Actually Jesus is responding to Peter statement that he is the Christ the son of the living God.

Actually, when we say the world church, it has many meanings. One of those meanings is the building we celebrate the Lord in.

However, as far as denominations, many people think of themselves as part of their denomination, for they will say I am, and then they name the denomination. Actually, it means they accept the doctrines of that denomination. It would be better, I think, to say I am a Christian. There are many different doctrines in different churches, but there is only one doctrine that is truth. Someone has to be wrong. What if the denomination you belong to is one who is wrong?

We see darkly while we live in this life, none of us know all about the Lord. If we only state we are a Christian, it is like saying that you believe in salvation through Christ, and we know that is the truth. You wouldn't be taking a chance that you are aligning yourself with what is false.

well... so far, I think you are reiterating what most folks on here believe....

what point are you trying to make? Or do you simply want to rail against churches that have buildings?
You are not "YET" reincarnated, are you? Actually, I know you are not... he was much more eloquent....

Why does denominational religion teach the building is the church. When you are actually the church.
It is probably more a matter of convenience than anything else. It is easier to say "the church" than to say "the building where the church meets". As long as people understand that the children of God are the Church.

It also goes back to the temple at Jerusalem -- which was a special building dedicated to the worship of God. When cathedrals started being built in Europe, they took that concept and made elaborate buildings for worship. Unfortunately, the teachings within were a departure from Bible truth and Gospel truth.

Baptism is total submerging under water, representation of death unto life.
Sprinkles mean nothing with so called holy water, been blessed by man not god
Yes, full immersion 😀

A symbol of what has already happened to a believer when they were converted.

It's very sad that so many do not see the fractures in Christian churches and the damage the various different denominations have on it. When will all Christians understand that they are the Body Of Christ with different functions, purposes and gifts and at different levels of faith according to what is bestowed on them with the purpose to serve GOD, not themselves or any man made organization. Remember what Christ said "Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation, and every city or house divided against itself will not stand. Why can't Christians see this is happening to Christianity and even What I see on Christian forums. WAKE UP. Who is planting these seeds to disrupt, disillusion and separate Christians. Pride, self righteousness and special knowledge seem to play big factors.

We have to learn to make our will inline with GOD's will, so that our mind is influenced by HIS Spirit and not by what we think we know or are told to know.
How can you know the will of GOD without the Spirit of GOD and how can you do! the will of GOD without the Power of GOD?

I will say this again
No man made church called you. It was GOD
No man made church die for your sins. It was Christ
The Holy Spirit will guide you in to all truth
Many Christians believe in GOD without believing GOD.

Jesus stated upon you Peter I build my church, never said go build vatican's or Temple's, yes meeting places to discuss the glory of the Heavenly Father and Son.

No such thing as non denominational ..It being a denomination in its own . We walk by the unseen Holy place Christ. . in us not seen. (not under the Sun) . This present age.

All authority was given the Jesus Christ, not an earthly church, looks like when we are hidden in Him, and give Him first place with every thought word and deed, "denomination" is no longer in the definition.

Denomination-
  1. 1.
a recognized autonomous branch of the Christian Church
He is calling His Own from all the nations, religions, and denominations, one at a time as He judges our hearts, knowing the end from the beginning.

Why would Jesus or father need a building when humans were created in his glory for service.
Remember when praying go into your closet don't stand on the streets for all to see and be a hypocrite.
Besides when will the so-called building church, explain to everyone who Melchizedek priesthood is and who Melchizedek was before becoming the breath of the father in the garden of Eden.
Denominational church's lie to their congratulations for money.
You did not answer the question as to which denomination teaches that a building is the church. Therefore you are making false accusations and God hates that. Literally Hates it. You should deal with that before you take a head first dive into the arrogancy of thinking you know the origins of Melchizedek when the scriptures make it clear that no one does. So you've made false accusations, exposed your arrogancy, and now want to add sin to sin with an additional false accusation about churches lying for money. Your pulling sin behind you with a cart rope and adding to your load as you go. I would focus on your own heart before worrying about all the denominations in the world. You would probably do well to join one and sit under a bible teacher for a year before attempting to teach again.

Christ loves the organized church of today, and wants us to love it.

However, the temple was God's church and when men treated it wrong Christ worked to correct that wrong. Pointing to the wrong that is in the church that God loves is not ranting against the church, rather it is working for the church.

The "church" is the "eklesia" or body of believers, not an institution, we are not to forsake meeting together in His name, yet often these institutions have mislead people into believing you have to go through them to receive salvation, let alone all the other gifts Christ made available to His Own.:)(y)

Your first premise is only partially correct

the word means total immersion correct

however water is just one of many things someone can be baptized into

the thief on the cross was not baptized.
It is an outward sign of an inward acceptance of renewal, not a legalistic practice that must be adhered to in order to be saved, Jesus told us ALL authority was given to Him. Deep diving Baptists don't have an edge in this. You have to go to some denominations to get back under the law Jesus freed us from.
best wishes

We as humans are only one church to God not churches
Again, you haven't answered my question.

Do you have any evidence that any denomination teaches that the building is 'the church'?

The word church has multiple meanings. It can mean a place of worship, a group of people who worship together, a service in a church building, or all the people who share that they worship the Lord.

If we are Christian we see the world through the eyes of the Father, anything else is our view, our opinion, we are no longer our own in Christ Jesus. In Him our opinion is important only because He loves us, but it doesn't matter as we walk out His plan for our lives. The church is the "eklesia" or body of believers.
