There are plenty of good parenting books but the problem is which one do you pick?
I do have some advice though when it comes to being a parent it is easy to forget what it is like to be a kid so often times many things that seem little often times have a massive effect on the child or children.
Be careful of favoritism this is actually one of the most common unintentional mistakes parents make but it has a big affect on the children they can tell when favorites are a thing yes you love both of them but in different ways but that difference makes the child who is not favored feel less valued liked or loved it can have different affects on them depending on the child they can act out more seek attention or evenh bully the other child because of this.

Another thing is the importance of support, a child needs to be able to have the confidence to reach for the stars knowing that even if they fall you still believe in them. support is a vital thing to a child or really any young persons life no matter how much they screw up no matter what skills they lack if they know that they can always count on their family to have their backs they can have the strength to try again. This is especially important when they are young as that is when the forming of how a child thinks and believes is most absorbed.

A good combination of freedom and structure is also vital to much freedom and they can go way overboard to much structure and confined rules and chains and they will rebel.
I have thought a great deal on this subject as I learned how to be a parent by seeing what not to do one day I might write a book on it

Oh wow good for you this is the most precious time to be with them as well as the most hectic XD
Something else I recommend is family activities these are actually some of the most fond memories I had when I was young before my family broke apart, we had family game nights and family movie nights back then I took it for granted but as you grow older you look back on those times with fondness and see how it helped shape your family and you .

When they start to get older they will likely not want to do this as much but every kid is different in their teens well... that is when it becomes complicated sometimes you can have a kid that you can talk with and have a good bond with other times you have a kid that just shuts themselves in their rooms all the time you can do everything right but still have a kid turn into a rebel

librarian here.
so parenting books. You basic popular parenting authors from a christian standpoint in america are James Dobson and Gary Chapman. Theres also Kevin Lehman but thats only if you are one of those parents who totally spoil their kids.

in nz its Ian and Mary Grant and Stephen Biddulph. Theres something psychologists call "attachment parenting' but I think thats for parents of very young children not grown children.

one book thats very useful is Siblings without Rivalry. Sorry cant remember the authors but quite useful strategies and info in that one.

Other parenting books, although you dont need to be a genius to figure it out, say READ books with your children from when they are babies to whenever they tell you to stop.

Its a way of bonding even if your children dont turn out to be readers themselves. I was never read to as a baby, have zero memories of it. I would have liked it I think.

I think the OP asked for books about parenting for parents (not books for children to read with kids) unless I am mistaken.

I understand the Cabbage Patch Kids has good information for parents, and good entertainment for kids as well as teaching them in a Christian way. I would think that anything with a Christian message that occupies the mind of a child, providing the parent with a break would be beneficial for both. Not a parent, but know some who are.

I have never seen a cabbage patch kid book or movie.

Any specific subject (other than "parenting")
the range of parenting books is vast.
