Love and life burst open
As the sun breaks through
The windows of an out of the way
Sunday morning restaurant,
Tiny but homey,
I look into your eyes
As the waiter pours
Two cups of coffee,
One for you, one for me.
And the unshielded aromas
Of the kitchen cooking breakfast
Inviting the senses to imagine
As we sit alone,
I reach for your hand
And you comply,
Without a moment of
Wondering why.
How can it be,
Why can't we see
What brought us here
To shed a tear,
Of unbridled thoughts
Of being near
As the sun breaks through
The windows of an out of the way
Sunday morning restaurant,
Tiny but homey,
I look into your eyes
As the waiter pours
Two cups of coffee,
One for you, one for me.
And the unshielded aromas
Of the kitchen cooking breakfast
Inviting the senses to imagine
As we sit alone,
I reach for your hand
And you comply,
Without a moment of
Wondering why.
How can it be,
Why can't we see
What brought us here
To shed a tear,
Of unbridled thoughts
Of being near
