Do men prefer women who don't chase...at all?!

I wrote about my first love. It was about how when I was young I almost got married. I was moving to D.C.
And her parents would'nt allow her to come unless we got married. Long story longer. i did'nt and her mother sent her back to live with her father. A couple years later when I was in NO. VA, She contacted me and told me that she had business in D.C. I was living with someone at the time. I told her that that it would'nt be possible because of this and I NEW that if I was to see her. I would never return.That was the biggest heartbreak of my life. I know, living out of wedlock was wrong. But I have never cheated on a mate in my life. Relationships were sacred to me. Living in the flesh is no bueno. It took me most of my life to understand this. But for the last 15 years of my life I have been true to God. Sometimes I fall short but it is'nt for the lack of trying.

I love The Moody Blues :D After looking up that one, I allowed youtube to play through many more of their songs. It was lovely :)

PS~ that was one of the first LPs I ever bought :geek:

I'm just looking out for you, we have an enemy roaming around. I think if you were at least meeting her with her husband there it would be more acceptable but I would of course pray about it even then because you could be walking into a subtle trap unbeknown to the both of you.

Thank you Butterfly, and all of you. As innocently as I approached this as I had in the past. Now that I'm older, and wiser, I have realized that my track record for taking the right path has left me with many regret's. Obviously, If my intentions were pure. I would'nt of felt the need to get advise from people that I barely know. So OKAY FINE!!! I'll let this go. I Never get to do what I want to do! Sorry, I just needed to get that out. And let you know that being a responsible adult and parent is really frustrating sometimes. Thankfully, I've got you guys. Right? lol. Thank you again. I mean it. Hope you know who you are...

It is hard letting go of our idealized (and innocent) versions of love. But there is no turning back to what once was...

Love is something we find within ourselves. It is lovely beyond compare to find it reciprocated, for sure :)

This reminded me of the song by Paul Simon. You know. that song about if he went back to school. People and places would'nt be as grand or precious as he remembered...

It's ok if some guys need to assert their male prowess via door-opening, not receiving flowers, or having an arm put around them. Those things seem surface level and superficial to me. A true test of a man is being able to provide and protect when it really counts, not split hairs over a door or flowers. That's petty and actually shows a weak man in my opinion.

Do you know , to this day, I have never experienced that nor have I had this happen unless a stranger was being courteous and holding a door open for me. I would never want to waited on by my mate. That would just be wrong.

You sound very controlling if a door or flowers are deal breakers to you. Some women like that in a man, though, but in my experience most don't. People like freedom to express their affection in their own way. Being rigid and inflexible over small things like we're discussing have never helped me earn someone's love and friendship.

I don't know. When I lived back east I took this girl on a date to the Kennedy Center to see Cats. (The Tickets were free. ) She sent me flower's the next day. I did'nt know how to respond. I did however put them in a vase on thew coffee table for her to see. It was never discussed ...

It depends, i used to chase girls that were Pakistani/Indian and i am/was a black man, there is a taboo on that, that i didnt recognise. I turned down black and white girls to try and go for an Asian. I was wasting my time, but i was so hooked that i didnt care and didnt see things from their point of view. I should of, and i wish i would have cast my fish net far and wide in my past. Its a regret that i have to this day. I have however had some relationships with Asian girls, but family are a big problem when it comes to interracial relationships. Asian Persuasion.
