John 3:16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

Keep searching and the door will be opened to you. It comes from the holy spirit.

Being a Christian is having faith in Jesus Christ, and trusting HIS sacrifice at the cross to cover your sins. You have to born again and have the Holy Spirit. It really comes down to faith and doing HIS will.

Well, in my opinion, every one will only know on Judgement Day, but that would be debatable with many believers. Hope this answer's you question. Keep trusting! Whenever you have any doubt, trouble, fear, joy, or anything, pray about it. Losing communication with God is what happened after Adam and Eve ate of the fruit, Jesus opened up the direct communication. Don't ever be afraid to pray.

Keep reading your Bible, fellowshipping with other believers, pray, trust in Jesus, and seek HIS will. These seem like essential building blocks.

Bible verses for clarity.....

Romans 10:9 King James Version (KJV)

9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

Luke 6:46 King James Version (KJV)

46 And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say?

Matthew 7:21-23 King James Version (KJV)

21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.

22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?

23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

Revelation 14:12

Jesus, in Your name we pray, that You reveal Yourself to @Loanranger in their spirit, like you revealed yourself to many. Dispel any doubts and make the enemy flee.
Let them know and understand the eternal reality behind the present veil of the visible and fleeting appearances.
Brighten up their eyes, so they will receive and rejoice in your salvation, knowing that no man can snatch them out of Your hand. Amen

What is a christian

A Christian is a follower of Christ. So if you're following Christ, and by following I mean you are practicing his teachings and emulating his examples, then on some level you agree with Him that he is correct. If you agree with the teachings of Jesus, do you agree with all or some of them?

Now do you believe in his death and that by the power of God he resurrected from the dead, ascended to heaven, and will return once again? If yes, then you are not only a Christian, but meet the prerequisites for God's plan of salvation to save those who place their faith in Jesus, according to the Bible.

I'm curious, Does one have an epiphany and there for become "born again"? Or is there a formal ritual
that is performed where you are actually baptized....

Great question, seems honest enough.

Baptism is suppose to be like a ritual of death, and your suppose to be born again when you come out of the water (symbolism). I would suppose it's up to everyone's own interpretation. Not to dive to deep into the subject, but I would say, you try no longer be so selfish, and seek God's will, rather than your own.

Why would you want to do God's will, if you don't have God's spirit? Evil and Good oppose each other. What do you think?

I'm sorry, but none of what you said. answered my question. I know how my baptism filled me with the holy spirit. I was asking about "born again" Christians..

I know what you are talking about " Evil v. Good " While trying to walk Jesus' path. The Satan is never far behind messing with you. Trying to make you give up. Live the easy life. Sinning. ( been there as well. )

People shift from being atheists or unintentional-born-and-raised-Christians to Born Again Christians through:
- Consciously and intentionally accepting Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior and as the Son of the One True God of Israel, the Eternal Father in Heaven.
- Receiving the gift of the Holy Spirit through God’s Grace and Baptism if they weren’t baptized already.

A Born Again Christian is someone who believes in the Holy Trinity and lives their life only according to God’s Word whether from the Bible or the Holy Spirit.

Godspeed.

Just wondering here........but WHY are people "liking" and "friending" this Post?

What has this person offered as an explanation as to why they may be in doubt as to their Spiritual Status that would lend itself to "liking" or "friending" it?

Just saying..............

there have risen a PLETHORA of "new members" here who are "unsure" as to their Spiritual Status........

IMO, based on years of experience, and having Administrated my own Site.......such as these are usually one person...........with many Screen Names......

In other words............Trolls.........

What is a christian
Isn't it written that Christians is what the church members called the Apostles.

And it came to pass, that a whole year they assembled themselves with the church, and taught much people. And the disciples were called Christians first in Antioch. Acts 11:26

When your words are His words
And your ways, His ways
When your hands are the hands He can use
When your heart's desire is just to be
A heart He reaches through
That's when Jesus
Looks a lot like you
