Im eager to see how that dude responds.
He gave a very libertarian response earlier, saying how there's no problem with burning bibles so long as they were privately owned.

So here's the deal with that. Anti-Christians make these lofty sounding arguments about freedom and how integrity demands that liberty be extended to the enemies of Christendom or else we're hypocrites, etc. But the reality is that they actually don't care at all about freedom or liberty or anything like that. They just use our freedoms as a weapon against us in order to incrementally gain more and more power for their cause. Once they have sufficient control in the situation, then suddenly they don't care about freedom anymore as they seek to crush any opposing viewpoints.

Where did you get this?
I'm not saying that it's okay to burn Bibles. And I'm not trying to minimize the significance of it. Quite the opposite actually.

But I don't think it's beneficial to spread misinformation even if it would seem to be helpful to our cause. When people talk about the Germans burning books, the big event that they're talking about is the raid on the "Institute for Sexuality" in Berlin in 1933. This sex shop was run by a jew named Hirschfeld. This is the guy that started the whole transsexual movement. They were pushing for more and more acceptance of deviant behavior within German society. They were even promoting pedophelia and bestiality.

Eventually people got sick of it and raided the building, gathered up the books there and burned them. I highly doubt there was a single Bible in that whole place. Furthermore, I am unaware of any effort to burn up Bibles in Germany under Nazi leadership. If you know when or where this happened, I'd be interested to read about it. Please share.

We've got a strong case against these marxist BLM rats. We don't need to resort to lies in order to make our case.

You were spreading misinformation. Brownshirts becoming the nazi did not burn pornography. They burned some sexual content yes, but they did burn far more then that. What BLM is doing is not that different from the brown shirts to me. And I’m talking about more then some bookburnings. They just burned those Bibles because a man was offering it to them freely. Hoping they’d turn to Christ but they chose another path. We gotta feel sorry for their ignorance. They mumble about slavery but do not see how they are being enslaved now.

There was more than one bookburning. The nazi did also bookburnings before they gained power. Hitler lost his first elections so started stirring up the masses with violence and hatespeech. Exactly what we saw in Portland. They even assaulted their own mayor. They ask to defund the police while burning their own cities. And it’s not color related, it’s an entire generation that let’s their little screens dictate how to act and react.

If my kids were marching those streets I would drag them out, even on their hair if I have to. I have no mercy for people demanding action where none is required and start using violence to get their ways. It is called fascism. Never again.

The Nazis were catholic so I don't see why they would burn Bibles

how exactly does someone burning books that they purchased take any of your freedoms away?
Are we going to make it illegal to burn your own property?
If any crime was committed it was burning something inside the city limits
But let's say we do make it illegal to burn religious literature then that needs to apply to all religious literature and just one as the Constitution clearly States Congress shall make no law respecting any one religion
and I don't give a fudge about statues because they are graven images anyway

There's no problem with burning your books. But if you run around burning bibles in public and making a display of it, then that is properly seen as attack on Christianity. And you've got to expect some sort of response. If I made a big cross and then set it on fire in a public way, would you be defending me saying how it's not a threat or anything and how I've got every right to burn my crosses as I see fit? Of course you wouldn't. You'd be screaming how I'm a racist and how I ought to suffer some sort of consequences. The truth is that burning bibles is an attack on our culture, and IMO it should be met with resistance.

Like it or not, it's free speech. as long as they are not actually threatening people with violence.
The only crime they committed is burning something inside city limits
however a person would have to be completely disconnected from reality to associate burning crosses with anything other than the KKK

So if I understand you correctly you're saying:
"Burning bibles is good. It's free speech! But burning crosses is bad. No free speech for the KKK!"

And that's kind of my point. You're not really for free speech. You're just using "free speech" as cover to promote an anti-christian agenda. If you were actually for free speech, you'd be defending KKK cross burnings just as vigorously as your bible burnings.

The KKK used to burn crosses on black people's front yards to racially intimidate them. So no that doesn't fall under free speech
Also I didn't say burning Bibles is a good thing. I said burning your own property isn't a crime

I would be more concerned if churches were bombed than if some rioters burned bibles given to them.

sorry. Yes churches have been bombed in america, and people died. not recently but in the past.
we had a big mosque shooting in nz. people were KILLED. I would be more concerned about that than say if someone burned a bunch of quarans that were given to them.

and Im a librarian. I know books can be replaced. people cant be.

Right. The Bibles were their property so it's not a crime to burn your own property.
No loss of life, no one was hurt so...meh

Hundreds of years ago, people burned printing presses. why because people were printing tracts about freeing slaves. and many of them that were printing the tracts were christians.

If you are a christian you have got to expect some kind of persecution because people dont always like to hear the truth. I dont see it as an attack on our freedom, it just means the devil doesnt want the truth to get out. But it will come out anyway.

satan just wants ro steal, kill or destroy, but as Christans you have got to be stoic and get on with praying and being faithful. people can burn bibles....but Gods word is forever.

if someone deliberately burned a library THEN I would be horrified.

I guess it takes more than burning bibles to horrify me. I must be desensitised or something maybe.

One thing that disgusted me was when someone poisoned the community garden by putting roundup in the water. That was horrific. But people do STUPID things all the time.

A bunch of teenagers burned some books also and nearly started a fire down there. so we took away the book fridge. If people cant read and would rather burn books then they shouldnt have free access to them.

im talking about people burning printing presseses that werent theres, they would break and enter and burn the printing presses, this happened in america. I think this particular situation isnt quite the same, but its just the devil trying to make a song and dance about how he hates God. the truth got out anyway.

the more attention you pay to the crime, (or incident) the more you glorify it. I would rsther just spend the time getting on with life. if Bibles are burned, so what spend more time reaching out in areas where nobody is going to burn them. For people that ask for them. and need them. Plenty of people do need God, dont cast your pearls before swine.

I would just ignore all the hate groups that are doing crazy things and ask God for wisdom on how to reach out in better ways than just handing out bibles to random people on the street.
