One more uninformed false idea about OSAS Theology.

I think it is a SURE THING, that you have misunderstood a great amount Scripture, in my opinion.

Where is your definition of what BORN AGAIN MEANS. Still waiting for that answer in YOUR OWN WORDS.
Stand up to your claim! Why does God allow people including his children to sin?

I said no OSAS believer can claim to know what God does and why. You took exception to that statement so let’s see if you know the answer to this one.

Am interested in what scripture this would be Dot, if you don’t mind?
It is my great pleasure to do so.

We are not illegitimate children,” they declared. “Our only Father is God Himself.”
42Jesus said to them, “If God were your Father, you would love Me, for I have come here from God. I have not come on My own, but He sent Me.
John 8.

If the foundation is not properly laid, the whole building of the house will be unstable.

Theres a continual flow of new people needing foundational truth.

Then some just like to debate. ⚔️

Jesus is called the only Son. There are no other sons only Jesus is accepted. The warnings in the Bible are there for us to carefully determine whether Jesus lives within us or not. Once the Undying One moves in, He is able to settle the matter with His opposition inside and get them out...
Actually the scripture says to carefully examine yourselves to see if you are still in the faith. It doesn’t say to make sure Jesus is living in you and if so, he will deal with all problems.

Some come to believe by watching true believers defend the truth. This is not as much because of the arguments but from the character of the speakers. Those who hurl abusive words do not impress the truth of their argument as much as the side that refrains from ad hominem.

It's always been that way, Jesus said narrow is the gate. God said not to turn to the right or to the left but walk the straight middle highway. Losable unsafe salvation is on the right, and liberal licence for sinning on the left. It is easy to see and know that shaky shifty salvation and licentiousness is both false. People get trapped in some of these beliefs from lack of confidence in God, or they were taught so for a long time, or they start worrying seeing some fake people walk away and start thinking salvation might be losable. It's the fear. One or a few verses isn't enough to change their mind, there should be a bit of compassion and patience... For licentious people I have way less understanding as they are most likely not saved at all.
We must keep ourselves together and speak the truth, in a loving way, I only write what I consider harsh posts in response to blasphemy. I probably sound too soft at times. Maybe I should be firmer. I am just afraid of slipping into the opposite extreme, because that's a bad witness.

Isaiah 26:7
The path of the righteous is level; you make level the way of the righteous.
Proverbs 4:27
Turn not to the right hand nor to the left: remove thy foot from evil.
Isaiah 30:21
And your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, “This is the way, walk in it,” when you turn to the right or when you turn to the left.
Numbers 22:26
And the angel of the LORD went further, and stood in a narrow place, where was no way to turn either to the right hand or to the left.
This post is better in expressing the need for this thread.

That’s interesting considering you’ve previously shared ill regard towards Scripture.
What have I said that was contrary to this? I measure my experience by the word, not the word by my experience. Experience is the mother of delusion.

Be careful you mentioned “me”

If you scroll back I was berated for saying “ me” and “I”......so be careful.......
You have no idea how relieved I am to have the ignore button.
It is kind of hard to testify without it, isn’t it. 😉

I think it’s the Living Bible that talks about letting things roll off us like water off a ducks back.

So we have killers here? Islam has shown us what this means in graphic detail.

I spoke of His body which begins with the new birth and baptism of Holy Spirit.

Perhaps my wording concerning Paul and his dealing with sin in the fellowship of the Corinthians was unclear. When there was repentance, the offender was restored to fellowship.

Something about bad apples in barrels would fit I think. Still does.

In the overall picture of what is called churches and denominations today? The gospel of repentance from sin, being born again and baptized in Holy Spirit has been compromised. The results being loss of His presence and power.

But....the tide is turning.

So back to what we are addressing, and in the case of you and I? ongoing for quite a long time.

We have in the body of Christ many diverse opinions of truth. Why? Well, I can name a few reasons and I’m sure others can add to the list what I don’t see.

