So I put a half dozen of passages like this the other day.

This is precise, unambiguous, and clear.
Please tell me what you do with this:

Ephesians 1:4-5
just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we would be holy and blameless before Him. In love He predestined us to adoption as sons through Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the kind intention of His will,
I embrace it wholeheartedly. "We" are the Church. The Church is indeed predestined for Heaven. The Church is not like the Titanic. It is unsinkable in every way. I have chosen to accept my free ticket to get on board!! PTL:).

Here is a good short video, only 1:32 long.

It shows how God elected us according to nothing good in us, and based on nothing we've done to cause it. This includes the heresy that God chose us because we chose him (foreseen faith error) which some believe and teach, and which also changes grace into merit.

Here is a link, then the video:

I guess this guy has been reading Catholic literature too.....

We had not yet come to believe on Him, in order to lead to His choosing us; for if it were those who already believed that He chose, then was He chosen Himself, prior to His choosing. But how could He say, “Ye have not chosen me,” save only because His mercy anticipated us?
Augustine of Hippo Homilies of St. John

You know there is a series of writings by Augustine I can recommend if you are interested.:)

Are reading the same passage as I posted?
The verse specifically, so you cannot misinterpret it, says God chose you if you are His adopted Child.

How do you get you chose Him?

But you’ll say why does he command us to do something we cannot do?

Have you not read the Bible? The entire scripture starting in Genesis is designed for you to realize you can do nothing good apart from God, for all good things come from above, Godly sorrow, repentance, faith, love of Christ...

It’s all about Jesus not you.
Wanted to highlight the above. I've taught the same thing because it is Biblical: we cannot do what God has commanded, including repent and believe. Isn't that what got Israel in trouble "We will do all that you have commanded?" Exodus 19:8? Yes, they entered into a curse to keep the whole law instead of submitting to the righteousness that is from God; Romans 10:3.

There are some who believe repentance is not of sin. Well, they better go read some Revelation where it is seen that some were punished who refused to repent of their sin. By God's grace he causes us to live a lifestyle of sin, and defeat sin in our lives.

But this is the issue, too many argue all day long within "Christendom" and apparently don't crack open their Bibles very often and are laden with heresy. They have a few proof texts, lot's of straw men, and little sound doctrine.

Yes, all who acknowledge Him were chosen before the foundation of the world to be found righteous by grace through faith in the covering of Christ's shed blood on our behalf, due to His great and everlasting love for us. God has chosen to save any who reciprocally choose Him this way. He spent thousands of years preparing the world so we would and could recognize and know Him personally through the working of the Holy Spirit in our lives, being revealed to those who diligently and sincerely seek, for it is promised, they will find.

Several in here teach they chose God (well, glory to them) while some deny they teach it which is quite interesting. Hmmmm.

I choose a more biblical doctrine, that God does the choosing, not the doctrines of men like Finney, Sandeman and other heretics who teach contrary to the Scriptures. :)

Thanks, and you're correct, I haven't lied, yet I see the calling me a liar continues, behavior he said in the past, when he said this about me then, was "childish."

Hmmmm.

This is inappropriate behavior. I've lied about nothing, yet you continue to offer baseless accusations.

I think she may have the right to "amen" a post without being badgered over it. Sorry that bothers you so much. (y)
