Interesting. I gave her a scripture regarding what the BIble has to say when someone is unsure. But I did not tell her it was a scripture. You do not believe that scripture. Your thinking on this matter does not match the scripture. Do you want the reference? It was from James from memory. You told her to be ashamed of her question. I told her to ask God who does not reproach us for asking. Which is better advise?
You are more concerned by making her feel ashamed? I want her to understand matters of God. You wanted her to be ashamed claiming Jesus might come any minute and find her in that frame of mind.
No , that is your own interpretation...
I do not want to shame anyone , so you got that wrong...

By switching do you mean from OSAS/ES to one can lose their salvation?

I fully understand your confusion?
Been there, seen it, done it and have the t-shirt.

Confusion reigns when we just take what someone else says/teaches and it seems to contradict what we were initially taught.

I had to challenge initially what I was taught/believed to be true.
It was quite frightening because I needed to realise that if I what I thought was not true then my foundations were faulty.

So I actually spent months reading what was out there concerning Christian theology.
I looked at the view I was used to and the opposing view.
A berean as such. I delved into scripture (it's much easier if you have a Bible app as you can link through very easily to correlating verses and use Bible study commentaries)

I myself switched after doing this.

For me personally...I don’t believe I can ever lose my salvation...

If you are on the fency about OSAS, consider the kinds of posts those who believe this write you and what they say to you about you and see if you want to become like them.
In all honesty this can be reciprocal to those whom believe you can lose salvation.

Been on the receiving of it. Been told I'm going to hell because I don't speak in tongues as it evidence I'm not saved, stopped going to church for a while due to burn out, once again evidence Im not saved, had a gambling addiction, evidence I'm not saved.

Just stop it work harder and so so on.

Very sad that Christians rather than tend to the wounded actually shoot them.

if you want to become like them. REmember, the teaching that you are going to Heaven no matter what evil you do to anyone does not bear good fruit. It means you can just "let -er rip" when you feel angry and are under no obligation to treat others as you would like to be treated. Your ticket to Heaven is secure no matter what. Surely the fruit of this is clear.

ANd no church teaches the above but it is a fruit of the teaching.
Who teaches the above?

Rosemary you have a very gentle spirit...I love it.
I believe we all have faith the size of a mustard seed at times , and thats ok , as long as we keep our eyes on Jesus...

Someone could walk with our LORD for 50 yrs , and wake up with doubt , but reading the Scriptures reminds us of who we are in Christ , and that feeding on our daily bread and drinking from his ever flowing fountain removes our doubt that the devil sows...

I was not shaming you , so please know this ...
In Jesus name Amen...

I suppose writng the above makes you feel superior.
Whether I’m superior to you or not is of no concern to me; not now, not ever.

Your words do however shed more light upon your inferiority complex, hence why you are so obtuse and defensive.

You claim to have such a close relationship with God through your obedience yet your words show otherwise.

How is she supposed to feel after that?
Since when do humanistic "feel"ings have anything at all to do with the truth?
You are bleating all the time about your feelings and how you feel. Doesn't amount to a hill of beans.

The "unborn" argument is a word Play. That which is Born can die. The dead do not become undead. Does that mean there is no resurrection because the word "undead" does not exist same as "unborn" does not exist? The word is die. That which is Born can die. The seed of faith that sprouts from the Word of God can die. Jesus said how as well. Do not fall for the OSAS team making up words that do not exist and because the word does not exist, the concept does not exist. The case against OSAS is very strong. IT was not a theology that Jesus or the early church knew of and taught a great deal to believers to take care they do not fall away. No one taught they weren't to worry as they cannot fall away.
Is @Judges1318 your mentor... :)

"Dead" is not correct analogy according to the words of Jesus

Unborn/go back to the womb..... is the correct analogy.

Physical birth .....One time event cannot be undone
Spiritual birth ...One time event cannot be undone

No one has gone back to an un-created state...

Yup. It's rough out there buddy. As the Lord Jesus Messiah has warned us many many times.
Never ever walk away. The assurances of Jesus is all we really have. And nothing else matters.