My experience dictates these things to me that led to my up and down experience. 1. Not understanding. No teaching or a hit and miss kind of truth snatches here and there.

Possibly, my fault for not attending church on a regular basis.

But, the times that I did spend years in one place? Only hearing the message of salvation.

Am sure Holy Spirit took my case and changed the situation. For it wasn’t because of any faithfulness on my part. It’s because He is faithful.

And He put me in a place with a great teacher. And I began to love the languages of Hebrew and Greek and to study the meanings through the Strongs and other concordances. And He slowly, at my own pace, untangled my confusion.

I was young, now am old, but I’ve never seen the righteous forsaken, nor His seed begging bread.

Righteousness is the gift that’s imputed to us through faith. Upright describes what you expouse Dottie.

Every good and perfect gift comes down to us from the Father of lights....and His Son is this gift.

The Jews were given laws to live by, None could do them perfectly, so God gives them innocent blood through animal sacrifice. I know you know this....but do you know that law has a boomerang effect of bringing the wrong result when trying to obey? We will run from God every time we try. Why? Guilt.

A very hard taskmaster to live under. So is sin for sin is our rebellious nature. We are born with it because the light of God or the glory of God, His presence that once was in Adam, left.

Seperated from God.

I remember a disagreement between us about children being born with the nature of sin. We are born into sin, but a sin not committed until the choice is made to rebel.

Will stop there. I know I said a lot. Sometimes we just have to do this.
Where did I write we have killers here???

Well, I’m glad it made you feel better. I don’t usually remember disagreements well. I do remember when I learned from someone though.

I will leave you with a Bible verse quoted verbatim

He who does what is right is righteous just as he is righteous.

What do you think of Christ?
I’m not given enough characters to write a full answer. He is the Son of God who lived the character and values of the Father so that more may know and understand the Father. By his innocent shed blood we now have access to the Father that we too might show the world what He is like that all could become children of God.

We now can please the Father having been given the power to do justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with Him through life having been forgiven of our sins because of Christ.

Our lives have purpose and fulfillment in Christ and we bring that to those the Father loves, whosever will repent and receive.

There is more, but is that sufficient. Anything against scripture?

And who determines who these are? Stone, you must look at reality here. Not all who cry, “ Lord Lord” will be recognized by the Lord as His.

You sir have no understanding of Hebrews from start to finish because if you did you know that Jesus dealt with all sins at the cross, salvation is secure in Him.

For we which have believed do enter into rest, as he said, As I have sworn in my wrath, if they shall enter into my rest: although the works were finished from the foundation of the world.
Hebrews 4:3

Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.
Hebrews 12:2

The second covenant, in ultimate fulfillment of the typology of the old is perfect: "For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified." Heb 10:14
Many in the body of Christ are confused by this book until they realize it was written to Jewish believers who were being tempted to return to the law because of extreme persecution.

Why does the Bible speak of quenching the Holy Spirit? Why does the Bible talk of the Holy Spirit departing from a man?

Jackrosie, I know the OSAS doctrine. It is not found in scripture so those who believe it can only repeat the doctrine. One even quoted to me a verse and didn’t notice it was in the command form meaning we must DO something.

You know, just like my marriage, I believe I need to love someone (God) and cultivate that relationship (with Him it stands upon obedience) with all that the relationship calls for to be secure.

Let me ask, if I may, do you believe you are required to love God as He defines that to be in order to be his?

Hi DorothyMae,.....

I haven’t read or maybe I have misunderstood...but I cant find anywhere in scripture that specifically says,

Once Saved Always Saved....where are those words in the Bible?

For me I am born again....that is scriptural...it is a hard one to understand...but as you say no where in scripture are those words Once Saved Always Saved....so you are right about those words.

God’s Love came into my Spirit he loved me...I fell in Love with him...hard to explain.
I will answer if you ask me a question.x

God lives in me never to leave or forsake...
