my point was - we don't know, do we? we are not God ( all- knowing). :)

nevertheless, we will each do as we feel is right hopefully. if that is what we do, God will see each of us doing this and understand (God looks on the heart as well as actions and knows each of us and why we are each of us - as we are). :)
My point is yes, we do sometimes know because it is plainly shown through words.

You're making some strange assumptions, probably based on your own experiences. When you write, "If we go through our lives never doing what He wanted beyond salvation, what were we saved from in the first place? Jesus came to save us from sin, not hell" Jesus came to give us a more abundant and rewarding life than we had a sinners. Of course He also saved us from hell; do you believe, contrary to Scripture, that believers are going to hell?

You also said, "The problem is teaching that works that please God are unnecessary, then believers will not be encoraged [sic] to do them. So we are left doing works that please us most of the time unless what pleases God happens to please us as well now and again." This is in direct conflict with Scripture! Believers "do good works" to the extent that they are able because God has given them the Holy Spirit. If Christians do works that please us, not God, most of the time, then they are not living according to their new, God-given nature.

Have you ever read, "“Do not judge so that you will not be judged."? Matthew 7:1 Or do you think it doesn't apply to you?

A tree that bears much fruit...is a person who is strong in the Lord...I like that...to remain in him and focus / pray for that tree to bear fruit...that’s what I’m praying for...that is my calling...but Satan keeps getting in the way,

No, her mind was on physical lust where neither I nor the Bible author intended to go.
I think the word "lusts" in context of 2 Timothy 3 can mean wide variety of lusts for those particular women. however I cannot assume

to know what you had in mind when you quoted that scripture to @jackrosie

It would have helped if you had qualified your post.

Praise God from whom all blessings flow. Praise be to God the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Praise our Lord, Jesus Christ, who did all the work on the Cross, for the past, present and the future.

Or more like “SELF”...onwards and upwards..no time to dwell...that’s what the enemy wants....me to continually beat my self up over it.

I’ve said I’m sorry to God....I’m forgiven..off I go again on my narrow path.

I’d have no reason whatsoever to think of physical lust since the subsequent verse is about learning. And I’d have no reason to think that of JR. The accusation is based on a personal dislike of me. I’m shocked she would sink so low. I didn’t think it of anyone here.

Well for the record, I dislike your dogma, not personal.

And I think we should drop that whole discussion point.

I have opened myself to misinterpretation many times and still do... best to go back and clarify.

Perhaps in the midst of this lovely thread all those arguing and bashing each other over losing salvation, or not losing it should perchance spend some time to consider whether or not they're even truly converted?

What value? Be specific.
Isn’t that the problem? I’d you don’t see value in what I write, I cannot even write of the value itself because you see no value in my words even the words explaining the value.

Not trying to do double talk but if my words have no value they cannot give you value. Someone else’s words would have to do this, I guess.

I’ve never wondered if I was saved and it never occurred me to do so. Not once in >40 years and I only heard of OSAS fairly recently in comparison.

Now,that’s interesting.....I don’t look at it like that.

I have argued for yrs..been a huge part of my life.....all I ever knew growing up...well and truly rooted.

Not once do I doubt my salvation......because through that arguing, which incidentally has gotten less over the yrs.

I believe God is digging that root out!......Praise God!
