These people are gut wrenching liars and if the op still wants to talk about the Bible, then let's talk about how Jesus said the Father of all lies is the devil.

The Bible also states that all men are liars, but obviously not all can claim the devil as their father; if you are actually saved the devil is no longer your father

Outrageous to create an op, against Trump, set things up and then introduce the Bible and want to know what we think

No, I'm asking why in the world anyone on a Christian forum would ever, in any context, say "why are you bringing the Bible into this"

Imagine you are in church and someone interrupts the pastor and says, "wait why are you talking about Jesus, I thought this was church"

That is the kind of shock I am dealing with.

The worldly partisanship, the blindness to irony, and the attacking character of 'the other party' rather than dealing with moral issues, those things I expect and am used to. But I never thought I would see someone on CC ask why a person thinks the Bible has something relevant to a say about a topic.

It's weird. I guess it makes a certain sense in the context tho.

This is called "Christian Chat" - - the website you are on?

I am drawing a parallel between church and a discussion forum specifically designated for Christians.

Perhaps it is not a correlation you personally make, but I am under the impression that part of being a Christian is being convinced that the scripture is relevant to absolutely everything.

that's what i mean about 'being made merchandise of' -- all worldly political parties are wicked, but 'the church' writ large in America has had its allegiance 'purchased' by one of them in particular. "through covetousness and feigned words" ((2 Peter 2:1-3)) they blindly follow them. so which one do you figure in a forum dedicated to Christ do you think i'm going to focus my attention on? the one that's crept in to steal kill and destroy among my beloved brothers and sisters.

because look at the responses i've gotten to an obvious perversion of justice. except the insight of my beloved pachyderm @p_rehbein and the welcome wit of @iamsoandso all the responses i received were worldly partisan muckraking and accusations. point the finger at someone else. point the finger at me. jut out the chin, rail against the opposing team's champions. shoot the messenger, ignore the actual topic; shout it down long enough to drive it out of memory.

look at what this politik has done to you as citizens of heaven. we're not supposed to be of this world.

that's what this thread is about. why i made it. it's not about "bashing" it's about the stark reality of having become so entangled in the world such that we overlook - and even celebrate - wickedness, because that has become y'alls first reaction rather than recognizing what is good and what is evil. for the sake of worldly partisanship.

i'm not going to engage with all those replies. i just want them to think about what happened when they heard this news and how they responded to it.

Like I said, there is no shortage of disrespect and animosity towards democrats here, as though by default. Note how you are still hating on him even now. So it is not needed for me to add anything in that respect. What is needful however is for a lot of christians to recognize the worldly partisan bias they exhibit.

What this thread is about is: here is a clear and obvious unjust act. Will we condemn sin or will we excuse it because it happens to be a republican president that committed it?

As long as hillary remains free, any and all arrests are unjust. And as far as obama goes, we’re still reeling in the aftermath of his treasonous endeavors and will continue to do so for years to come.

I will say that having helped behind the scenes in federal and provincial elections on both sides of the aisle, politics is a very dirty game right down to the local level.

There are some that go in to politics to effect change and are very noble, however they usually do not last very long because there are lines of power that span generations in place.

I disagree, in that while yes we are not of this world, we are called to be place holders for good in this world and to work tirelessly to expose evil and should not abdicate our role as salt and light.

I think politics in the USA has been purposely polarized ... this in of itself to bring a great nation to its knees.

A nation divided against itself will fall..
