It probably goes without saying Jesus’ birth and Resurrection are most everyone’s favorite historical moments. Which other moments, parables, messages or letters move you, inspire you and strengthen your faith the most?

I love Luke 7 and John 9, a sinful woman forgiven and a blind man receiving sight. God’s love, grace and omnipotence are on full display, showing His personal, caring relationship with His Creation.

One of mine is the women at the well...
It shows how compassionate Jesus is to our sinful ways , I mean how He told her about herself , and the life she had and was living...
He was warm to her , not bashing her down , He was gentle in His speech , and she had ears to hear...

That time He spent with this women reminded me that He is so graceful , not just her , but to all , this really stood out to me because women , especially samaritan women had no place in that time ...

I've asked myself this question time and time again. Sometimes it's hard to pick a "favorite" because all of them are so wonderful and can be related to at one point or another in our lifetimes, but no matter when I reflect on this I always seem to come back down to the story of Joseph.
I mean, with EVERYTHING that he had been through it would have been very easy for him to throw in the towel and turn away from God, but NO MATTER WHAT he still acknowledged God in EVERYTHING! THEN placed as second as command, becoming master/ruler above those who once ruled over him.
Throughout the whole story God shows His faithfulness.

I love the stories in Genesis following Abraham and Sarah, down through Isaac's descendants of Jacob and Easu into the storyline of Joseph being sold into slavery and subsequently made second-in command of Egypt and saving his people from starvation, and the whole enslavement of the Hebrews in Egypt and the raising up of Moses to deliver them, the judgments and plagues on Egypt as God showed forth His supremacy and power. Yeah. Incredibly varied and rich storyline there, and my favourite even from before I became Christian :D

I love the book of Genesis. I don’t read the old testament every year by a long shot, but I do read Genesis most years.

My story line actually goes from Genesis 11 into about halfway through Exodus :)

My favorite right now is Book of Jonah.

highlights:
1) stresses the importance of repentance; repent or perish.
2) foreshadows the concept of being born again
3) jonah was not capable of serving god until he was born again
4) after born again jonah still wrestled with his sins.
5) foreshadows jesus's death and ressurction on third day.
6) points to saving grace of Jesus is for all who accept, both jew and gentile.
7) this book is so rich in gospel goodness there is probably more that i am overlooking

The entire Burning Bush/Reveal scene

Shadrach-Meshach-Abednego

Samson and Delilah

Joshua being able to fleece God

Elijah calling fire down after making fun of the prophets of Baal and then he had them water log his altar

Jesus in the Temple calling it a den of thieves as He ram sacked the merchants items

Paul gathering firewood and being bitten by a poisonous snake and those with him basically freaked out because he lived

I love in Samuel when his mother Hannah devoted him to the lord, he is probably one of the longest serving prophets in the old testament, the lord literally called him to do the work, and affirmed his mother's prayers. Samuel's mother loved God and she believed in her prayers and Eli affirmed that God would answer her prayer. She had unwavering faith, that isn't based on blessings because she didn't feel she was blessed, even though she was loved by her husband.

I love that story. For some reason I feel connected to some people in the Bible more so than other people in the Bible. And I feel connected to Hannah and Samuel. 😊
