jesus is coming back SOON,
We are called to be IN the world NOT OF the world.......................

Or at least after the fact.

Police have to have certain latitude and power in order to do their jobs - which is a very hard job. One of my good friends is a seargant, and he is constantly bothered by what the job does to him as a person - he sees everyone at their very worst, a d over time he naturally starts looking at people with suspicion and expectimg the worse of them. It's kind of a natural consequence of what he goes through every day as an officer, and it's a daily struggle, he says, to keep his heart from hating people.

I guess some of you have seen the videos where white people are told to get on their knees and apologize for their 'white privilege'?

and worse, they comply?

Well Amen, but God has been ignored, mocked, told to get lost and it seems He has left those who hate Him to do what they do. That, would be to follow their father, the devil, indicated by the massive massive amount of lying that goes on.

And yes, the law does make sin evident but people act out of their hearts as Jesus stated 'it is not what goes into a man that defiles him, but what comes out'. That, I'm thinking, would include actions.

will is free, and people's hearts are evil. this is ultimately the problem.

That would indicate an ongoing problem that escalated to the murder. plus a problem with whoever investigates the complaints.

In the speech he says what happened to Floyd was sickening. He also said the "cries of the righteous" cannot be drowned out by the rioters, making a distinction against the peaceful protesters and the rioting/looting/beating and killing crowd. And yes, what is going on is a war and gullible people don't seem to see that. I posted pictures of citizens being beaten in the street. Where is the MSMs outcry for David Dorn??!! Why aren't people marching in his honor, why are there no signs with his name on it?! He was murdered in cold blood trying to defend a store against looters. They murdered him, left him to bleed out in the streets and had it live on FB. Where is the outrage for this man who was a law abiding citizen and retired cop? I don't see it. I see more people screaming about Trump standing in front of a church, so called Christians. I think people better hold up and wait till all the facts come out before they stand behind these rioters. You think it's bad now? What till the verdict comes down and it's not the one the mob wanted. Then what? Someone have the answer to that question? Then what????
