There has been much debate about what the mark will be but my question is when will it come to be?

It will come to be (or become a mandated requirement) after (1) the Antichrist has established himself as the ruler of the world, and (2) the Antichrist has then set up the Abomination of Desolation (the image of the Beast) within the future temple at Jerusalem, within the Holy Place (Matthew 24:15). See Revelation 13 for details.
The word says.. all will worship the beast except those whos names are written in the lambs book. So the world will be told to worship the beast first And no one will already have the mark lol Have to told demanded to worship it or die. I don't believe we are even close to that. Seems the lawless one is TRYING to make it happen earlier.

Rev. 13 states that mark of the beast will be after the anti-christ has the head wound and stands up alive again and after the false prophet instructs the people to make the image to the beast.
I go with posting # 2. According to Daniel 9:27 the Beast will have power 7 years. The first three and a half are benign and Israel will have the daily oblation. Then the beast abolishes the daily oblation and sets himself up in that same Temple as the object of universal worship (see 2nd Thess.2:4). That is when the Mark is introduced - three and a half years after the Beast "strengthens THE Covenant" - a Covenant that has the daily oblation - THE Covenant of the Law of Moses.

Daniel 9:27 has nothing to do with the anti-christ.
He is not mentioned at all in Daniel 9.
We do not discuss anti-Christ. We discuss the Beast - the future prince of the people who destroyed the City and the Sanctuary. Here is the context. Notice the grammar in Daniel 9:26-27.
26 "And after threescore and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off, but not for himself: and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the end thereof shall be with a flood, and unto the end of the war desolations are determined.
27 And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate."
The "prince that shall come" cannot be Messiah. The prince that shall come is future to Messiah. How will he be recognized by Daniel's people? Because this future prince will be of the same people that destroy the City and Sanctuary - a Roman. The "he" of verse 27 must be this prince in accordance with the "pronoun - subject" rule. This is confirmed in Matthew 24
14 "And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.
15 When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand"
The gospel of the the Kingdom (not of grace) must reach all nations. THEN comes the END. Daniel predicted one who would stand in the Holy Place, future to Messiah and future to the destruction of Jerusalem in 70 AD. The only one who does this is the Beast. It is he only who blasphemes the "Temple of God" (Rev.13:6, 2nd Thess.2:4).
Matthew 24 continues with the time frame in verse 21; "For THEN (following the Abomination of Desolation predicted by Daniel) shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be."
A THEN, after the Tribulation of those days Christ is REVEALED from the clouds (Verse 29-30).
The Beast is the prince of Daniel 9:26-27. This prince is the ONLY ONE who sets off the Abomination of Desolation, three and one half years before Christ's REVEALING from the clouds.
IMO,the mark will be a digital chip designed to eliminate the perceived Inconvenience of having to carry a wallet or purse to keep your money.IMO,It will eventually be a cashless society.IMO,the Internet will demand that If a person wants this so called convenience they will have to give all their Information/Trust to whatever powers that be that are controlling the Internet In order to make every purchase as easy as waving your hand.
