Well, as a guy, I think if a woman asked if she could cook dinner for me. Its borderline but, I think it all depends on how much heads up and forethought go into it.
And as for asking people out. Sometimes, I've asked people out to dinner, Mini-golf, a movie followed by Dairy Queen and they don't think its a date. I like being friends first ideally but, its easier to go at it cold. If you have an established friendship and you wind up giving this person gifts, telling them how amazing they are and taking them everywhere, You (I) might just fall into the Brother (sister) box.
"Oh you got me flowers! You're just like the brother I never had"
So I have this maneuver that I like to use to get out of the box, which is that I take 2 weeks, disappear, get a haircut and then show up as if I had an epiphany. If that doesn't work then.... its pretty much a slimy Well.
I spent 7 years of my childhood in Germany (Heidelberg, Mannheim and Kaiserslautern). If guys gave flowers here the way they do in Germany, there would be no such misunderstandings, especially if roses are given, as there are particular meanings given to each color of a rose. There are also certain colors of roses one must never give to a married lady. Maybe guys worldwide should form a support group and get this going. Makes the whole thing much easier and you don’t have to get your hair cut. J
(I started to type this in German, but thought that might be rude to the other posters J )
Invite him to dinner and win him over with your awesome lasagna![]()
i think he should stick with the hair cut.. apparently it does something to the ladies after he gets one![]()
I could be won over with mediocre lasagna...

Well, I have my shaggy moments. Part of me want to look like Jesus and the other part of me wants to have a job so that I can eat.
Most girls don't care which way my hair is pointing, just as long as it changes seasonally.
To Rissa's Little Mermaid allusion. Eric almost kissed her without the voice. Frankly, he was projecting so much that he probably would have kissed any girl that never said anything.
Which brings me to another thread possibility. What do girls see in guys with no personality? You know, the ones that just sit there and "exist." I have a theory...
There is a girl that I know and she is a Total type A personality. She only dates submissive quiet Beta guys and all these guys are exactly the same with her. She molds and makes them her way with her dominating type A personality. So, I asked her about it one day (faux pas, I know) but she said I had it wrong and that they were the strong silent type. Which brings me back to the projecting thing. Do we sometimes make people the people we want to see ourselves with?
Is this a topic for another thread?
Good to see your move went okay and you're safe![]()
