Not exactly. Calvinists are still trusting in the finished work of Christ and imputed righteousness -- justification. The only issue is that they believe that the unsaved (or many of them) have been shut out of God's Kingdom by God. That God actually violates His own Gospel to pick and choose who will be saved and who will not.
Perhaps they need a refresher course in the reconciliation that Christ has done in his finished work.
Drawing all near and far to be one. Not just Jew and gentile but from all nation's and tongue who dare to believe.
I believe this is the picture of the first church in the upper room from all nation and tongue speaking the same language, understanding the same.
The heart of the father is that all would be saved amen. What right minded person goes to war and says
You, you, and you are expendable and for this cause you shall lose your life as a example so that others can learn and live?
The good news of the gospel is that there may be many battles to fight but the war is already won for those who are found in Christ Jesus.
In war there will be casualties, if they are found in Christ so shall they be raised again. If they are not found in Christ the law will have it's way.
Preaching the gospel of a better life a more blessed life here on earth is not the gospel of Christ for Jesus said I've come to give you a sword ( word of God) truth.
The truth is we are at war against the principalities of the air, the evil one, Satan who is a murderer, thief, and a liar, his objective is to kill and destroy.
Our mission is to shine our light upon this truth. To demonstrate the kindness of God and to tell them of the finished work of Christ. That there is now reconciliation through the shed blood of Christ.
Explaining the cost of atonement for our sins and trespasses.

Isn't election self-righteousness....the same trap the Jews fell into when saying Abraham was are father?
Election is self-nothingness. Certainly not self-righteousness. Really, its not self-anything. How can it be?

No its says it Pleases God to Save those that believe. Your twisting the verse .
No it's you twisting that verse...........again. God is stating here that he is pleased with Himself, due to His choice of using the technique of the gospel to save souls.

1Cor 1:21
For since in the wisdom of God, the world through itswisdom did not know God, God was pleased through the foolishness of the proclamation to save those believing.

My point? God "set apart" Paul and Jeremiah before they were born. In precisely the same way as he did with 7000 Israelites during the days of Elijah. In precisely the same way in Romans ch 9 choosing Jacob over Esau.

In precisely the same way as every Christian today is redeemed..........from eternity past, by God's own choosing!

2Thess 2:13
But we should always give thanks to God for you, brethren beloved by the Lord, because God has chosen you from the beginning [from before creation] for salvation through sanctification by the Spirit and faith in the truth.

2Tim 1:9
who has saved us and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to His own purpose and grace which was granted us in Christ Jesus from all eternity,
2 Tim 1:9
"who has saved us and called us"
-first comes the saving
-then comes the calling
Could this imply that salvation indeed originates from eternity past?

The 'method 'God chose was through the preaching of the Gospel . So through the preaching of the Gosepl God is pleased to save those that believe it . As apposed to God not being pleased if people reject the message .

No one would be saved unless God elected the multitude to be saved.Ezk34
This is false, and the reference is out of context.

God has made provision through the Gospel for all men to be saved. But only those who obey the Gospel are saved. Kindly read and study the entire 10th chapter of Romans -- a key chapter which refute Calvinistic nonsense.

Ezekiel 34 is about Israel, and how God will gather Israel after the second coming of Christ. Even so, there will be a believing remnant saved -- one third of all the Jews in the world (as found in other prophecies).

It is also a sound rebuke to unfaithful shepherds, and that has a current application to all pastors today. Few are doing what is required in Ezekiel 34.

Nothing there about " chosen BEFORE the foundation of the world TO BE saved " Why ? Because its Augustines Manichaeism that you believe .
Never read anything from Augustine, so I'm not quoting from him, but from scripture. My conclusions for all Biblical topics are all drawn from all related scriptures, which speak for themselves. These scriptures I previously provided identify when names were not written and when names where written, which for both was before the world began of those whom God foreknew and predestined for eternal life. And those He predestined He called and those He called He justified and glorified.

================================================================

1 Peter 2:8

To you who believe, then, this stone is precious. But to those who do not believe,

“The stone the builders rejected

has become the cornerstone,”

and,

“A stone of stumbling

and a rock of offense.”

They stumble because they disobey the word—and to this they were appointed.

ACTS 13:48

For this is what the Lord has commanded us:

‘I have made you a light for the Gentiles, to bring salvation to the ends of the earth.’”

When the Gentiles heard this, they rejoiced and glorified the word of the Lord, and all who were appointed for eternal life believed.

=======================================================================

So both scriptures above use the word 'appointed.' The first reference in 1 Peter states that stumble and disobey the gospel, because they were appointed to.

The second reference is that the Gentiles who believed were appointed for eternal life.

The Greek verb 'Tasso' means to be ordained (by God) to obtain eternal life, or to whom God bad decreed eternal life, i.e. eternal life is foreordained by God's Sovereign will and election.

I listed these because the inference of both groups being appointed demonstrates a foreknowing and predestination. Those who were appointed to disbelieve belong to to those whose names were not written in the book of life before the world began. Those who believed, were appointed to inherit eternal life, because their names were written in the book of life before the world began. Below is another example:

====================================================================

So the Jews gathered around Him and demanded, “How long will You keep us in suspense? If You are the Christ, tell us plainly.”

“I already told you,” Jesus replied, “but you did not believe. The works I do in My Father’s name testify on My behalf. But because you are not My sheep, you refuse to believe. My sheep listen to My voice; I know them, and they follow Me. I give them eternal life, and they will never perish. No one can snatch them out of My hand. My Father who has given them to Me is greater than all. No one can snatch them out of My Father’s hand.

=====================================================================

Those Jews didn't believe because they were not Jesus' sheep, which would also demonstrate a foreknowing, predestination and election. And the reason why they are were not His sheep, is because their names were not written in the book of life before the world began.

There are some whose names are not written in the book of life because they have been blotted out. Simple.
Well, if we look at the scripture that is not what is taught. For the scripture states their they are those whose names were not written in the book of life which took place before the world began. In short, their names were never written in the book of life to begin with. You can't blot out names that were never written there in the first place. Here are the scriptures again:

"And all who dwell on the earth will worship the beast—all whose names have not been written from the foundation of the world in the Book of Life belonging to the Lamb who was slain."

"The inhabitants of the earth whose names have not been written in the book of life from the creation of the world will be astonished when they see the beast, because it once was, now is not, and yet will come."

The two scriptures above are very clear in that, their names were never written in the book of life. And the time when that did not take place was before the world even began which also reveals when the names of all believers were written in the book. You can't have names blotted out if they were never there in the first place.

Actually it says, "from the foundation of the world" which means before the world began, i.e. before the foundation of the earth was laid.
Make your mind up . is it From the foundation or before the foundation ? I'm reading ' from ' so I'm sticking with Gods word.

It must be God who chosen you, not you chosen god, because you were born without knowing that God existed
