"...a friend may be closer than you realize ..." please explain?
"Feel free to check my profile, or any of my entries. As a friend, I hope from my personal
experience, that I can lend hope, encouragement and support. And, I have learned,
as my sponsor told me years ago, to be a sponsor, be prepared, because we are dealing
with someones life, I consider this to be of upmost importance...believe it!"
'Praise God'

PROVERBS 18:24.
A man that has friends must show himself friendly: and there is a friend that sticks closer than a brother.

Thanks for quoting the Proverb, I didn't "hear" that from: "...a friend may be closer than you realize ..."

Hey guys. I'm thinking about signing up for online counseling with a licensed therapist. It's for depression anxiety substance abuse etc issues. It's expensive like $45 a week expensive though so Idk if I want to do it yet. I was wondering if anyone on here has any thoughts on it. Like is it a good idea, bad idea...?
Search where you can because there are therapists that offer it for free. A pastor can counsel you for free. At the UCKG help centre, they do it for free. The UCKG is all over the world.

As a Registered and Licenced (and up until last year Ordained Christian Counsellor) Clinical Therapist I can tell you that you frequently get what you pay for. It depends on what you need. Pastors (most of them) are not equipped to handle significant mental health problems (I train them, so I know this from experience, they need to know when to refer to someone like me). Most clinicians that are doing it for free online are doing so to get their hours towards licensing or certification, is my guess. The problem with online counselling is that if the person you are counselling with is not in your state or province then they are likely counselling illegally, not to mention the fact that you have no recourse against them in the case of malpractice. A counsellor must be Registered to counsel in the state or province of the person being counselled... Caveat Emptor!
