It might be unkind to distract from the OP talking about T cells, lymphopnia ect. and the jury is still out on it so far in this case(or so they say). It's been about nine months since covid-19 began spreading in the world and there are those who have had it and then became reinfected again already. Anyway I was only answering the post from Absolutely in the post you quoted.
T cells are a important part of the bodies immunological response.

I agree no point .. people pit one study against another not realizing that one has to analyze one study against another to see where the research is valid and reliable and where the research false short.

lol,,,,, what I said in post #11 is an extremely frightful scenario I understand. I admit that I would much rather be proven incorrect concerning this because it would be better. You seem to understand though that herd immunity on a cellular level would be the pivotal point in the scenario in post #11 playing out verses it not and it loosing it's novel status and us developing herd immunity to it. I actually hope I am incorrect.

I agree that is the worst case scenario. I am not sure we will go down that road yet, since the people who did not have a strong immunological response may not have come into a strong viral load and therefore only had a limited immunological response.

Having said this, if you are correct and there is no viable vaccine, the only hope is to stop the spread and ongoing contact tracing until the virus is no longer transmitted to another host or the the last host dies.

However, given the world wide spread that is no longer possible which they were able to do with SARS CoV-1.
