I'd rather we'd caught him alive so he could have a chance to repent.

I saw it too :D I can't believe it's finally over. Hopefully his death is enough to crush Al Qaeda.

I was about to find the cheesiest "Go America" picture on google images, but you have made a point. We are letting our nationality supercede the message of Christ.

True, and it is good news, don't get me wrong. But it would have been better news if we'd caught him alive so he could stand trial, and possibly repent of his actions.

The Apostle Paul wasn't much different if you think about it for a bit.

He wasn't going to repent.
Ahh, so you've been gifted with the ability to see into the hearts of men?

Remember that St. Paul once persecuted Christians and stood by as St. Stephen the Protomartyr was stoned to death. Yet he repented and came to be a great Christian. Are you saying that Christ could not have found a way to bring Osama Bin Laden to repent?

This is a Jewish Fable of the angels of God, but it speaks in truth by word of love.

The Jews have a legend that, when their forefathers were saved from Egypt and the Egyptians drowned in the red sea, the angels joined the song of triumph sung by Israelites. And God said to the angels, "The Jews are men and can rejoice about their escape. But from you I expect more understanding. Are the Egyptians not also my creatures? Do you not love them, too? How do you fail to feel my sorrow about their tragic fate?"

This could be what was right for Bin Laden to go through and die, but still God loved him.

He's had ten years to repent. There's no reason to think getting captured would change anything. He has been committed to this course for his whole life.

Not everyone will be happy to see him gone, but you can't please everyone all the time.

Even if he did repent, he was going to be killed. He deserved death. Period. No trial needed. He was guilty.

We deserve death. No trial needed. We are guilty.

Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
