We aren't to look too hard at feelings. The important thing is to prayerfully CHOOSE to do what's right in all things. And our "righteous" title comes from God. So we just need to claim that we love others, but at the same time, keep asking God to help us to grow in our love for others. ‘which is easier to say, your sins are forgiven, or take-up your Mat and walk?’....Jesus forgave him AND healed him!...forgiving people is as agonisingly difficult as healing a person born lame....look what Jesus had to go through for us to be forgiven.

Well i believe there are Saints and then there are people who are part of this church or that church who have not really accepted the Way of salvation and they have not accepted the message of Jesus.. They have church membership and make the appearance of being Christians but they do not believe the Word of God..
 
Here is an online etymology definition for the word, "Saint":
saint (n.)
early 12c., from Old French saint, seinte "a saint; a holy relic," displacing or altering Old English sanct, both from Latin sanctus "holy, consecrated" (used as a noun in Late Latin; also source of Spanish santo, santa, Italian san, etc.), properly past participle of sancire "consecrate" (see sacred). Adopted into most Germanic languages (Old Frisian sankt, Dutch sint, German Sanct).

So yes, it means "holy' - yet it is those who are most mature in the Lord (fully surrendered to God), I think, who are the most holy. But even those not yet fully surrendered seem to be called by the terms of "saints" in the Bible. I don't have assurance that anyone who is less than fully surrendered to God, is yet secure in their salvation. BUt some of of them go on to full spiritual maturity, and others do not. Naturally, those who do not in this life won't end up in heaven. Paul expressed his concern that believers under him in Galatia, would go on to full maturity.
Gal 4:19-20

19 My little children, of whom I travail in birth again until Christ be formed in you,

20 I desire to be present with you now, and to change my voice; for I stand in doubt of you.

There are also some who profess to be CHristians but who have no softness of heart or sincerity at all, I know, judging by the Sower parable.
Mark 4:14-15

14 The sower soweth the word.

15 And these are they by the way side, where the word is sown; but when they have heard, Satan cometh immediately, and taketh away the word that was sown in their hearts.

I see 3 groups of converts in the scripture: The righteous( babes in Christ) The faithful(hearers and doers) and The saints,(established and fruitful) Or course all can be used in a descriptive way as children of God, interchangeably according to the context.

Who am I to judge?
Is it not God who sees the heart with all it's motivations?

Love coverth a matter.
Love pulls those weaker from the fire.
Love doesn't hold grudges.
Love is long-suffering as God is to us.
Love encourages and edifies.

By love we are known as the children of God!

True, it is God who understands fully, about all that is in people! We are to avoid judging others for anything not regarded by the scriptures as being essential, absolutely necessary knowledge to have! The only absolutely necessary knowledge to have, mentioned in the Bible, is the way of salvation through Jesus. There are exterior things we can see in people that might indicate that their relationships with God aren't right, sometimes. Or things we hear them say, that indicate to others, according to the scriptures, that their relationships with God aren't right. But remembering to avoid judging others in anything not plainly said in the scriptures in the matter of obedience or the way of salvation, helps make a christian to be much more of a peacemaker than otherwise! So many Christians fail to be peacemakers, and God isn't happy with this!

The love chapter of the Bible (I Corinthians chapter 13) gives excellent details on how to love others without bias.
And there is a need to judge others in some cases, but one must be very careful to avoid doing it in nonessential matters of the Bible.

10 Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you; but that ye be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment.

This word "love" apparently is understood by many as mainly how one "feels" towards another. But that is only half way there. The DOING of love are the completed and right responses. For example, John 3:16. "For God so loved the world" this is the emotional response, and then the doing: "That he gave his only begotten Son". By combining the right feelings coupled with the right actions, love is completed and made whole. Regarding 1Corintians 13: verse 3 is "love" in action, but this section is comparing CHARITY to acts of rightness, or love. So, what IS charity? Verses 4-8 speak of the INNER qualities of a person and not just the outward showing of good works, or love. Love is the doing of what is right, but charity is the inner qualities that must be in place to be honorable, and for rewards later, as the text explains.

Only God sees the heart. The New Testament tells us we are to judge BEHAVIOURS, with plenty of examples by Paul, with warnings of false teachers, the religious and unbelievers. The motives, purposes and intent is open to God alone, but we are to be discerning of false brethren and doctrine. Peace can only be brought about by adhering to and properly guided by the word and not necessarily our, or their feelings. For example, a friend of mine told me of an experience he had in a church he once attended. Apparently, the board was about to make one of their members to be a Deacon in their assembly. He was a practicing and known homosexual. When my friend and a companion brought up the qualifications for this station to the board, and to cancel their intent, their reply was: "You really do not have much "love" do you".

I think honesty is the best policy in all circumstances and situations. It may mean that you need to tell the person they are going to hell, and it may be telling someone to stop sinning, it may also mean that you need to tell them they will be saved and encourage. Brotherly love is always showing love and doing the right thing but not dealing with sin.
